I was so delighted with our beautiful arrangements I would like to acknowledge the company and recommend the service. We were retuning to Maui to stay at the Kaanapali Alii for 10 glorious days. May 24 is my birthday and my husband wanted to order some local flower arrangements for the condo: a smaller one for the bedroom and a larger one for the living area. I called the concierge before arrival to inquire about a florist they could recommend, she immediately told me about A Special Touch. She said that the owner does exquisite flower arrangements with local flowers. They were delivered five minutes after we arrived at our condo and I was so impressed by how beautiful they were, I had to acknowledge and recommend this special Lahaina florist. I was directed to their website so that I could cruise the different kind of arrangements and price ranges. There were a lot of different selections and they all looked gorgeous. When I called to place the order, I asked the owner which would best fit our space and our tastes. Upon her suggestion, we ordered the "Hawaiin Stlyle Tropical Centerpiece" and the "Jewel Tone Tropical Centerpiece" The prices were quite reasonable and we spent $222.00 for both including delivery. She was so kind, accommodating, and genuinely helped us put our money towards things that were necessary. We could tell that Terrie was working from her heart and not from a place of profits or just sales; which meant the world to us because we were already wayyyy over our wedding budget. She worked extremely hard to make sure we were happy; we felt bad that she would even take our calls after hours and while she was in her car. Every time we spoke to her it felt like family or as they say in Hawaii "Ohana." We wanted something super simple that complimented the natural beauty of the flowers and trees that were already at our venue..."I mean it is Maui," and that's exactly what she did. TERRIE ASKED US A REALLY GOOD QUESTION. Although we didn't have a bridal party for our wedding, she suggested boutonnieres and wrist corsages for our parents and siblings, and we originally opted out. She didn't push it but said that it was a great way to honor our immediate family and we later agreed. Our family members felt super special so my ADVICE is to listen to Terrie, she knows what she's doing. I wish we met her early on because she would have kept us more calm and relaxed but everything all worked out since she was kind enough to stop by our wedding during the set up and after. She contacted me and we discussed via phone what my budget was and how many centerpieces, bouquets, etc I would need. She explained what flowers were in season and suggested based on the colors I wanted what we could include that was in my range. I trusted her implicitly and she came through! She provided concrete planters (that, btw, she makes herself!) which she had suggested black based on the white table clothes so that the color of the flowers would pop. She also did a beautiful flower ring for us, my bouquet, some boutonnieres, and all of the table flowers. She was on site to set up the flower ring, make sure all of the flowers were set up on the tables and she was there at the end to break everything down. I certainly have a type A personality so I really wanted to make sure we worked with someone that we could absolutely depend on to make our special day perfect. We can easily say that Maui's Angels delivered on that! My husband and I live in NYC and recently got married at Ponomakena Sanctuary in September. Believe it or not, our entire planning experience was really fun and stress-free all thanks to Ali! She kept me calm even during moments where most brides would completely freak out. Ali doesn't just coordinate timelines and manage&negotiate vendor contracts. She goes above and beyond to provide impactful ideas and alternative suggestions. Like many brides, selecting color palettes, fabrics, flowers, lighting, furniture, etc. aren't things I've ever had to do before. Thankfully, Ali is so knowledgeable in each area that her expertise helped us easily make decisions. I actually struggled with describing the sort of vision I was aiming for. Whenever I looked on Pinterest for inspiration, nothing ever matched my style exactly. Despite my limited examples, Ali somehow managed to truly understand what I was going for! She put a twist on my Pinterest pins so that the style of our wedding would be original and true to our personalities! When our flight to Hawaii for our wedding was delayed an entire day, she was quick to reschedule our marriage license appt which we would've missed. It even rained during our ceremony, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference; no one was panicked by it. By the time the rain stopped, you honestly wouldn't have even known it rained at all because all of our chairs and glassware were dry and spotless by dinner time. Ali teamed us with some of the best vendors on the island who all worked together to continue to make things run so smoothly that the rain wasn't even a concern at all. We can't even imagine how our wedding would've turned out if it weren't for Ali! Not only is she great at what she does, but she has an amazing personality which are two really important factors when choosing a planner. I would jokingly refer to her as my professional maid of honor because not only would she keep things in order, but she kept me calm and shared in our level of excitement all throughout the process. She's so passionate about what she does that she equally aims for perfection which put us at tremendous ease. I didn't even know where to begin or how I was going to trust any of these people with my wedding location so far away from NW Ohio. I searched for over two months! Theresa was one of the first websites I found and something kept bringing me back to her. So after two months I followed my heart (or gut) and emailed Theresa. She replied within a day. She new exactly what she was doing and after a few emails and phone calls everything was taken care of. On September 13th we arrived in Maui. I was attracted to the wooden starfish, zippered turtle coin purses, and other souvenirs outside. Inside, they have a dizzying array of jewellery, wooden artefacts, and wood handicrafts a little different from your standard Maui souvenirs. All at VERY low prices. I purchased a lava chakra bead bracelet, a mystic topaz ring, two blue topaz rings, and some smoky quartz earrings. They had rose quartz, amethyst, mystic topaz and others, but their stock leans mostly to Quartz, in various types. They had beautiful Indonesian Wayang Golek puppets, for only $35 which is a steal, and many other Thai/Indonesian looking mirrors, and other wooden handicrafts that are appealing. My friend bought necklaces for $15/$25, and we left Maui with a big bag full of beautiful jewellery pieces, at really cheap prices. This store can get crowded, and the staff was nice and friendly, despite the constant rushes of people lingering around counters, trying on pieces and looking into mirrors. Wooden boxes for $5, earrings less than $10- a super place for nicer gifts than the usual souvenir shops in the area. Definitely worth a look!
