Where do I start with Del... he is the reason why our wedding was a success! He helped us with every aspect of our wedding at a venue we've never seen, and planned from Cali. He was always available to take calls with us, met us multiple times when we landed, and on the day of the ceremony... he coordinated EVERYTHING. The music and vibe was exactly what we asked for and he really helped us feel at ease as the wedding got closer. From getting my wife and I waters, coffee, napkins and checking our timeline... he has become a friend that I would come grab a few drinks with in Maui or in Cali! There's not enough words on this planet that can show my appreciation for what Del has done for my wife and I... whatever you're thinking... this is your guy read more

I have worked for many years as a videographer (HI FOCUSED Cinematography) in the wedding industry here on Maui, so when it came time for our wedding, I had long known who I wanted to be a part of  our vendor dream team.  Truly the best of the best offered here on Maui!   Del is professional, thorough but also charismatic and funny too!   A combination of all the best attributes for someone to host your wedding reception.Del is most known for being a DJ but he also officiates.   If our wedding had a reception party with music, we, without a doubt, would have hired him to DJ. Considering his personality and our long time friendship, it wasnt a hard choice to choose Del to officiate our ceremony. Together we worked on a ceremony that was very personalized and authentic to me and my bride. From our vision, Del came up with a script that was personal, profound but also  with moments of light humor, the perfect combination for a wedding ceremony.   On the wedding day he beautifully delivered our ceremony.  Del has been my friend for years so it made our day even more special to have him be apart of our wedding day!  Thank you for all your work in making it the perfect wedding day for us! After coming recommended by our wedding planner, my husband and I decided to book DJ Del for our wedding, and we both agree that it was one of the best decisions we made throughout our planning process! In my opinion, the DJ/ MC is one of the things that can make or break a wedding guests' experience, so I was super nervous about picking the right one, but DJ Del was 100% the man for the job, and crushed it from start to finish. To start off, he's just an all around cool dude, which made it super easy to work with him. We made the decision to book him after getting a bit of a sense of his vibe from his social media and website, and reading through a bunch of his reviews, which were all overwhelmingly positive. After doing so (through our wedding planner), he asked us to provide him with notes that went over the type of music that we like, what we want played, what we don't want played, ect. We tried not to request too many specific songs to allow him opportunity to cater his selections to the crowd, and instead provided him with information about our group, and described the vibe that we were going for. We also spoke on the phone a week or two before the wedding, where we went over the reception and discussed all of the details that involved him at length. He was funny, super easy to talk to, and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. He also had really good insight into what makes a wedding reception flow well, and assisted me in tweaking the order/ timing of a couple things so there were no lulls throughout the night, and the momentum of the party kept building. Ultimately, the result of the very simple groundwork that we put in, in combination with DJ Del's talent and preparation, was a reception that went better than I ever could have expected, and a dance floor that stayed popping the entire night. Even before the dancing started, DJ Del was amazing at engaging with out guests as MC. He was fun and funny without being cheesy or too unserious, and did an amazing job guiding everyone and encouraging everyone to visit the bar, go up to the food stations for seconds, ect. When it came time for the grand entrances and first dances, he made sure everyone knew what to do and where to go, and hyped all of us in the wedding party up, so we went out there with awesome energy that stuck throughout the entire night. After the first dances, we went straight into the dance party and the song selections did not miss. I'm pretty sure everyone at the wedding was up on the dance floor at some point in the night, and there was never a point where it felt quiet or empty. I could tell that he really understood what I wanted from my notes and did such a good job of choosing songs that matched the vibe that we were going for, whilst also catering to guests of all different ages. He also helped me pull off a birthday surprise for my cousin to the song "In Da Club", which went off without a hitch. He checked in with me at several points about different little details just to make sure I was happy with how everything was going. At one point I jumped on the mic to open the song "No Hands" by loudly exclaiming its iconic first line: "listen to this track, b*tch". It was a major highlight for me (lol). Up until the very end of the night, DJ Del had the best energy that kept us all hype and having so much fun. I HIGHLY recommend hiring him as your DJ if you want to dance your actual butt off and have the time of your life with all of your family and friends. Thanks again, DJ Del, for bringing the party and helping make our wedding the most fun day ever! read more

THIS GUY. Literally if it wasn't for Del, our wedding wouldn't have been as special as it was. Our coordinator couldn't be there the day before the wedding (for the rehearsal) and he took everything into his own hands and ran through it all with ease. Not to mention that we had 13 people on each side, all of our grandparents and the little ones to work with. There were never any awkward pauses throughout the whole wedding day and he made sure that we were continuously having a good time! While we were getting ready, the power went completely out and he had a friend bring a generator for us to use. He truly went above and beyond and we are SO incredibly grateful to know him now. Please don't hesitate when it comes to working with him. He's a mastermind at what he does, and you won't be disappointed!! read more

Choosing DJ Del Sol will be one of the best decisions you make for your wedding or major event! He is an outstanding human and made all of our guests incredibly comfortable during our wedding. He really took the time to understand our wedding day itinerary and kept the day moving forward perfectly. DJ is a great communicator and truly understands all the inter-workings required for a major event (this includes collaborating with our other vendors/coordinators flawlessly). Most importantly, his music selections were on point and he kept our guests dancing all night long until the very last song. read more

Look no further for a wedding DJ because here's your guy. I regret not being able to connect with Del a bit sooner until the day of the wedding, but everything worked out perfectly via our planner. He's down to earth, humorous and and his professionalism is top notch which all made for a great relaxed atmosphere! I've been to weddings before where it sounds like "DJs" are just playing unmixed music from their iTunes library and it sounds choppy. Not the case here, DJ Del mixed everything perfectly and kept the music going smoothly. Requests from us sent before the date (EDM, reggaeton, throwback 90s), and guest requests the day of were accommodated. Being busy the entire evening running around everywhere, I definitely appreciated his MC help in keeping the flow going throughout the evening regarding announcements, speeches etc. Mahalo DJ Del! - L & I read more

If you are looking for a wedding DJ/MC Dj Del Sol is your guy! He is helpful, kind, and so talented. Del was very quick to respond and had great suggestions. Aside from helping with the music he also helped with our timeline and gave so many tips on how we could adjust things to make the day flow better. My husband and I were able to give him a few songs and an idea of what we liked, and he filled in the rest perfectly. He knows how to get the party started and how to keep it going. Our guests danced the entire night and are still talking about how much fun they had. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC! read more

I am very, very late on this review but better late than never. DJ Del Sol aka Maui Wedding DJ was so awesome to work with. He ensured everyone was having a great time at our wedding (back in June 2012) and managed to play every single song on our list...all of which were clean versions...not an easy thing to accomplish. I would recommend any and everyone to utilize Felipe's services. You will not be disappointed...thank you so much for making our wedding a memorable one! All the best!!! Ryan & Chrislee. read more

WOW! DJ DEL was a hit! Literally from the first e-mail to the first moment we met, he knew exactly what was needed and when! It's almost as if he spoke to my musical soul! He's charismatic, intelligent, the best MC out there, and so KIND! We found ourselves very lucky to have worked with him, and have him be a part of our special day! He literally goes above and beyond! My father is very sick and was unable to fly to our wedding. DJ DEL took it upon himself to facetime him during our ceremony! Honestly, he's the best, don't miss out! read more

DEL SOL is absolutely amazing! Coming from the Bay Area, and knowing a few DJs ourselves, we had high expectations of what we were looking for. Upon review all dj's available on Maui, Del was at the top of our list. It took some time in the beginning to get a quote, but we inquired smack dab during wedding season, so bad timing. but i am so HAPPY we held out for Del. First - he was so helpful, outside of being a DJ/MC. When I (the bride) first arrived, he helped me out of the van and carried my things and showed us our waiting room at Olowalu. Pure Gentleman! Even after the ceremony, during pictures on the lot next door, he came by with waters for the Groom and I. Again, he didn't have to. Second - he was a great MC! Knows how to work the crowd, keep things moving, and all around very personable. If you want someone to keep the party LIVE, he's the man. Lastly - he knew exactly the music we wanted, without us even asking for it. Based on a few of our song choices, he knew exactly what to fill in the time with. He even recommended a different entrance song for us, just based on the hype we were looking for and it was PERFECT. read more

Del is truly an exceptional DJ, MC, and all around great guy! For our wedding, he not only played the jams, he was also very smooth with helping us seamlessly transition into what came next in our schedule of events from the grand entrance to the mother and son dance and bringing everyone onto the dance floor. All the while, taking the time to mingle and make sure everyone was having a great time. Mahalo nui loa Del for helping us make our wedding day special!!! Rose and Russ \m/ read more

Del came highly recommended by Lori Lawrence of Tropical Maui weddings to be our dj. Since we had a small wedding, I wasn't sure a DJ was necessary but Del was so much more. First of all, he has an awesome presence and is hilarious. He kept the wedding moving at a good pace and acted as the emcee for the evening. Beyond his stellar personality, he's an awesome dj. I think I actually said, "let's get ghetto" and immediately he started playing some fun hip hop and old school rap. The music played during dinner was exactly what I would have wanted, without me even saying so. We met with Del during a wedding planning trip and we had so much fun with him. Him and my husband totally hit it off and stayed for a few extra beers after our "business meeting" was over. Loved Del and we will definitely connect with him next time we're in Maui! read more

DJ Del Sol is AWESOME!! Planning a destination wedding is hard but the second I got on the phone with Del I knew he was it! He spoke professionally but had a sense of fun to him, he listened to our wants and most importantly our do not wants, during the wedding he always made sure we were happy and to make sure the music was on key...which it was, everyone was on the dance floor! He is a no fuss man and rocked it out with a smile, he improvised and played up the crowds mood...he really is the best and we are so happy we went with him for our wedding! DJ Del was awesome for our wedding! He's truly a professional and he really knows his music. Not only did he play music, he worked with our coordinator to be on top of our schedule. He told us exactly how much time before the next event and what we can expect. He also has such a positive vibe as an MC that he makes everyone so happy being around him. Before the wedding, he gets to know you personally to get a flavor of what type of music you listen to so he can personalize it during your wedding. For me, I'm into hip hop and electronic music and what he played was on point. I've gotten so many compliments from the guests on how great the music was. He set the right mood during dinner and turned up the energy during the party at night. During our wedding, one of my friends wanted to play a song by someone I requested not to hear (this artist shall not be named). Even with big bribes from my friends, he stood firm and told them no matter how much money they offered, he would not be swayed. This man is an incredible DJ. read more

DJ Del Sol, is awesome!! He not only played great music but I felt he went above and beyond by making sure everything was running smooth, guests were having a blast, and when I was all sweaty from the heat he helped me get fans and cool me off, I really felt he put in extra effort to make sure we were happy and we were!!! 100% would hire him again!! DJ Del Sol was amazing for our wedding, I originally did not think I needed a DJ, but boy was I glad we got DJ Del Sol, he was more than a DJ, he helped to keep us in schedule and to make everything in the wedding have a nice flow, he even play the part of translator, he was such big help in that aspect to keep all my Spanish speaking guests organized and entertained. DJ wise he was also amazing, he kept the dance floor full the entire night, my guests had an amazing time thanks to him. I don't think I could have gotten anyone better than him. Thank you so much DJ Del Sol, it was a pleasure working with you. read more

DJ Del Sol did an amazing job at our wedding! He was a great MC and seamlessly kept our wedding on schedule. I cant say enough good things about Del! Seriously, next party we have in CA, we're gonna fly him out just to DJ. I got married June 2016 and when it came to planning our priorities were Music, Drinks, Food, and Photography. In that order. We had tasted the food and drinks, we had seen the photographers blog. For the music we needed to trust our DJ, and Del delivered! He had a really easy worksheet I filled out beforehand with Dinner Music, Dance music, Must plays, and Dont plays. My biggest concern was whether or not he would actually be good an transitioning between the many genres I like(Dance, Alternative, Salsa, Reggae, Merengue, 90's hiphop). My friends and family were on the dance floor all night. AND I only gave him 20 songs, he knew just the right songs. I turned to Del for advice about the schedule and timeline instead of my wedding planner. That's how easy he is to talk to! Thank you Del! Nic and Esme read more

Best DJ on the island! Felipe (aka Del Sol) was great. Felipe was very responsive and provided us with a great template to input our requests. Del was available by cell, email, text, etc. This helped eliminate any confusion and as a result, made it an unforgettable night. The music and MC'ing was second to none. Felipe kept the guests laughing with his great sense of humor and kept them dancing all night long with the music. He even went out of his way to make sure we had a blast at the after-party. We highly recommend Del. Mahalo! read more

There are professionals and then there is DJ Del Sol. WOW! That is what the response was from our wedding guests. We couldn't echo that louder. From the moment we decided to book, working with Del was a dream come true. We heard him play for a friends wedding a year earlier and couldn't stop talking about it! Booking was super easy and he made himself available to us via phone so we could chat about specifics. Emails were returned promptly and there was never any confusion about how things were going to go. Once we arrived on island we met up with Del to give him our lists of what to play and when. He understood our vibe and took it from there. I can't tell you how many times we have been asked, "Can I get a copy of your playlist for dinner and dancing? - it was amazing!" Also, we had 2 opera singers and he was gracious enough to come to our rehearsal so that they had a chance to meet with Del and go over what they needed as far as timing goes. Every single thing went perfect. We had Del from the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing and he knew exactly how to transition from one segment to the next seamlessly. A+++++ is how we rate Del! read more

DJ Del Sol is definitely the best DJ on Maui! Working with him was an absolute pleasure and I'd strongly recommend him for any wedding or celebration that may require an MC to preside. When searching for a DJ for our wedding - we definitely were a bit jaded by the DJs we have seen at some other weddings. Having seen the gamut, we knew what we wanted and that was a DJ that didn't hijack the event (by speaking too much or inserting random "not funny at all" jokes), that didn't play the generic top 40's or god forbid those "did they really put that on" jams like the Electric Slide and Macarena. Well fear not because DJ Del was the exact opposite of what we'd consider to be our ultimate nightmare! Del was the ideal DJ for our wedding. He never once tried to steal the show and really did a wonderful job getting the crowd engaged. His mixes were on point and did the most fantastic job playing the songs we had wanted - in fact I found out later on that he pretty much took my sample list (by sample I mean full 10 hour set list of well over 200 songs) finding which ones worked the best to create both our dinner & dance list for the night. If you are looking for an on-point, energetic and not cheesy DJ well Del is the man for you. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a DJ on Maui - he won't disappoint! read more

DJ Del is the best!! He came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator, Tropical Maui Weddings, for our wedding at Olowalu Plantation House in Lahaina two weeks ago, and I'm so very glad that he did. He kept everything flowing very nicely for our 30 person crew without overdoing it. On more than one occasion, he even checked on us to see how we were doing, brought us drinks, updated us on the vibes that he was getting from our guests, and on and on... Not what I expected from our DJ.;) His music is great, but even better is his sense of humor - he used to be a stand-up comedian - so he can read a crowd and react accordingly. We cannot recommend him enough!! read more

This guy was amazing. He was such a pleasure to work with, he mixed all the music fabulously, he worked with me on planning the procession, he found me a live singer, and MC'd for me with no notice. He also worked very well with some difficult family members and checked my preferences on everything that needed to be run by me. There was even one point when I dropped and smashed my glass (not even near the DJ stand), and by the time I looked down, he was already picking the glass up off the ground! This guy takes such pride in his work and he does his job fabulously. Thanks DJ Del! read more

DJ Del Sol was perfect for our guests. We wanted a DJ that didn't play the typical wedding music. We wanted music that was modern and energetic for our guests. Not only did he play music that our guests like, but kept a great transition between songs. His transitions on songs that the guests didn't like were extremely subtle and smooth. We spoke a few days before the wedding to confirm songs. Unfortunately, the first dance song was misplayed. However, his energy was perfect! He engaged and interacted with our guests and even jumped on the dance floor a few times. His package was perfect, fairly priced, and included everything we needed! read more

DJ Del Sol is such a nice guy and an awesome DJ!! We wanted a DJ who wasn't going to make our reception a whole big production and who would match the laid-back vibe of our outdoor venue. He was definitely what we were looking for! We sent him a list of songs that we wanted played during cocktail hour and at the reception, and he told us it would be no problem at all. He told us that if he ran through our entire list and still needed songs, he would play songs with a similar feel to what we requested. The music was on point the entire evening, and we later found out that tons of our guests skipped dessert to continue dancing. DJ Del also served as our emcee for the reception, and he did such a great job! He was funny, sweet, and so friendly with our guests...we couldn't have asked for a better DJ! read more

DJ Del was a great choice for the wedding. His music choice was fantastic, he kept the energy high and set the perfect mood for the evening. His music choices we're perfect for dinner, classic standards that appealed to our diverse crowd. He turned it up for the dancing, and kept the party going all night long. Often you find lulls in the wedding, where people exit and take breaks. Not with DJ Del, the party went all night until people could dance no more! The thing we appreciated above all else - he was a great guy and helped us with the little things throughout the night. He got us drinks, always was checking in, and even helped pack up the cars at the end of the night. Great DJ, but also a great guy and a perfect choice for our wedding. read more

DJ Del is awesome! When we had our meeting before the wedding he had great energy. He explained how to cut the cake for excellent photo opportunities, we went over the timeline and provided great advice, like having the father of the bride and groom speeches at our rehearsal dinner to save on time. At the wedding, he went above and beyond by assisting Aloha Bars Maui. He made sure the groom and I always had a drink in hand and made sure we were hydrated. DJ Del played all the songs on our playlist and even played a song that brought back memories for most of our guests. DJ Del is highly recommended and made our day so memorable and fun! read more

I had a destination wedding in Maui this past May and DJ Felipe "Del Sol" was awesome!! He was highly recommended to me by a family friend who's family member also used him for their wedding. He was very professional and personable. He played all the right music, accommodated to guest music requests and consulted me on questionable guest music selections. He definitely understood and felt out the mood of the crowd and played the right music the entire night. I forgot to choose an introduction song and told him just to play any love/island song. He played the perfect song, I couldn't have chosen any better! It's become one of our favorite songs. He was also a great MC and kept the flow and timing of events which allowed me to sit back, have fun, and enjoy my wedding. It couldn't have been any more perfect. So many of my guests came up to me during and after my wedding reception to tell me my DJ was really good and super cool. Good music can make or break a wedding, and DJ Del Sol did a perfect job! I highly, highly recommend him! Thank you DJ Sol!!! read more

Del was a huge part of our wedding from start to finish. He worked closely with us during the planning to ensure that we had everything we needed from a ceremony sound system to DJ and Master of Ceremonies services and more. Del has a great personality and made the planning process a breeze as he was super organized. My fiance had a few specific versions of songs that she wanted )some of them just snippets of the song) and Del responded back to her quickly letting her know that was no problem at all. He really made her feel at ease that everything was going to go smoothly on our wedding day...and it definitely did. Owning a DJ company myself I must say I was pretty amazed at the quality of gear that Del used for our ceremony. Knowing just how important a ceremony is means that he's not going to leave anything to chance...and it sounded great! At our reception Del was the definition of a Master of Ceremonies. He ran the show from start to finish and did so in a fun yet professional manner so that our guests felt at ease interacting with him. As a special surprise to my fiance I brought in one of her favorite musicians to sing our first dance. Del knew this was a surprise so as the musician was coming out to setup Del distracted my fiancé by coming over to our head table and talking to her on the mic. When Del knew that the musician was set he simply asked the two of us to follow him to the dance floor for our first dance...and only then did my fiance see the musician and she was completely surprised. I think there are a lot of DJ's that can mix and mash music well and Del is no exception in that regard but it takes a lot of talent, practice, and hard work to truly become a Master of Ceremonies. Of course Del kept the dance floor packed all night and was even able to bring some extra gear for us (highly recommend renting his lasers and extra sub if your venue will allow it). His ability to jump between genres and properly mix songs together is unparalleled. On top of all that, Del worked well with our meeting planner and was very involved throughout the evening. Overall, I would highly recommend Maui Wedding DJ for not only their DJ services but also their Master of Ceremonies services and specialty lighting. read more

DJ Del was an awesome DJ for our wedding. He kept the night running smoothly, and our guests were raving about the music selection afterwards. Me being American and my husband being Aussie, we had a mix of guests from both, and Del did a great job of playing popular songs from both countries...I'd imagine a lot of DJs wouldn't necessarily know popular Aussie party songs, so we really appreciated that. My only criticism is I sometimes had to follow up on emails a couple times before getting a response, but in the end everything came together and we had a great night! read more
