He replied quickly, gave me a quote after I described the area I needed help with, and actually offered me a couple different times to come down and complete our landscaping. He and his crew really saved the day and actually ended up doing a little more work than quoted because they finished our project earlier than expected. Super happy we called Jonathon. He takes the hassle and headache out of the equation and can really give you a final product that you envision.

I contacted Jonathan to complain about the time he had charged but he was rude and kept texting me to the point I refused to answer him anymore as he was starting to harass me. His reply to me below is the tone to expect. I am Yelp Elite. I don't write a bad review just to annoy a local business. I write truthful reviews, I wouldn't be Elite if I didn't. Kurt's level of care and commitment is simply unparalleled, and his work shows the highest levels of experience and skill. He is very passionate about his work and a true artist in his field. Moreover, he is an extremely nice guy, and his rates are very competitive. Duval Tile & Stone recently tiled the entryway to our townhome in Wailea as well as a very large lanai in the back of our unit. When our unit was built in 2007, the cement pads laid by the builder were not level or "square", and over the years hairline cracks had developed in the cement. To ensure that the new porcelain tile that Kurt was installing for us would be level and resistent to developing cracks in the future, he had to do a significant amount of remedial work to level the cement pads and seal all existing cracks before laying any new tile. The best part about hiring Duval Tile & Stone is that the owner, Kurt Duval, actually does all of the tile work himself. Typically, you will only see the owner of a tile company two times: 1) when you get the initial bid, and 2) when you give him the final payment. That is definitely not the case with Kurt Duval. He is on the worksite EVERY DAY, doing all of the work himself. Why? Because he wants the job done right! Kurt's work ethic is truly amazing in this day and age! So, how did it all turn out? Well, Kurt did a wonderful job in installing all of the tiles. And, by the way, everyday he left the worksite neat and clean. Professionalism, integrity, and craftsmanship -- this is what Kurt Duval brings to the job. I contacted 18 handyman and contractors on Craigslist and Yelp. Seamus Ryan came out on top and I am sure glad I used him. A few did not even respond. A few did not do commercial work requiring metal studs. A few were not available for months. Some reasons for my 5 star review: 1. Cost: Very reasonable and very fair with required changes. 2. Flexibility: At the last moment we had to change the design of the project. Seamus was a great help help in that process with great ideas and did not walk off the project as many others would have. 3. Did anything and everything to get the job done: Originally planned to happen over 2 weekends while my tenants were not open, When we had an uncooperative tenant, Seamus was able to switch to nighttime work. Starting at 6PM going until midnight several nights and as late as 3AM one night just to get it done for the next sub to come in. 4. Jack of all trades: When the framer did not show up, Seamus did all the framing by himself in one night! A Hurculean effort! The same happened with the dry wall. 5.Excellent Communication: If you have ever dealt with trades and contractors on Maui, they are almost universally terrible communicators and often don't even show up; and do not answer calls or texts. Seamus was great. Texting me once that he was going to be a few minutes late. Unheard of in his industry. 6. Excellent results. The project ended up looking great and Seamus overcame every hurdle that was thrown at him. I will definitely use him again for my future projects. 7. Response time: Seamus lives in Kihei so he was able to come to the jobsite on short notice; like when the materials got delivered with no notice and needed to be unloaded into my space.
