EasyRent Real Estate Services

EasyRent Real Estate Services

The last two reviewers gave EasyRent great reviews. I like to see how like them after a few years…read moreof dealing with them (or rather not dealing with them). We rented from them for over 4 years. During that period, we called them twice with issues. The first time was to do with the central air conditioning unit. No one ever returned our phone call. The second time we emailed. The garburator stopped working over the weekend (things always break down over the weekend...). We got an email back on Monday saying they could get a plumber out but it might be at our cost if the issue was caused by us. So I researched online and fix it myself. The apartment was brand new when we moved in. After 4 years, there were a bit of wear and tear as one would expect. Not to mention, we thought we took care of our home compared to other apartments in the same building (we viewed other apartments since we wanted to stay in the same building). When we gave notice to move out, Easyrent was all of sudden a fly on s**t. We were given a long list of items to clean before moving out. We have a pet, so after a showing, we got a call warning us about the pet smell and the state of the carpet which it had to be professionally cleaned (a receipt must be shown to get our deposit back). Fair enough, on moved out, we hired a professional cleaner to clean everything in the apartment including washing the balcony and the parking spot. We were getting that feeling that no matter what we did we were not getting our full deposit back (which will be a first for us). We were pretty sure they wanted the apartment to return to its brand new condition like 4 years ago. Is that reasonable? During the inspection, all was good but a few walls where we had hung pictures and shelves that needed re-painting. Yes, patching was not enough, we had to re-paint for about $100 to $150! But the inspector said she would speak to the new tenant whether he cared. I said no problem and thanked her for helping us out. We ended the inspection with her telling me Easyrent had 15 days to return our deposit. A few days later, I got a call said the new tenant complained about the pet odour and we might be charged $150 for an ozone clean. Again I said no problem. 11 days later, I got a call said the new tenant was now complaining about the dirty blinds, but they would let go the pet issue. Why wasn't this brought up at the initial inspection? We got charged $150 for the blind clean. But not before, we were told we were getting off easy since the owner had to pay over $400 for re-painting. Remember I was told $150 would be charged for repainting, now apparently it will cost $400. When we questioned the inspector on anything, she quoted the tenancy act. Honestly, we didn't know much about the act. I just took her words for it since she was the professional. I absolutely didn't have a reason to believe she was telling me lies. But if that is way the act is set up, someone needs to fight to give tenants more rights. Especially when BC housing ownership is so expensive and most of us are renters. We were never late on our rent and obviously cost Easyrent nothing while we were tenants. All they did was just collected our rent cheques. Nothing above or beyond. We thought we kept our apartment in good condition especially after the professional cleaning. We were even told by the inspector we were good renters and to come back to them whenever. We didn't enjoy the BS from Easyrent weeks before and after moving out. My advice is don't rent from Easyrent, but if you already rent from them, don't ever move out.

I should have read the reviews before being exposed to their UNBELIEVABLE UNPROFESSIONALISM, their INCOMPETENCE, their ARROGANCE and their LACK OF BUSINESS ETHICS. I am a homeowner and a landlord myself and I teach a course on "Communication" at the university. I made an offer on a rental (as a part time city residence for myself) and THEY ASKED ME TO SEND COMPARABLE LISTINGS!! They did not receive my web application, I asked them what happened and Santam, the office guy, said I should send personal information and my Bio BEFORE they could send me a formal application. In the meantime, Maryam, who was working outside of the office and responsible for showings, kept texting me asking when I'd like to see the condo. I finally called and asked what kind of racket they were running and let them know that my realtor would contact the owners to advise them of their incompetence! Considering this tough market that is overrun by rental units flooding the marketplace, it is unconscionable to both operate and to treat a potential client in this manner. I advise you to read all reviews before dealing with EasyRent Real Estate Services!!!!! By the way, they asked me not to write a review....

Owners beware that this company…read more This, Vancouver Luxury Rentals, does not put much effort into renting your property. I was in-between stage where I was seeking to rent out my property, and also to rent a property. I responded to a rental ad by email, and there was no response. After several days, I called this company (Chelsea was at reception), no one picked up the phone. I left message. Again, this went on for days that I left emails and messages, and I didn't response for days. I called one day, and Chelsea picked up the phone. She asked me to fill out (as a renter) a number of things, such as my occupation to qualify to rent. Maybe this wasn't a bad thing. After I sent off the email, I got a response next day that I was qualified to rent the place. I asked to view at 4 pm or after the next day. Then again, no response, until I called again, leaving messages. Eventually, she replied to my email asking if mid-day of 11:30 am is okay. I'm working! Again, I asked for a time after 4 pm. Of course, she replies that they are either not working after 4 pm, or they have to arrange a time with the current renters. Again, time passes, no response. I finally call her and book a time that was during my work. It was 2:30 pm--I had to cancel my afternoon to see the house. As I was booking, I told her, they cannot cancel this, because I am canceling my afternoon for this. So, on the day of appointment, WHILE I was driving TO the appointment, she leaves me an email message that my appointment with Baxter (the guy who is supposed to show me the place) is canceled. His car was getting serviced, and it was taking longer, so he decides to cancel his showing. Interestingly, I called his cell number. It goes to voice mail. When I text him, to make sure that the appointment really was canceled, he texts me back in 5 seconds. He has the phone with him, but wouldn't pick up the phone. I told him this is not good, and he says unfortunately, his car is in service. He doesn't say "sorry" or "my apologies." He says it is unfortunate. If you are serious about renting your place, there are other ways. This was my experience. Take it or leave it.

Vancouver Luxury Realty knows nothing about luxury nor service…read more Baxter is flaky, does not return calls, lies about availabity dates, and generally wastes your time, costs you money, and provides needless aggravation. I can't imagine letting him manage my property because it's sit empty for months while he focuses on a few higher end units. His business can't be doing well because his clothes are not only cheap but worn, and he requires the tax deduction of putting his company name on a lowly used Porsche Cayenne which no one of any sense would do. His talk is cheap just like him. He gossips and doesn't respect client confidentiality, any fiduciary duty, and will provide information to others about you for a fee or favour. Stay away from him if you safety or security concerns. He will put you in danger with his low rent prejudiced attitude.

My wife was communicating through one of their agents Tasha Panico to schedule a viewing for a home they were managing. They had agreed to show us the place on 6 PM on a Wednesday (6 days ago). Tasha had asked to move the date earlier to Monday at 6 PM but my wife was working a late shift at the hospital and didn't have a chance to reply to her email until the following day where my wife confirmed 6 PM would be okay (Tuesday). Tasha explained she was busy that Tuesday and left it at that in the reply email. We of course assumed the viewing would go ahead for Wednesday at 6 PM and my wife emailed back apologizing about not getting back sooner and emailed back to confirm again 6 PM on Wednesday. She did not get a reply back but we did not think much of it at the time. We got to the viewing early on the Wednesday, sent one more email and also text messaged her that we were there, still no reply. We phoned her once at 6 PM but still no answer and then waited around and still nothing. Unfortunately we never got another answer from Tasha explaining what happened even though there was never any indication to us that plans had changed. The unit was subsequently rented so our interpretation is that she felt there was no point in showing us the rental however a simple message telling us so would've sufficed and would have saved us the time involved in making our way down to the viewing and waiting around. Again I hope this is a one off or there were extenuating circumstances but I feel that as a professional organization, communication is very important, and we felt there was a communication breakdown dealing with Tasha, who had been a good communicator up until that point.

My experience with their building manager, Bill Carthcart, and landlord, Elena Lagovschi, was terrible. Harassment and Threatening Behavior (January 17, 2025): While disposing of recycling during a fire evacuation, I briefly left a flattened box outside my door. After returning inside to calm my scared dog, I was startled by loud, aggressive banging. Bill stood outside yelling, swearing, and shoved the box into my doorway where I was standing. He pointed his finger in my face, falsely accused me of prior warnings, and continued yelling as other tenants opened their doors to see what was happening. It was terrifying. I was left in tears and shaken from the incident. I filed a police report. The officer informed me that had any contact been made, Bill would have been arrested. Lack of Property Management Accountability: I submitted my intent to move on January 19, 2025 due to the incident and hostile living environment, but was told by Elena Lagovschi, I'd forfeit my $2,600 security and pet deposit due to "liquidated damages." I asked for a formal apology from Bill--ignored. Landlord, Elena, dismissed the incident, saying Bill is a "nice man" who treats her and her "petite Asian coworker" with respect--an inappropriate and irrelevant comment that felt invalidating. She also told me I'd be sued because of the box. When I emailed about the distress this caused me, Elena responded with a single word: "Noted." Know Your Rights: Under Section 28 of the RTA, tenants are entitled to quiet enjoyment, privacy, and security in their homes. I did not feel safe or respected under this management. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. If you're looking for housing, please look elsewhere. There are better-managed, more respectful places to live in this city.

This review is coming from an apartment renter so it's the actual owner who is BirdsNest's client…read more I've been in my apartment for close to nine (9) years and BirdsNest has been the property manager for approximately 5- 1/2 years out of that time. BirdsNest had big shoes to fill as the apartment's previous property manager, ACD Realty, was absolutely first rate. And yet, BirdsNest quickly established itself as a worthy successor in every way. I find BirdsNest to be attentive, sensitive and responsive to tenant needs. And the staff does it in such a manner that I know I've been heard and fully understood; both of which assures me that I'm valued as a tenant. BirdsNest has a stable of very capable service technicians across all disciplines of home repair/maintenance. Any service call I've required has been attended to by service people of the highest quality in terms of their professionalism. They are prompt, dependable, courteous and BirdsNest never fails to monitor the length of time it takes for any service technician to respond to an apartment work order. I have also had several personal dealings with Alvin, one of the owners, and Alvin has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. He even personally delivered a temporary fridge to the apartment once, several years ago. The apartment refrigerator broke and was "down" for several days while a part needed to be ordered. I didn't even ask for the fridge but it was delivered and the gesture was much appreciated. Given my lengthy experience with BirdsNest I simply cannot conceive of anyone having dealings with this company that would not result in a near or complete 5-star review. Thanks to the entire BirdsNest team for delivering first rate service to this particular tenant. But a special shoutout to the department that handles all the repairs and apartment inspections.
