He was super knowledgeable, showed me what I was looking for with options, and my purchase was complete in about 15 minutes. I bought my mattress on Saturday and it came in the next Tuesday. Stopped by on my way out for dinner looking for a queen size mattress. The sales person showed what he had in the price range we were interested in spending. They had one on sale and he had it in stock, we did not plan on buying a mattress this evening and were on our way to dinner so kind of in a hurry. it seemed like a good deal so we said we would take it so we didn't miss the sale price. I asked the sales person very clearly if I changed my mind and wanted to return it what was the policy and said it would be "no problem". We paid for the mattress and went to dinner, the next day my wife looked up the mattress and did not like information about the fire retardant used by this company so we went to return the mattress. It was still in the vacuum sealed bag and box unopened. I brought it back to the store and the manager told me they do not take returns even on unopened product. He said he would look into things to help and call me but never did, when I called him back he gave me a regional managers number and said there was nothing he could do. When I called the regional guy and told him my concerns he could care less and would not approve a return of a new in box product no matter what! The sales person LIED to me and he did not do anything to make it right. He blew me off when I said I would not be shopping with them again. My daughter had cancer so we are very concerned about the products things are made out of. I will never do business with them and tell every one I know about this shady business practice of getting people to walk out the door with the product and then its there problem. If the sales person had said that there was "no returns" when I asked I would have waited to make my purchase. read more

This is a very long review for a very fine (in the end) buying experience. In short - excellent, top notch customer service, very professional and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend this store over all others if you're searching for a new mattress. ___________________________________ Now for the long part____ In Feb we purchased a king size mattress at the Mattress Warehouse on Rt. 1 in Bel Air. The purchase experience was excellent, and we were told the mattress would be delivered the following week - so far, so good. But - the delivery date got moved back and moved back several times because the mattress, a store brand made in China, was backlogged, and it would be in "soon." - disappointing, but still, the price was good and the mattress, though something of a cheapie, was one we liked and thought was worth waiting for. And as COMPENSATION for our long wait, they agree to waive the $99 delivery fee when it finally got here, making the delivered price that much better. Now we're talking! But - almost three months later the mattress still hadn't hit American shores, so we went back and complained again. This time, they offered us a clearly better mattress, a Sealy this time, at no extra charge, saving us over $100 more than we would otherwise have had to pay and that we hadn't been able to afford. And they waived the $25 disposal fee (or the old mattress). And it would be delivered by Monday. Now we're REALLY talking! So - on Monday, the mattress arrived as promised and it was great! We were happy little campers and had high praise for the mattress and for the store and for the sales manager, Bill. But - three months later, we noticed a slightly uncomfortable bulge in the foam top of the mattress on one side (my side) where the foam top had apparently bunched up under the mattress cover, so I called the store to complain. We frankly expected no actual solution - but we thought we'd give it a try, since the store had been so responsive in the first place. But - they said a third-party inspector would have to inspect the mattress and see if our complaint was valid. Concerning, because the problem was relatively minor and we expected the "inspector" would find the problem too small for any sort of resolution. Still - the inspector would be out the same week, so at least we didn't have to wait long. When the inspector came out he did a thorough examination, said hmmm a few times and left without suggesting whether our complaint was valid or not. Concerned again, fearing that no action would be taken but that the little problem would grow into a bigger one. But - the very next day we got an email saying the mattress was clearly defective and would be replaced at no cost to us. Eureka! Happy days are here again! So - the mattress buying experience at this Mattress Warehouse store seemed a little disappointing at first, but the manager and the store made every effort to make things right, did actually make things right, and in the end gave us several hundred dollars worth of savings and delivered to us a better mattress than we could otherwise have afforded. Finally, the problem we had with it was resolved almost immediately and to our complete satisfaction. In short, we highly recommend this store for its customer service and expertise in how to keep a cheapo customer like us fat and happy, and the manager, Bill, for making it all happen in the most professional way possible. So - we recommend that if you ever need a mattress, go to the Mattress Warehouse in Bel Air. Ask for Bill, and tell him you want to be treated just as well as Wes Wise was. Treat him right, and he'll treat you right - and how could you ask for anything more? PS - there are 5 Mattress Firm stores within 5 miles of this Mattress Warehouse store - don't get them confused! We purchased 2 mattresses from John. Very nice, very knowledgeable. That's where it ended. Our delivery experience was a nightmare. When John said, "if there are any problems let me know and I'll take care of them", that was a lie. The store, John and management have done nothing to aid with the delivery company. They repeatedly state they aren't responsible for the delivery company. The first delivery included a damaged mattress and a wrong mattress. They damaged my house, doors, walls, bed frame and driveway. The company wants to payout $120 for all the damages. This is an absolute joke. We were able to get the mattresses the 2nd delivery and those delivery folks were great. Still didn't make up for the first crew. Overall, I am very disappointed with this store and their lack of care to make things right. read more

Never again. Idk whose fault, but our delivery call said between 1 and 4 pm. I get a call while I'm out- they'll be at my house in 10 minutes, at 12:15. Not cool. And I paid for removal of 3 pieces, I come home- it's still nowhere near 1 pm- and the 3 pieces are right there in my foyer. They told the person who was home they couldn't take them because they had bugs. They do *not* have bugs, none of us see a thing. No evidence of bugs. This is unacceptable, and I'm hoping to see the delivery truck back here to pick these up. read more

This review is no reflection on the store and especially Barbara our very professional sales person. I am only writing a review because there were none on line for Cheswick Manor mattresses. I googled and googled but there were no reviews. My gut instinct was not to purchase it but the store offered another $200 off. We purchased the Wellington (total $999) in a queen and I am very disappointed. It feels so hard as if I am lying on an ironing board. I believe it is the foundation that squeaks when my husband gets in and out of bed that wakes me up. It is so cheaply made, you can feel the cardboard with your hand under the fabric. They sent a second foundation out but they are both the same-cheap. read more

On Sept 26, 2105 I purchased a mattress, box spring, and pillows from the BELAIR Mattress Warehouse location. While in the store I met both the manager (Bill) and the district manager (Winston.) As per normal you have to wheel and deal with these folks like buying a used car. To me buying a mattress is stressful enough but to add the sales factor to it makes it just as fun as a trip to the dentist. After coming to an agreeement on price the conversation became more casual and I found out the store has very experienced sales associates and newly hired ones because its the training store. The sales associate asked when I would like my delivery and they offered as soon as the upcoming Tuesday (3 days.) I explained that Satuday was the only day I could take delivery since I work all week. The mattress came the following weekend damaged right out of the box. 2 ft grease/ dirt mark. The delivery guys made me aware before it was in the house. They then put me on the phone with the distribution manager who then proceeded to give me a hard time because I wanted to keep the mattress they delivered and exchange it the following weekend. I explained that I don't have a mattress and I was really counting on this delivery. He said that they don't do exchanges on Saturdays and I should call the store to work something out. Are you kidding? Horrible customer service. I work all week and can only except a delivery on Saturday and the items you are delivering are damaged I explained. After going back and forth with this person he got permission from his higher up to do an exchange on the following Saturday. Since they were doing an exchange on the mattress I also asked for them to do an exchange on the box springs because one of them had a smal tear on the bottom. Really not a big deal because outta sight outta mind. Bill the Mgr said no problem and he would make that happen. In the meantime I then inquired if we could work a deal out so I could keep the damaged mattress and box spring for a discounted price. Something fair for both of us to feel good about. He said he can't make those decisions and I would need to call the warehouse. Here we go again! Called the warehouse to see what kinda deal we could work out. His best offer was $100 off. Really? $100 off. So obviously this was a joke to them and now you want to insult me with not only your horrible customer service but now with 3% discount for a damaged mattress. So I disgustedly declined their offer and asked for my exchange to stay as planned. The following Saturday comes and they call me at 7:10 am to inform me they don't have a mattress for me. This has to be a joke. You've had over 7 days to inform me that I might not get my exchange and you call the morning of to let me know that you don't have a mattress. I started talking with the dispatcher then to the Mgr who tries to tell me how the process works and that they are a 24hr operation and they didn't get the shipment overnight. Wow!!! Bill the manager calls me at 9:50am to inform me they don't have a replacement box spring. Wait one min. The warehouse tells me no mattress and you tell me no box spring. What the hell is wrong with this company. So I asked to talk to someone higher like the district manager. Maybe he can get something resolved. He calls me to assure me that my delivery is scheduled and for my inconvenience he would take $100 off. I am not happy but it's better than nothing. I asked if he could arrange that my delivery be in the morning rather than the end of the day so I would have to clear my schedule for the 3rd consecutive Saturday. He said he couldn't promise the first stop but could arrange it so its in the morning. Finally something going my way. Nope, Friday Oct. 16th rolls around and he calls me at 8:30pm to inform me that he wasn't aware that they contract out delivery trucks to deliver and my delivery is going to happen in the later part of the day. Really? You're kidding me. So now what are going to do to compensate me? This is absurd. Empty promises and horrible customer service. I'll give you a neck pillow. Gee thanks. Saturday rolls around and they have the mattress but completely different box springs. Color is brown and mine are suppose to be cream in color. No words can explain my frustration. Still waiting for a follow up call from the manager no resolution has been offered but the store manager has tried to convince me that the box springs they tried to deliver were the new ones tempurpedic was going to. I still have no resolution as of 10/21. No one has called to correct. ******Update****** 10/22 Spoke to district Manger about this complaint and his only offer was to change out on a fourth delivery attempt different color box springs. Said he called and left a message on Monday but amazingly I didn't get a message in my phone. Wow.... This company and the folks that run it are unbelievable. neither natress warehouse or serta mattress stands by their prod. bought top of line pillow top cal king in 2009. it had 10 yr warranty. i have been sleeping in hole for 6 months. inspector came out and said it measured 1 1/8 inch deep. they consider anything less then 1 1/2 in. for comfort and refused to replace mattress. from now on i will go elsewhere and buy simmons. they believe anything more then 1/4 in. to be defect and will replace it. good riddens to serta and matress warehouse. good service doesnt count for everything! read more
