Where do I begin!
I went in one night laid on a particular bed in the store, I like the functions of the adjustable frame, and then made the deal for that bed with the salesperson. I didn't haggle, and I just asked him for the best deal he could give me. I particularly let him know how comfortable the zero g setting was and that I think my wife would love it. I agreed upon that price and was required to pay in full before they would even schedule delivery.
The next morning I couldn't wait to bring my wife to the store to lay on the bed that I had purchased. When we walked in I took my wife right over to the setup that I had purchased. In the same exact spot as the night before. My wife and kids agreed that it was very comfortable. Soon after, we left the store and then waited for our items to arrive this past Tuesday on the 23rd.
When the delivery company came with our items the first thing I noticed after it was all set up was that the remote control looked different for this setup than the one we tried out in the store. I immediately called the salesperson and explained to him that the remote control looked different and in fact didn't even have a zero g or vibration setting on it. He told me that the only way he could get me that set for the price that he did, over $2500, was to downgrade the frame. He said that if I wanted to settings and features that came with the items that I looked at in the store, I would have to pay extra for them.
I couldn't believe it! Why in the world would I want to make a deal for a frame that I didn't even try out beforehand? Why would he take it upon himself to just swap out the frame, for any reason, and not inform me. He apologized over the phone for not telling me before the items arrived, but I still told him that I would be coming down there with my wife as soon as we got the kids together.
I went down to the store not even 2 hours after we had the mattress in our home and told him that we were not satisfied with what he told us. He again apologized, and told us that he would give us a free mattress pad to make up for the difference. He also said that we could get the cheaper frame to do what the other setup did in the store. We just would have to do it manually. My wife and I told him that we would try it out and tell him after one night.
Well of course to make a long story short...it wasn't true! I should have just gotten my money back the first day when the wrong items were delivered. Because they took our old mattress away, and would have been left with nothing, if not for at least trying to work the rempte according to the salesperson. It didn't work! But that's not even the worst part of it. After we spoke with the district manager, he told us that he couldn't take the frame back and that was their policy. I told him that while I don't think it makes sense to have a policy like that if you can return the mattress for any reason and 30 days why would you want to return the frame as well. But that wasn't even what I needed to get my money back or a refund or credit so that I can use it for a different item. All I needed to tell him was that the items that showed up to my house or not the items that I purchased. They were switched out by the salesperson without my knowledge so that either he can make more money off the deal, or because he knew I wouldt go for it. Then has the items delivered and my old mattress taken away. tells me that we were told up front about the different frame and that because of that they won't accept it back. So first they wouldn't accept it back because they have a policy of not accepting frames back. But after I told him that they delivered the wrong one anyway and we were kind of behind the eight ball in at least giving it a try the first night, he tells us now that the salesperson told him he's told us up front that he was going to swap out the frame to a frame that we didn't even know existed when I bought the items. What kind of sense does that make? It is still not resolved and I hope that their cameras are working in that store and record audio as well. I would love for this to get out to the public and see what actually happened. The salesperson was actually on his computer the whole time he was talking to me check in sports scores and when he wasn't sitting at his desk checking sports scores he was on his phone walking around in the store with me checking them. He obviously made some mistakes but to have me pay $3,000 for those mistakes is a bit much.
I am still awaiting final resolution. It is 5 days later now and every day that goes by I feel like they are going to start telling me that the items have been in the home too long to do anything about it now even if they could. This place is so shady that I don't even want to upgrade from them anymore. read more
