Wonderful lady! A friendly, professional happy place! When I came back an hour later our very submissiive 8yr old yorkie was mingling with another little dog and smiling like she was on a playdate. 5 stars! read more

The owner is very gentle and sweet, calm and patient. She only does smaller dogs, and also will do drop ins for nail trims and anal glands. The dogs don't go in cages and there is a play area, for day care, and after cuts. It is also so calm, not like PETCO, and i've seen them be rough and impatient in petco. She has been owner for a couple of years, NOT the one from a few years ago who was bad. I would only take my dogs to her. read more

She did a great job! Super happy just worried about mixing of the dogs, because my neighbor said her little dog got bit. My shih Tzu is pretty little. read more

She is super friendly and trims both of our frenchies nails quickly. Our dogs love to go in to the Maui Mutt Hut.

I have had three medium size dogs. All seniors and needing a little gentleness while grooming.. They always were happy when picking them up. Caring facility with a day care facility. Your dog isn't caged waiting for you. Grooming is always what I expect. Thank you Maui Mutt Hutt read more

my dog has been to was there this groomer twice. After the first grooming, I scheduled a follow up appointment while I was there. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that it was never put on the books and had to leave. They rescheduled the appointment via phone, so I called and left a message that I couldn't make that I took my dog to get groomed yesterday and after she was finished, she told me I owed her $65 for two no-shows!!! Then she was rude to me about it after I explained she had no-showed on me! read more

Thankfully, Maui Mutt is open!! Sally did a nice job with our dogs grooming needs, and we are picky. We were impressed, Sally is wonderful and patient with all the dogs in doggy day care. There are no cages, our dogs love the doggie jungle gym. p.s. It appears a disgruntled ex-employee has using false accounts and has been spamming this business with negative reviews. This abuse of Yelp reviews provides a false narrative of this professional business and owner. read more

Maui Mutt Hut - Pet Sitting Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

New owner is HORRIBLE and absolutely reprehensible! We brought our two dogs here for years and Randy was fantastic. They never informed us that it was changing ownership and the second that the new owners took over they immediately raised the prices with no warning. The last time we went she cut my dog's neck so deep we had to TAKE HIM TO THE VET TO GET STITCHES! Not only did she not call to inform us of the injury but never even offered to help pay for the vet bills and did not even give us a discount or comp both the service! I literally paid to have this woman maim my dog! The cut was 2 in long and an inch deep. And she had the audacity to blame it on my dog. They are 15lb. Never in my life have one my dogs ever been cut by a groomer if you really knew what you were doing you would not injure an animal. DONOT GO HERE! If I could give a negative review I would. Never ever going back. read more

Maui Mutt Hut - My dog cut on the neck by this groomer, required a vet visit and stitches plus antibiotics. Thanks for shitty haircut and the $500 vet bill. - Pet Sitting Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

Sally was awsome! Very friendly our doggy bit her and she was so sweet about the whole thing and is still willing to see him in a few weeks! He was a rescue and probably has been through alot and she realized that and really showed xoncern and love I would totally recommend this place ! Had a great first time experience and will continue to use her services read more

The Maui Mutt Hut is better than ever. I highly recommend Krista. It is a great space, with a play area, roomy, a/c, day care, beds, and drop ins for nails, and those anal glands. The dogs aren't in cages, and my old little timid dogs like going there. read more

They are under new ownership..... no one bothered to inform the clientele. They charged me nearly $100 for the worst grooming my dog has ever had. DON't GO THERE! Years of loyalty and I should have just cut my dogs own hair myself. Will never return and sad I took her today. PATHETIC. read more

I bought my dog there today for a grooming the women did not have any record of me or my dog I have been using this shop for the last five years and the previous two owners She called me at 1100 complaining that me dog was growling at her and she did not finish the job. LAST TIME. GOING HERE LEARN YOUR TRADE read more

Still feeling good about the place, but the place has new owners as of this July. The new owner seemed very knowledgable about animals, and she stated she had several years of experience. Our dog came out clean and happy. Prices were the same:$80 for a medium sized dog, wash, cut, dry, glands, etc. The nice smell was gone but it's not awful. Just slightly "animal place". The new owner mentioned they are painting and planning on improvements. Good luck to them! read more

New management is horrible. They don't listen to what the client says, and then will proceed to lie to your face over and over and over again. And then threatens to call the cops on you and told you to f* off. My mom dropped off my dog and told them to only shave under neath and her butt like a sanitary trim. Any groomer should know how to do this. The new groomer was so lazy to brush my dog, so she proceeded to cut 2 inches of her hair off by and due to the kind of breed she is it probably will never grow back how it was. She continued to lie to me and change her story about five times maybe six I couldn't keep up there was so many lies and contradictions. They claimed my dog was matted, I have about 10 witnesses that will say my dog was not matted. I just want to save someone else the hassle and also my dog gets really low self-esteem when her hair is short. So please stay away or just pick up a pair of clippers and do it yourself bc that's what's going on. They are also charging mobile dog grooming prices, but your getting someone with zero experience. I don't even know how you would buy a business not knowing what you're doing. Sad, some people are just in it for the money, and don't care what they are doing that affects people. #greed #noshame The pic with the caption was an hours before the cut...Does she look matted to shave her whole body? read more

My husband and I adopted a dog from the Maui Humane Society. In the packette was a free grooming at the Mutt Hutt. I was so excited to get his first bath I wanted to post it on Face Book to show all our friends. There is a viewing window to watch. I took a picture of Cody getting his blow dry. A few moments latter the owner/groomer stopped what he was doing came out where we were with my dog he shoved his cell phone in my face. i had no idea what he was doing I just looked at him . He asked me how it felt then he told me I was invading his personal space and mocking him he told me he wasn't there for our entertainment. I told him I just wanted a shot of his first bath and meant no harm. I was and still am in shock. read more

Great place! Left with a happy little mop-dog who was no longer edging towards Rastafarian. My parents' Havanese puppy is their first foray into 'small dog' world after a lifetime of Malamutes, and that undercoat took advantage of a few days of going unbrushed and went out-of-control matted. Randy did a great job with her, and when I picked her up she was thrilled with life and bouncing around with a goofy Lab probably fifteen times her weight. Clean, professional facility, very nice and obviously caring owner, skilled work, and will return. Thanks! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I want to support this business. I adopted Seamus from the Humane Society and got a FREE bath and full grooming from Mutt Hutt! He donates his time as a "thank you for saving this dogs life"! Thats Awesome! I was so surprised and stoked/nervous (for Seamus). Randy was awesome with my pup. He tested to see how he would react to combing him because Seamus had some matting and just came from the shelter a week prior :( He was very gentle and didn't push Seamus when he demonstrated he didnt like having his dreads combed out, because ouch that hurts. Instead he was calm and patient until Seamus settled down. When I picked up my pup smelled so nice, had a cute bandanna, had no matting and was happy! He wasn't showing any signs that the experience was traumatic at all. Instead he was wagging his tail and all excited. And that makes me happy. read more

We love the Maui mutt hut! We've been taking our two dogs here for over a year now. Randy's service is the best. He truly loves dogs and what he does. He has consistently done a great job with grooming our two dogs a poodle and a Pomeranian. He also let's you leave your dogs for 4 hours when you leave them to get groomed which is great for running errands and also giving our dogs time to play with the other dogs. Randy the owner is so sweet and you can feel that he cares. I highly recommend! read more

My baby girl Pua! Has been going to Randy at Maui Mutt Hut for as long as he's been open in the Kihei location. She always comes out sparkling clean and a tropical bandana or seasonal holiday print banbana on her, so adorable. Today, she had a teal blue and white plumeria design bandana on.SO CUTE! She also does doggy daycare with Randy and(her woof woof, friends) as I go into town for business. Good to have her socialize as she has great friends there. I love it but most of all......Pua loves it. read more

Just took my dog to the new owners great service and very kind

We have had our two dogs groomed here and Randy did a fine job with both. We didn't experience any of the strange behavior that has be described in previous reviews posted here. We did have to leave and get cash but he didn't charge us for doggy daycare while we did this. I guess we missed seeing the cash only sign, if there was one posted. Bottom line: Randy did a good job with no drama. read more

Had our dog in for a bath and a cut. TERRIBLE JOB. The dog was traumatized, shaved so close on his snout that he is bleeding, his paw pads are red and inflamed from being trimmed too close. He's a mess. Seemed like nice people, dogs in day care looked happy but this was the worst possible experience. read more

This place is under new ownership. The owner and groomer didn't follow instructions, provided services not requested and then demanded payment for the I requested services. Payment was made so I could get my dog but when I thought about it, I asked for a refund, which was denied. This lady is rude and a crook. Do not take your pet to her for any services!!! read more

Worst grooming ever! We have had our dog groomed every 4-6 weeks for 4 years. This groomer used the clippers (one length on body and legs) and did no hand trimming. Didn't touch her head, tail or feet. Our dog is a miniature golden doodle, 28 lbs.. we were charged $40 more than we have ever paid. My daughter pays about the same for her doodle that is 70lbs. There was also an almost bald, mangy looking dog with open bloody sores wandering loose in the room. When I requested that my dog not be allowed near this animal, she acted like I was crazy. If I could give this a minus score I would. read more

STAY AWAY! New owners are careless, unprofessional hacks who do minimal work and charge full price. They cut my dogs face and didn't have the courage to say anything. I noticed dried blood on his cheek during the ride home. read more

Brought dog in with tangles, specifically went over the areas of issue. They handed him back to me with a bath nothing more. I said what happened to getting the tangles out? She charged me $80!!!!! For a bath I could have done myself. New owners are lazy. Sorry wont be using this place anymore. Its a shame they used to be great before it was sold read more

No. Not recommended. Not one bit. We took our dog there for a basic bath and trim. The same that we had been doing for the last almost two years. They have new owners. Emphasis on the word "new". They dont have a clue about this kind of business. Our dog came out of there looking like she had been done over by a 4 year old with moms sewing scissors. Total mess. I went back the next day and told them I'll be back for one more go of it when they're through learning. Judging by the reviews...the havent, so I wont. read more

This is My second review ever but I feel it's important to warn people who have a long haired dog that this new owner as of one or two months ago has no idea how to trim my dog. Christa was wonderful and my dog never made a sound once Christa took her lovingly from my arms. The minute this new woman took my Sweet girl I could hear the barking Which was obviously a cry to "get me the hell out of here " but I decided to take a chance and waited till she Calmed down. She never barks except when someone comes to the door. Dogs have a seventh sense... I should have listened. I came back only to find my dog would have been better off had I trimmed her Myself but it takes being a professional at least once every eight weeks.I told the owner that she had forgotten to trim the Fur on her legs, feet and other parts of her body and she attempted to improve on the spot. I gave her an added chance to improve on her mistakes which was A waste of time. She had covered her with a cute dress and now I know why. Sound mean? No I paid $80 and will have to go somewhere else. I asked to see pictures of her work before I handed off my girl and she did not have any nor were any of the day cares there for a trim. My guess is this was the only business on Maui for sale. Her daughter Who is very sweet, said she had been in the business five years as I had also asked that question. How do I know? No certificates on the wall. When am I going to learn that trust is not always the right way to go? I believed that five years was a long enough time from apprenticeship to professional. Wrong!! Again nothing on the wall or anywhere to prove that. Save losing your cool and money and try Wailuku or possibly the mobile lady furdresser. . I would've had to of put Post-it notes all over my dogs body to bring attention to the improvements needed. I posted pictures on her phone today to see how she had missed so many spots, her whole coat looking like it had been cut with a lawnmower. So sad as my dog really felt comfortable with Christa and came out looking beautiful every time as it should be. She will never see my pom again Which is a relief for her, my girl of course. read more

This place is awesome! I cannot recommend it enough! The staff is so friendly, and their prices are great! Complimentary 4 hours of "play care" with grooming so I dropped my dog off in the morning for his bath and was able to leave him there while I ran errands all morning and he got to play with other dogs. I can't get over how reasonable the prices are! We paid half of what we used to pay of the mainland for grooming!! I will definitely be bringing my dog back here for all of his bathes from now on! read more

We loved Krista and we love the new team. We have taken our dog there several times including once for a bath and toe nail trim since the new folks took over and have no complaints. This guy was very rude and unprofessional. We made an appointment for our dog and unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute due to a flat tire. As soon as I asked to reschedule he hung up on me. I called back thinking we were disconnected and he said he had hung up because how could he trust me to show? He was raising his voice and rude. I was speechless. I am so glad that I didn't take my dog to someone with such a short temper who would treat his customers this way. read more

I've been taking my fur-baby to Randy since we adopted her. Randy always does a great job, and my girl always looks fabulous! The 4 hours of play-time is also very nice, allows me time to drop her off and be able to run other errands and not have to be back at a specific time. read more

While on vacation we adopted two kittens from the Maui Humane Society and needed to find boarding since the shelter didn't have room. We are heavily please that we chose Maui Mutt Hutt. Krista was amazing and showed the kittens so much love. We felt very comfortable with her and her company's services. I highly recommend them. The price was also fantastic, but price is not the main factor if service is not good. With Krista and Maui Mutt Hutt, you get both great service at an excellent price. It is a win win!
