Our experience was great! Daphne was more than helpful. Her and her staff would pick us up near the cruise port and they would drop us off at the cruise ship. They charged the vehicle overnight for us and it was ready to go the next day. The vehicle was in great shape and fun to drive. We definitely recommend using Maui EV! read more

We had an absolutely amazing experience renting a Tesla from Maui EVs! From start to finish, the entire process was seamless, convenient, and stress-free. Rowell was fantastic picking us up from the airport, and Daphne was just as wonderful dropping us off at the end of our trip. Both were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel so welcome! The Tesla was perfect for exploring Maui, especially the self-driving and we couldn't have asked for a better rental experience. We'll definitely be renting from Maui EVs again when we return to the island! Hopefully, they'll expand to more Hawaiian islands so we can continue renting from them wherever our travels take us. Mahalo to the entire team for making our Maui vacation even more memorable! read more

Maui EVs - Car Rental Near Me - Maui, Hawaii

Daphne and Maui EV was very accommodating with early pickup and providing rides back to the port each day. And the vehicle was spotless.

Our experience was great! Daphne and her staff were more than helpful. They offered to would pick us up near the cruise port and they would drop us off at the cruise ship. They charged the vehicle overnight for us and it was ready to go the next day. As virgin Tesla drivers they were very patient teaching us about the functions of the car. The vehicle was in great shape and fun to drive. We definitely recommend using Maui EV! read more

Drove off with EV 5 minutes after arriving to their location (we didndo all the online license upload etc). Our car was in for repair for two weeks. Had almost full charge on it and they assured us no worries on whatever charge it had upon return. For any visitor, this is valet level pick up service and airport return with no hassle. Luxury is yours and an EV car! read more

Short walk from the cruise port, and Daphne was amazing--especially helping us as first-time Tesla drivers. * Outstanding service * Best prices * Locally owned Way better experience than the large rental chains. Super friendly team, easy phone-as-key setup (way better than traditional keys), and the Tesla was spotless. Support local Hawaiian businesses! read more

We rented a Tesla Model Y from Maui EV for a week. Daphne picked us up from the airport and showed us the ropes of driving a Tesla. Drop off went without a hitch. Their office is a short drive from the airport. Communication before we arrived and during our stay was excellent. Everyone was very friendly. There's a new super-charger near the Target that served most of our charging needs. read more

We decided to rent a Tesla to enjoy the glass roof along the Road to Hana, and regenerative braking coming down from Haleakala. We saw their excellent reviews and were expecting a pleasant experience. And we could not have been more delighted! We needed to change the arrival time after we booked the reservation, and this was done cheerfully by phone. We were met at the airport, promptly and cheerfully, and since we were new to driving a Tesla, we got a quick but effective explanation. The car was clean, inside and out, and fully charged when we picked it up. Drop-off was even easier - again they accommodated our change in departure time, and dropped us at the airport. Both check-in and drop-off were done online, without any paperwork. Highly recommended! By the way, I also highly recommend driving a Tesla up and down Haleakala instead of a conventional vehicle. It is 100% quiet, and super easy, especially coming down (you use the accelerator to indicate if you want to speed up or slow down, and the car handles the rest and recharges the battery along the way). read more

Rented a Hyundai Ioniq the week of Christmas '25 and had a great experience all around. Paperwork was all done in advance online. Things which are normally a hassle (like adding additional drivers) were a breeze. Tom the owner even personally helped us out when we needed a special charging interface for our new home solar system. The car was in top condition when we picked it up and was an absolute thrill to drive. Highly recommend MauiEvs.com ! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this entire rental process!!! We searched all the regular rental car places first, and then came across the Maui EV website and the price was even better, the amenities more generous, the response time incredible, and ultimately the service outstanding, and seriously, we got to drive a Tesla Model 3 for the week. For exactly 7 days, we got the car, 2 beach chairs & an umbrella included, and extra driver for no extra $ and NO gas for $413 total! Daphne & Ruth were our contact people. She texted us ahead of time to confirm flights, was there at the airport when we arrived, answered our texts throughout the week, even drove back to meet us at the office mid week when we asked for an additional outlet plug (slow but convenient for where we were staying) If I ever go back to Maui, I am 1000% renting a Tesla from Maui EV again! read more

Five stars like everyone else. We did the paperwork in advance, Daphne brought the Nissan Ariya to us outside baggage claim at the rideshare hailing area, and then we just got in the car and drove away. We stayed in Wailea, drove the road to Hana, and used the inexpensive DCFC in Kihei which was pretty stress-free. We then moved to Lahaina for two days where charging was a little more challenging and there is no DCFC. This led me to worry a bit but in retrospect we were fine and I really didn't need to. On the return day, I emailed Daphne to let her know our time of return and everything from there was straightforward and easy - we got dropped off at the airport entrance and were relaxing inside the terminal fifteen minutes later. FYI cost to public charge over the whole trip was $15, or half the price of the bag of popcorn we bought at the Grand Wailea. read more

I originally booked with Budget an electric car for the week. The day before the trip I checked to see if my fast break was on the reservation and after the run around including going to the local budget, I find out it's not on it. After some quick research I chose to go with Maui EV's. I was able to speak with Daphne and she could not have been more helpful. Within minutes my vehicle was booked and she was communicating the day of the trip to ensure someone would be there with my vehicle when the plane arrived. Our travel was delayed and we didn't arrive until after 11pm. They were there ready with our vehicle so we could get on our way. The vehicle was clean and for the week I spent less than a half and hour and $30 to charge it. Way cheaper than gas would have been. Returning the vehicle was just as easy. Will definitely be using them again for our next visit!!! read more

We rented from Maui EV while on a Hawaiian cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. For our party of four, we booked a two-day rental and chose Maui EV because of their convenient location (less than a 15-minute walk from the cruise terminal) and the fact that they allowed us to park the car overnight at their lot with free charging -- a huge plus since other overnight options were limited. Although their main fleet is Teslas, I decided to try a Hyundai Ioniq, and I loved it. The car was spotless, in excellent condition, and this was my first time driving an EV -- a great experience all around. Having our own car gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace, which was a welcome change from the pricey and structured cruise excursions. Communication with Maui EV was excellent from start to finish. They kept in touch with clear emails before the rental, and all the paperwork was completed in advance, making pick-up the fastest I've ever experienced. While they offered to pick us up near the terminal, we chose to walk, but we gladly accepted their offers for rides back to the ship after dropping the car off overnight, at the end of the rental, and again the next morning. Their flexibility and friendliness really stood out. The service could not have been better. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant, accommodating, and eager to make sure we had a great experience. The price was very reasonable, the car was excellent, and the overall experience was outstanding. We would rent from Maui EV again in a heartbeat. read more

Amazing customer service and response time!! We appreciate your rental service loaning and dropping off a car when we weren't able to get a rental from enterprise. read more

Just wrapped up our time in Maui and wanted to give a huge shoutout to Daphne, Tom, and the whole team at Maui EVs! From our initial booking, to dropping off the car, the team was super responsive and answered all questions almost instantly. We rented a model 3 for casual use while staying in Kihei and really appreciated that they provided not only the J1772 adapter, but also the CCS adapter and mobile charge kit since the supercharger is still under construction on the island. The car itself was clean, free of any smells, and drove like a dream. We also appreciated that they give you mobile phone access so your phone becomes the car key. We would just walk up to the car, open the doors, and drive off! A nice bonus was that they provided some good quality beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use during our stay which allowed us to sneak in one last beach day after we checked out of our Airbnb. We will definitely be renting from MauiEVs for our next trip. Mahalo MauiEVs! read more

I wanted a change up from my usual Enterprise for my latest Maui trip and found these guys. My week long Tesla rental cost was very reasonable (maybe wished my toddler car seat rental was cheaper per day). Pick up at the airport was curbside and efficient. Although the Tesla operating guide is on their website, I still appreciated the in-person tutorial having never driven one. Departure was stress-free as we didn't have to worry about charging it to 100%. The car was clean and operated well, and I wouldn't hesitate to rent from this company again. read more

Great place to rent a Tesla or other EV. Near airport and cruise dock. The best customer service, had Daphne help me add the Tesla app to my iPhone and set up my music. Also provided service to the cruise dock. Daphne was a sheer pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this company! read more

Maui EVs are your best rental option for Maui! Our flight to OGG got diverted to Oahu due to tsunami alerts and Daphne kept in contact with me over text messages. Our flight was able to connect back over to Maui nearly a full day later and she had the car curbside for us when we arrived! Also since our daily driver on the mainland is a Tesla we were able to use the Tesla app to unlock & lock the rental Tesla & benefit with my cloud profile for seat, mirror, and steering wheel settings... it was like driving my car at home, but in Maui! Like the car, loved the service! Will only book thru Maui EVs for our return trips! Also took the car to Hāna and had a blast! Single pedal driving for the win! read more

Super easy way to rent a car, no shuttles or long lines. We walked across the parking lot from baggage claim and the car was there. Super easy to charge on the island if needed and great customer service if you needed it. We also found their tips for beaches and restaurants helpful and used the beach chairs provided in the car several times read more

I visit Maui a lot and I pretty much have always gone with Avis or Hertz. Well, Hertz took most of their EVs off the island and Avis charges a fortune. So somehow I found Maui EVs! First off, it's really nice to patronize a small, local business. More money stays on Maui and away from a corporate headquarters/nationwide advertising/loyalty programs - basically all of the overhead that Maui EVs eliminates. Secondly, they let me add the Tesla to my phone, which made renting it just so, so much better than using that stupid card that is the only way to unlock with Avis (and former Hertz) rentals. I also took them up on airport drop-off and the chairs and umbrella. To say I'd do this again is an understatement - I can't wait to do this again! I didn't start with them looking for something better than the national brands - I was just looking for an EV for my trip. But what I found was a lot more than that! So, so good! read more

Maui EVs is the best and most convenient car rental option. Pricing was even cheaper than using Turo! Prior to my trip, they reached out to me with instructions for them to pick me up from the airport. Yes, they bring the car to YOU! AND they drop you off at the airport! The staff was super friendly and gave wonderful recommendations for me and my family during our Maui stay. We rented a Tesla Model Y and it was fully charged and clean all throughout. I've rented from different companies where 80% is considered fully charged but all that did was give me unnecessary anxiety. Thanks Maui EVs for being so considerate and being great at the little things that matter. Prior to my departure, I was contacted again to confirm drop off. My flight was at 7am which meant I had to meet them outside of business hours at 5:30am! I felt awful subjecting them to this, but they did it with a smile and dropped me and my family off at the airport on time. Based on price, convenience of airport pick up/drop off, cleanliness and reliability of the vehicle, and a friendly staff, Maui EVs is the only car rental option for me. See you next time. Mahalo! read more

I love the curb side pick up and the staff is super helpful. The personalized service is a reat way yo start off a trip.

I've been looking for a new car and never driven a Tesla before. Knowing I would be in Maui for 7 days. This was a perfect opportunity for me to test drive a Tesla by renting one. I had a bad experience during my last trip to Maui renting from Hertz. It took an hour to check in with a Hertz agent and another 30 mins waiting for our car to be cleaned and ready to use. I did a lot of research, there's not a lot of boutique rental companies for rentals but came across Maui EVs. So glad I did. The booking process was really easy, I did all the paperwork online. I sent a few questions and always received quick responses. Upon arrival at the airport I sent a text message, and was picked up curbside outside of baggage claim. Anna helped me load my luggage into the car and kindly waited for us to set up a car seat in the back. She drove us to the office to finish up the process. I didn't have to lug all my luggage onto the tram and then wait in line at the car rental office at the Maui airport. After a long day of travel, I really didn't feel like waiting around for my car. The Maui EVs is offsite from the airport but only a few mins away. On our drive there, Anna showed us how to drive the car and helped us set up the driver profile. We were also given a code to access the car through the Tesla app. Not having to carry around a physical car key is a game changer! Especially when you're going to the beach. Or if you have more than one driver that needs to access the car. During my 7 day stay I didn't need to charge my car. But I could have charged it at the Airbnb I was staying at. What's helpful is, they don't require you to charge it prior to dropping it off on the last day. That saved me a lot of trouble and time and cost. Compared to when I rent gas cars( that charge upwards of $8 a gallon if you don't return it with a full tank. This was a great experience overall. This is a new company so all the cars are brand new. It's definitely a VIP experience to be picked up from the airport in your car rental. The pricing was very reasonable and even a little less than the chain car rental websites. I don't see how I could go back to renting from a car rental chain. I appreciate that the costs included taxes and it was all up front. Great customer service. I will definitely book my next car rental from here for my next trip. read more

This is a fantastic service, especially for Tesla owners visiting Maui! We've used this great firm for two consecutive years. For those who already have the Tesla app for their own car, Maui-EVs loads their rental Tesla on to your app. You can then use your phone to open and drive the car. It's also incredibly helpful when you arrive at Maui's airport - you can use your app to find exactly where your car is in the parking lot! You don't need to interface with anyone or stand in any lines. And as of 2026, there is a brand new official Tesla supercharger minutes from the airport. When you return the car, you just leave it anywhere in the airport parking lot and Maui-EVs comes to get it later. If you don't own a Tesla at home, I'd still recommend this service as a way to get a first hand experience with Tesla -- you'll be impressed! read more

We rented a Tesla for a week - Daphne picked us up at the airport and showed us how to use a Tesla - it was a great experience. Communication was excellent before and after the rental and the added bonus was the use of beach chairs, cooler and umbrella while we rented. Super easy and fast to charge - we only had to once and used the Tesla charger by Target. read more

Very personable service (gave me her cell number for any issues, stayed late for late returns), high quality vehicles that you don't need to refuel (think of the gas $$ you save), very economical compared to other larger rental companies. Best local rental company on the island! Do not hesitate to price shop. Then you'll come back to Maui EVs and realize that this company not only has the best prices but also goes above and beyond for their guests. Best rental experience I've had, and I travel quite a lot. I dealt with Ruth, and she was an absolute jewel. I had never driven an electric vehicle before and Ruth went through everything perfectly. She was patient, professional, friendly and helpful. I rented for two days. They charged the car overnight so I had a fully charged vehicle the second day. No extra charge for an additional driver. I have no complaints about my experience. Just praise. read more

Everything about this rental was perfect. I had never driven a Tesla, but I was given a quick review of the features. I was a little slower learning but after driving a few minutes, I picked it right up. We drove the road to Hana, so I loved that the car slowed way down after removing off the gas. Thank you so much for the Tesla rental! read more

WAY better cars than traditional car rental companies. WAY better value. WAY faster, friendlier process, from reservation and payment through pickup and return. Also simpler and more reliable than peer-to-peer rental through Turo. We'll be back! read more

Ed was great. He called us a day before to coordinate the pick up and when we dropped the car off he gave us a ride to where we could walk back to our cruise ship. We rented a Tesla model 3 to do the road to Hana and it was such a smooth ride and probably the most memorable thing we did on our trip. The price was reasonable and as a plus, we didn't have to worry about fueling before returning since it's electric and Ed doesn't request that it comes back fully charged. read more

The Tesla Model Y was like new and worked well. Cost was reasonable--no need to pay extra for a navigation app. But the best part was being greeted near baggage claim and driving off with our new rental. We go to Maui for our vacations quite often. So we thought we would switch things up from the big rental car companies at the airport. We also wanted to try out Tesla. I did some research and found Maui EVs a small local company. They picked us up at the airport in the Tesla and gave us a quick lesson on the operation of the screen and driving it. We enjoyed the car very much. It was very nice to drive. It was very clean and we found charging Farley easy. You do have to plan for some charging time. We found chargers at some of the beach's we liked. So we could enjoy the beach and charge. I would highly recommend trying Maui EVs if you want to drive a Tesla on vacation. When you're done you drive back to the Maui EVs lot and they drop you off at the airport. Great service! A+ read more

I recently visited Maui and had the pleasure of renting a Tesla Model 3 from Maui EV's. This could not have been any easier. They picked me up from the airport as soon as I had my checked bag and it was a very short drive to their adjacent lot where my car was all charged up, cleaned and ready to go. The car looked brand new and was spotless. I started with 100% charged and I had no problems with the rental for the entire week of my stay. I highly recommend this company, they are super friendly and full of the aloha spirit. Such a great experience with Maui EVs. We have a Tesla at home and couldn't stomach the idea of renting a gas car for our trip. This was a fantastic experience - email and text communication, pickup and drop off at the airport curb, and no need to return with a full charge. True the charging infrastructure on island is a little lacking, but they helped us find a new/less crowded option. Hope to return and have another chance to rent with them. read more
