We took our sweet dog, Lily to this clinic for years. She started having seizures, I asked numerous…read moretimes why she was having seizures. The answer was she is a rescue so maybe she has a head injury, well you would think that test would be done to find out if that was the case, but no. I had to ask for an MRI which showed nothing wrong in the brain. I asked if they could do a lower extremity MRI/XRAY, etc. They did not feel it was necessary They kept our poor baby on multiple anti-seizure medications without investigating the issue that was causing the seizures. Long story short, Lily woke up one Sunday acting very ill. We took her to the animal ER and the vet found cancer of the spine which had spread due to being undetected. We had to put her down. It was awful. She was my soul dog! I miss her so much. Also, we had a cat that was a feral cat that we rescued, he had feline aids. He began to get sick and we kept asking what the prognosis was and each time getting an encouraging report that he would be okay. He ended up losing so much weight, he looked emaciated and Pine Ridge told us he would need to be hospitalized there for a couple of days which was a couple of thousand dollars. We had no problem paying the money if the prognosis was truly positive. Two days after the hospitalization he was still terribly sick. We asked the staff again if he was going to recover fully because he had lost so much weight and if he was in pain. They told us we should probably put him down. You mean to tell me they didn't know that two days prior? We had literally paid so much money to this clinic and the care for our beautiful pets was not a good experience. I hope that this review will be used for the staff to reframe their thought process their protocol and communications with patients and the sweet animals they care for every day. I hope they listen to the owners of their pets. Usually, owners have a good sense when things are wrong.

This is a highly unethical practice; taking advantage of our desperation. Today, we took a cat in for a loose stool & we got a bill for $700. Idk what all they did with him in the back room....our regular vet lets us stay in the exam room, and asks permission to charge us for more treatments, but there we were, in the waiting room.(for hours) This 1-yr-old cat wasn't sick. We took in a stool. All they had to do was test the stool & the $105 exam should tell the rest. But no. This place is a money pit - avoid it if you can.

They did x-rays and blood tests. They would not prescribe a broad spectrum antibiotic at all. They wanted us to hospitalize the dog for another $3300. They finally tested the urine for a UTI and then came back extremely mild. So they finally prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic, which is not helping. It looks like Meningitis. Cure is steroids. They didn't treat or test for that at all. If my dog dies, I will be suing.

Because it was so sudden I hadn't researched crematoriums or other options. The vet, who was terrific, said my love would go to a local crematory of which he thought highly. Over the weekend I read the reviews and was horrified by other pet owners' stories - mix-ups of their pets with others, communal cremations (dogs, cats, birds - you get a little bit of all of them), and disrespectful treatment of their loved ones, among other situations. (I've since hear further horror stories.) Thanks to the power of the internet I found Pine Castle Pet Cremation. I called on Saturday, not really expecting an answer - and almost immediately was speaking with the owner, Terry. I immediately felt reassured that this was where my girl should be. Because of the weekend and my vet's office being closed, nothing had happened to my sweetie. When the office opened Monday morning I was there to pick her up and take her to Terry's location. As kind and gentle in person as he was on the phone, he explained the process - offering as little or as much detail as I wanted. Totally dignified from when I arrived until I left a few hours later with my girl. She's home, and I know it's her, and I can rest easy. Losing someone special is incredibly painful. Dealing with the aftermath should be. Fortunately for me, Terry at Pine Castle Pet Cremation facilitated a peaceful resolution compared with what might have been. I was advised upon picking him up it's basically my fault because I should have introduced him to grooming between 8-9 weeks old DESPITE specifically being told otherwise by there office. In fact I was told there was a big parvo outbreak in Deltona and they advised me to wait until he was 16 weeks to be fully vaccinated. If your pup is used to to the grooming process, you likely won't have any issues. But if your pup is like mine and so many others, and haven't gotten accustomed to the grooming process, the noises, the smells etc....don't waste your time. Look for an experienced groomer who knows how to gently take their time in earning your pups trust so the grooming process doesn't stress them out the way my poor guy is right now
