You would think that it would be enough that my golf cart has been hauled away on a flatbed twice in five months. Unfortunately, it's not that I might have gotten a defective cart. It's more the lack of customer service. I just got my cart back after several weeks of calling and begging for some kind of information. No one ever has an answer and always says somebody will call me back, but nobody ever does. Customer service ends as soon as you give them a check. I am hoping this is the last time I have to deal with them but, seeing how they've had a cart almost as much as I have. I'm guessing that won't be the case. I am not sure who wrote the policy to leave customers in the dark. But it is really not a good look and I will never recommend them. read more

Buyer Beware if buying an Evolution D3! We chose Matt's Carts in Punta Gorda after it was highly recommended from most people we talked to in our community. Unfortunately we cannot sing their praises! We were an easy sale, already knowing what we wanted to purchase from their website. A beautiful looking 2025 blue Evolution D3 (as listed on the website) that was $10,000 off list price $7,995 instead of $17,995. Unfortunately, the Punta Gorda site didn't have a blue one in stock (but we saw one on the lot that had been sold already). They called the Fort Myers store to see if they had one and lo and behold they did. We were given the option to go to Fort Myers to purchase or we could purchase at Punta Gorda and they would have the D3 shipped from Fort Myers to Punta Gorda, clean it up and make sure everything was working and have it delivered to us. We chose the later. A little over a week later, the cart was delivered to us and we noticed problems right off the bat. The cart wasn't very clean and had obviously not been well checked over. There were quite a few dings on the front with chipped paint that had been painted over, there was paint chipping on the framing inside the cart, the left blinker didn't work at all, there were wires hanging low from the back of the cart a side panel that was loose and lots of tape residue . In general, the cart looked used, like it was a demo or had been used for an event. We immediately called the store to express our concerns and our sales person admitted that they saw some issues (mostly the cosmetic issues which they were not happy the Fort Myers store didn't disclose, but they delivered it to us anyway). We then spoke with the store manager (Angela) to ask for an exchange for an undamaged fully working cart and she said that was "above her pay grade" and we would have to speak to Hollywood the GM. She also insinuated that we were at fault for not going to Fort Myers to check the cart out. Hollywood was out of town for a week working the PGA so we awaited his call. Almost 2 weeks later after not receiving a call from him, we called him directly. He explained to us that the cart we bought was discounted because cosmetic issues were common for that model but the functionality of the cart would be fine. Our salesman never disclosed any of that, if he had, we would have never purchased the cart sight unseen. We still asked for an exchange from Hollywood and he said to give him a few days to investigate and see what he could do for us but no promises for an exchange could be made. The following week we got a call from Hollywood stating that they couldn't do an exchange because the warranty was already in our name (lame excuse if you ask me) but that they would pick up the cart and fix the blinker issue and check out the loose wires etc. Too bad so sad about the cosmetic issues though (not his words) but in essence they wouldn't do anything about the cosmetic issues. He also offered a free one year check up on the cart (a $400 value). Honestly, I just want a new undamaged fully functioning cart like we thought we were buying! The cart was picked up yesterday. We shall see if the issues get fixed. Very disappointed in the lack of resolution to our problems and for the lack of transparency about what was being sold to us. I tried to buy a Ranger 2+2 in mid May 2024 at the Fort Myers Store with my Friend. My friend who has bought many installment items through the years was approved on his Ranger 2+2 purchase. I was declined. I was turned down due to not having any records of Installment credit in the last 20 years by the loan company that Matt's uses. I'm 83 and moved to Fort Myers in 2001. I paid cash for my home then. I have paid cash for two boats one was a new premier 22' pontoon. I also paid cash for a new Acura 2015 RDX. My pervious golf cart was a GEM 2008 E2 model. I also pay cash for that. Over my 23 years in Florida I have bought many air conditioners, roof's and other Items such as large TV's and furniture and also paid cash. Now in my soon to be 83 year on this earth. It appears all those cash purchases were a mistake? My biggest complaint with the two very young lady's at the Fort Myers office were more interested in broming me and my friend out as it was five pm and quitting time was 5:30. Apparently they are not Commission paid sales people. I would have offered some suggestions as to down payments if given a chance. I was trying to qualify for a very nice zero interest 4% only down payment 36 month loan that Matt's has advertised. I would have offered a larger down payment if given a chance by the two sales ladies. But it was too close to quitting time. I do have a 15 year deposit, savings and credit card history at Suncoast Credit Union. The girls told me my credit card payment history was no good. Admittedly at this late date in my life my cash balance is not as large as it was. I could apply for a loan at my credit union. But, their 9% interest rate is not as good as Matt's advertised 0% is! Matt's Evolution carts are way ahead of the companion. And priced very competivly in this market. I reside in a 1,400 gated community (Del Tura Country Club), I would like to be a happy Matt's golf cart owner advertising my satisfaction of my Matt's cart purchase. read more

My wife and I purchased an Evolution 4 Pro in March 2021. We have been very pleased with our golf cart and enjoy riding around our Briarcliff Community in Fort Myers. Recently I noticed that the rear bench seat was separating from the base (ie screws coming off of the wood). Our customer service representative at the Fort Myers location, Yaquelin was most helpful and after providing video/pictures of the issue contacted the manufacturer on our behalf. STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this company. They're selling carts as if they're LSV's but they are not. They have 4 locations but come to find out only two of them can legally sell LSV's. We purchased ours from the Stuart location and was told it was an LSV street legal and to take the invoice to MVA to get our tag. Sooooo, turns out the cart has everything to make it street legal except a proper vin# of 17 digits. The cart has an ID# with 9 characters. The Stuart location is not licensed to sell street legal LSV's. The owners brother in-law Juan lied to us just to get a sale. I went back to Matt's and spoke with another person by the name of Tom. He also claims to be Matt's brother in-law. After initially claiming he had the license to sell a street legal cart, he finally admitted that he didn't and proceeded to hand me a blank bill of sale and told me to complete it with whoever's name as seller I wanted, like Bob Barker or Chuck Woolery, and bring this invoice to MVA and discard the original invoice. I have found a company that can get me a vin# for $550 in order to get a tag from the MVA. What a pain...I need to rent a trailer in order to bring the cart to the shop. The owner of the company that can get me the vin# told me he's getting many customers that purchased carts from the same company, Matt's Custom Golf Carts, with the same story. They tell you you're purchasing an LSV cart and to just take your invoice to MVA to get your tag. We are reporting this to BBB and to the State of Florida Dealer Licensing Division. Called them and asked them to fix the 2 tires, reseat them. Bought a brand new cart and after 9 miles there was a terrible sound coming from the right front we contacted them and they told us to send a video. it was a 5 second video. we had to call back a few times and they said it was a bearing they picked the cart up about 2 weeks later and have had it since. We started noticing our battery ( lithium) their best recommended battery, started to lose charge. Battery would be 100 % charged and drop to 40% within 1 mile. Matt's had it picked up the last of August first of September and said they would have it diagnosed and make appropriate repairs. Since then we have heard one excuse after another, from giving it a bump charge to a part that tells the battery it's about to lose charge and shutting down the cart. Bump charge didn't work and the other part was not defective. We have been told they're waiting on a tech from the Evolution company to the regional manager. We've been told they're waiting on a response from headquarters to fix the components in the battery to replacing the battery. This actually has been told to us a two different occasions. The last contact was a week ago. The message was .... Good news Richard, the techs are taking your battery or parts to their head office to repair or replace. GOOD NEWS?? They know the battery is bad , why didn't they bring a new battery with them! I asked them that question and their response was we we're wondering the same thing? They've had our cart almost 4 months for a BATTERY ISSUE!!!!!! If you can't honor your warranty in a timely manor you have no business being in business period! The staff was very helpful and kind when I walked in. They started working with me right away and even as they got busy they always made sure I was being taken care of and they were even able to get me the financing that I needed! My family and I love the golf cart and all of the amazing features that I cannot believe were added on. Seatbelts, back up camera, Bluetooth/fm radio, lifted, adjustable window, lithium battery..!!!! I went into the Fort Myers store and they were very helpful, but they did not have the color I was looking for. They found the color in the Punta Gorda store and said they could set it up for delivery. Everything was great at that store. But when I called the Punta Gorda store after the purchase to find out when they could deliver, the lady on the phone was very rude and said would call back the next day. She did not, so I called again 2 days later. Again she would not say when they could deliver and someone would call me back. Then 2 days later someone finally called and said they would deliver the same day. Well I was not prepared that day, but I made some arrangements and made it happen because who knows when anyone would call again. It was a gift for my mom and it was supposed to be a surprise and we would have it at her house before she arrived. Bought a refurbed cart from here and took the $700 insurance policy. Battery light kept flashing so I called them and was told not to pay attention to that light that "those lights never work". I was still worried so I asked them if they would look at the cart. I was charged about $130 to have someone come out and tell me that "those lights never work". Cart seems to run okay but customer service stinks and so does the insurance policy. read more
