Worst of all, these people advertised to have people vacation at their campground when the fires hit Maui. They did not open their doors to locals to give them a place to stay. They encouraged travelers to come vacation - even after Ed Sniffen, Hawaii's director of transportation strongly discouraged travel due to needing airlines and roads cleared to help aid people in need. I would give 0 stars if I could.

But above all that, three things stood out 1. The host! Claudia was the ideal host: extremely friendly and welcoming, but also happy to let us have our privacy and enjoy the property. 2. The pool! What could be better than a private pool with a view of a volcano? According to my 5 year old, not much! We loved being able to splash and play every day. The house also has a great supply of pool toys (floaties, balls, loungers) available. 3. The fruit! The house is surrounded by orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees, and after a quick tour and instructions from Claudia, we were welcome to pick whatever we'd like. My in-laws were particularly delighted by the chance to have fresh passionfruit. It was an upcountry Maui experience we won't forget.

Best of all, the beach is literally about 10 steps away, making it easy to relax and watch the honu (sea turtles) during sunset, such a special experience. The unit came well equipped with a king-size bed, a full kitchen, microwave, a fridge, and all the basics you'd need for a comfortable stay. We were also given two keys, which made it convenient to access the pool and hot tub. Our lanai had an amazing ocean view and became our favorite spot to enjoy meals and unwind. I've honestly never stayed anywhere that felt so peaceful and relaxing. While the property may look a bit dated, that's part of its Maui charm. We booked the room through Airbnb, but it's also available directly through My Perfect Stays. My only wish is that checkout were a bit later, 11am instead of 10am, since we had a red-eye flight home and a lot of time to fill on our last day. Still, an amazing stay overall that I'd happily return to.

We hoped the dishwasher got warm to clean the dishes. We alerted Myperfectstays the next day of the issues. They said they would have someone come by and keep us updated. Nobody came by and no response received. Stained towels and cleaning wasn't great. We had friends staying in unit #107 and their dryer didn't work so they came and used ours. We've stayed many times in other resorts up and down the West side of Maui that were impeccably nice. We have stayed with this management company in the past with no problem. I spoke with the onsite management regarding the water issue is how I found out of the one hot water tank. She said she'd have Greg come by and check to see if it were a power surge? The house has two separate homes: one is located upstairs with 1 bedroom, bathroom and updated kitchen; downstairs is relatively the same but features a bigger bed and bigger bathroom with a tub. The house is surrounded by windows which allows for a little breeze. Unfortunately, when we were visiting Paia it was extremely humid and even the fans didn't help with air circulation. Pros: The kitchen and bathroom in the upstairs unit was completely updated and the downstairs the bathroom and bedroom had a updated feel. You were able to hear and see the ocean from the top stairs and cook or barbecue on your stay. The grounds were also beautiful. It was also within walking distance from downtown which made it really nice. Cons: The screen doors were very flimsy and hard to close (could be updated) The upstairs bedroom was very small and wasn't the most comfortable for two adults. Although the grounds are beautiful, the grass could of been mowed to cut down on the mesquites due to the heavy rain. They had the sprinklers running but made no sense due to all the rain (it made everything wet). All ocean facing, beautiful grounds, so SERENE and very well kept. Before Malea and Ryan there were issues with accountability when something went wrong in a unit. My last 5 visits, they took care of ANY issue, often when it wasn't their jobs. So- management is STELLAR These condos are ON MAALEAA BAY. The whales BREACH right there. The outrigger club paddles by every morning. Egrets chase the gardeners around. It's seriously paradise. If you like water slides, lots of people- this is not your place. The most people you will see is at sunset when the condo owners all bring there conch shells down to blow for the sunset. It IS a killer location tho. Close to all the Kihei stuff, not far from Lahaina or Paia. 2 pools, 2 groups of condos surrounding each pool. Beach is public but the only people you see are people walking by- otherwise it's quiet. Don't be an idiot, this place is AMAZING. JUST GO. Just not when I want to, DAMMIT!!
