The owner has curated a collection of locally made body products, clothing, holiday ornaments and beautifully hand crafted jewelry. The prices are surprisingly reasonable too. Most all of our gifts and treasures were bought from this wonderful community of artists. The sales staff were like old friends - from the moment we entered, we felt at home. My suggestion to anyone visiting Lahaina is to head directly to the friendly faces at Island Living, and make sure you leave extra space in your luggage because you won't leave their store empty handed.

However, even though the mall has been remodeled, I still feel that it doesn't have the stores it needs to make it a nice flowing mall. It's pretty desolate and not very many people visiting them all. I think if they had some better stores at the mall, it would do much better. I remember that you could access the Safeway store at the corner from the mall. But now you have to go out of the mall and into the Safeway. And the Safeway is a large, super Safeway.

There is a large selection of dresses, aloha shirts, T-shirts and souvenirs, the kind that you find on Front Street so you are getting a real bargain here on the exact same stuff you would find a lot more expensive elsewhere. We visit Front St multiple times during each trip to the island and we stopped into Whalers twice in the last week. It's just a general store with a few trinkets/souvenirs. We bought some bottled water for the afternoon walk around Lahaina town. Cost is pretty much on par with island pricing. They also have snacks/chips/etc. In the past we have bought additional items. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is really the size. It's quite small compared to places like ABC Store but I'd rather support a local business than a corporate spot like ABC.
