I am not too cool for Forman Mills. Are you?…read more Sooo the Forman Mills I was familiar with on this side of the Dellyware, was in Springfield. Back in college, when Diesel jeans were en vogue, I got a pair at FM for $20 (after I paid $150 for a pair on Newbury Street in Boston). You gotta pick through things, but they have some bangin' deals! The PA stores seem to have dried up, but we passed two NJ locations on our way to Cape May today, so when hubs needed Harbor Freight for nitrile gloves, I was all about the Forman Mills nextdoor. OMG, I hit the bargain jackpot! Sidewalk sale of $1 and $2 items! For those prices, I got the following brands for my son: -LandsEnd -The Children's Place -Gildan (sweatshirts) -Primark (I was surprised this was a really good quality rugby hoodie for $2) There were also a couple English brands (people tend to say "British" but the English hate that b/c they don't want to be classified with the Irish and Scots, LOL!). One item was a really high quality hoodie by Tottenham Hotspur's official Football (soccer) gear across the pond. As others have mentioned, there were also TONS of sports team clothes. They have the major Philly teams, and also local college teams ('Nova, Penn State, etc.). They have tees galore, but also zip hoodies, shorts, hats, team logo fitness apparel, etc. The nicest item (like the highest end fitness tech fabric zip hoodie) was only $16.99! Hats were $10 or $15, not the best deal, but the tees were $1, $5, or $10. I didn't get to go through the whole store. We were way late for a day at the beach, and still had an hour's drive. I had to calm myself down and tell myself I could go back another time. (I was in bargain overwhelm!) So I took pics, but I will have to update my review on my next trip for other departments. I did see some awesome beach toys for a couple bucks less than I paid the day before, at a different discount store, grrrrr! Some reviews complained about it being a "dump." Dump it was not, but nor was it the Taj Mahal. When you're buying $1 tees, what do you expect? Valet parking and Perrier in a champagne flute? This is warehouse style, people, get over it. Others mentioned some stained or faded clothes. I didn't get that with 90% of what I saw or bought. But, yes, there are irregular issues on some, and also just fading from "shelf wear" on others. You need to check over everything, but I do this in high end stores just as I would at a discount store so no biggie. That said, I did buy one $1 tee with the Kelce "No one likes us" meme, and it had some "dye distress" on the shoulder seams. For $1 I don't friggin' care. I am going to cut this bad boy up and sew it into something else anyway. People, you gotta think outside the box to capitalize on these bargains sometimes. Not everyone can sew (or wants to), and not everyone has time for the no-sew YouTube tutorials (which btw, do AH-MAY-ZING things with cut up tees and a zillion other "clothing hack" or upcycling tricks), but if you are so inclined, this is a gold mine for Etsy style creations, and I am so inclined, so I love it! I visited on a weekday afternoon in mid May, and there were few people there. The store was organized, clean, and ample sales associates were available if you needed something (though not in your face). Everything I found was tagged, and prices matched what I was charged at checkout. This is pretty good for a bargain/discount store. I got about 20 items for $28, and all of them are the same quality I'd normally buy for my son (no compromises). I've stockpiled new clothes for my son up through 5T (I spent 10 years waiting for a child, and hit up the Patagonia outlet sales, and various other offers throughout that time... yes, some of his new clothes are actually now "vintage")... however, as I discovered with his huge growth spurt this past winter, it never hurts to have extra stuff on hand. I thought I had full wardrobes covered for his first 5 years, but I had to scramble to fill in needed pieces with ebay pre-loved buys for 6m to 2T. Going forward, I'm learning. FM helped me fortify my ongoing stockpile today, so I will have fewer items I need to stress about as the growing continues! The sales associates were friendly/helpful. Checkout was quick/efficient. Honestly, this was a 5-star experience, but I need to hold off on the overall rating until I can go back and see the whole store. I'll be back, FM!
