I get there and no one is there. We call and a very friendly man answers and let's us in with the push of a few buttons on a lock, like we are arriving to an AirBnB. But we are mattress shopping...with our phones on. And the salesman/owner is taking us through the showroom. But he is not there. He could be anywhere. But his attention to us is focused on our understanding and knowledge of his merchandise. he is approaching this very methodically. I'm still a bit freaked out by the concept of walking around with zero in person guidance. I do not know why. Maybe it would be better to have a two way visual experience like facetime. Once I get over that strangeness...it is pretty cool to have an experience similar to what a celebrity might experience. You are the only one in the store, it is your domain to explore with no one else to compete with. Take your time, listen, just follow the guidance of the salesperson / owner while he explains the features and merits of each mattress from composition of materials to the concept of layering.

I wasn't expecting the experience to be as seamless and straightforward as it was. I had done a little research and knew I wanted a Beautyrest since I've slept on those before and thought they were very comfortable but wanted to try in store instead of ordering a bed sight unseen or one that comes in a box. Our salesperson, Jeff, asked all the right questions to determine what our particular sleeping needs are and was able to recommend a few that would address both our needs in our price range of $1500. Within minutes we were sold and completed our purchase with a much appreciated Presidents' Day discount a little early instead of waiting for the sale or getting a refund since they do offer to honor a lower price within thirty days so we were able to get a queen the same price as a twin. We only had to wait two days for our mattress to be delivered and the delivery team was A+ in every way. I'm still amazed at how easy everything was and best of all, we're enjoying the best sleep ever. I fall asleep and stay asleep!

We purchased a bedroom set, in store at the DURHAM, NC location. SORRY to post this on the Raleigh…read moresite but I could not find a way to post on the Durham SITE. Looked and looked for link !!! Anyway, the sales consultant was very professional, patient and pleasant. He suggested an under the bed rug as an accessory we liked it so we added it. We asked about the rug being put down and were told that the delivery would include getting everything set up. On delivery day we were told that don't do rug installation!!! so they put in the whole bedroom set and left the (under the bed rug), in a corner unsealed!! during the delivery they chipped my footboard, so they had to bring a new footboard, they did that today and I asked,,,, again could the rug be put down and again..... was told they don't do it. Called customer service and spoke to 3 very nice people but only to get to where we were told the 3 party delivers can do or not do this, it is at their discretion. Ok well had I know this we would not have bought the rug!!! So then I requested to just return the rug and was told that returns have to made in 3 days!! My husband and I cannot lift the bed to lay the rug, which means we have to try to hire and pay someone, and we didn't want to do that, so we were going to return it, but now we can't do that!!! I feel certain that the salesman did not know this could happen!! But I think it's important that other people know!!! !We were very specific in store about our situation, but yet we are now stuck with a $170 rug that we only bought because we liked it and thought it would put it like everything else. I rated a 3 because the rest of the furniture is nice, so I l felt comfortable with OK and Maybe this is different for the Raleigh Store, but if you are dealing with Durham keep in mind that 3 party delivery does not do RUGS!!!!!!!!!! #verydisappointed

Longer Version: Unlike with electronics and most other things, you can never seem to find real usable objective stats/descriptions of mattresses online. And virtually all mattress reviews seem to be contradictory and are often flat out fake. Even the reddit page dedicated to buying a mattress, which should be a treasure trove of clear cut tips on cutting through the bull and buying a mattress is little more than a trauma ward of people commiserating about how impossible it is to shop online for a mattress. But Durham Wholesale Mattress & Furniture changes all of that. As soon as we walked in the door, Andy swooped right in to help us find the perfect mattress. We ended up trying out a dozen mattresses and we felt totally safe COVID-19 wise the whole time. Andy was BEYOND patient and extremely knowledgeable about everything. And he was able to expertly incorporate all of our specific sleep needs (side sleeping, wrestles sleepers, back pain, etc.) into a mattress selection. Lastly, he was able to work with us based on our budget to get us a truly epic deal (I am honestly not sure how they kept from loosing money on this deal). But more than anything, you can tell that this store is based on a genuine desire to help people find the best possible mattress for them. And Andy is just a genuinely great guy.
