I confess that my first impressions on this place were rather poor. The bathroom desperately needs to be cleaned down to wiping a decade's worth of grimy fingerprints off the walls and door. I was laying in a beautiful bed, only to look down and discover a cockroach basking in the fluoresce with not a care in the world. The test beds had brown stains where many others had lain. This place could use some serious deep cleaning. That said, the mattresses are stored at an area warehouse and not at this location, which I found to be quite relieving. The salesperson who helped me was called Taylour and she was an absolute delight. She knew her product lines like the back of her hand and helped direct me to "the one" without trying to hard sell me on something I really couldn't afford. As of the date of this review, I've purchased two mattresses from this location. The customer service is always great. Taylour was the sales associate the last time I made my purchase. I was in need of a new mattress and box spring for the master bedroom of my home and was able to purchase a new Serta set from this retailer. Upon entering the store, I filled-out a computerized survey then laid down on an electronically-sensitized mattress to determine the best option for me. Excellent service and great selection! I'm used to buying cheap mattresses from wherever, but this place showed me the benefits of having a grown up bed. I did a diagnostic test and three mattresses from 3 different price ranges to choose from. Quite possibly the most comfortable mattress ever. I didn't have enough to pay full price, but they let you make payments on your schedule. Ask for Marshall, he was friendly and a great salesperson. There are plenty of negative reviews on the other Alexandria Mattress Warehouse, so I figured I would go ahead and get them going for this store. I'll make it simple for those of you who don't want to read all the way down, this place SUCKS!!! Products suck, policies suck, service sucks, and their procedures are archaic. My ordeal began nearly two months ago when my girlfriend purchased a simple metal bed frame from this location for $150. Unbeknownst to her, I already had acquired a higher quality bed frame off of Amazon for 1/3 of the price. We did not need the one that she had purchased, so a week or so later, we attempted to return it, only to be informed by the salesman that frames were non-returnable. This was news to us, as my girlfriend was never informed of this when making the original purchase. Had she been notified, she would have held off and talked to me about it. I explained this to the salesman, who pointed out in the fine print on the receipt where it stated that the item was non-returnable. However, even if my girlfriend would have read that, she would not have known of the policy until after already making the purchase. After explaining my case further to the salesman, he let us know that there was nothing he could do, and that we could leave the frame at the store while he contacted corporate to try and get a refund approved. For a simple refund, I'm not sure why this has to go all the way up to corporate, but as I said their procedures are archaic. After a week I called and asked what the progress was, only to be told that he had not heard back from corporate yet. This went on for several weeks until it had been an entire month since returning the frame, and there had still been no progress. I find it absolutely ridiculous that it could take a month to contact someone for a simple return. Being fed up with the lack of service from the store, I decided to call the customer service line to see if I could set anything in action. The woman who answered was actually extremely helpful, and told me that she would contact the district manager and see what she could do. Later that day, I received a call back from her to inform me that the district manager had approved the refund and that it should be returned to my girlfriend's card in a day or two. But, that was not the end of things. Knowing that sometimes refunds take time, I waited, and waited, and waited some more, until two weeks had passed and the refund had still not processed. Again, I called the customer service line to find out what had happened. I was informed that all of the paperwork was almost done and the refund should be processed soon. This was quite confusing to me, because two weeks ago I had been told that the refund was approved and it would be returned in a day or two. When I asked what the holdup had been, I was informed that the district manager needed to verify that the merchandise had been returned, and he "had just taken a while doing that." I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure that could be accomplished in a 5 minute phone call that very same day, and there was absolutely no reason for a two week delay other than the general lack of care and urgency that appears to be a standard in this organization. It's been about two months since making the purchase and still no refund. Keep in mind, this was an unused $150 bed frame, not a $3000 mattress. Do yourself a favor and just avoid Mattress Warehouse altogether. Their products are of poor quality and the horrible service isn't isolated to just this store. The other stores in the area have similar poor reviews and the infection goes all the way up the organization. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. read more

Top notch service from purchase to delivery. Just bought our mattress on Sunday evening. I was offered delivery as early as Monday and I went ahead with it. Didn't think on such short notice it would be possible and expected to wait, especially for a Washington DC delivery. However, I received a call first thing on Monday from delivery guys that they were on the way. Delivery guys were just as professional as the sales staff. I also did the diagnostic test and think it was spot on with the mattress selection. We worked with Marshal who was incredibly patient and helpful. read more

I won't rave, but I won't complain. I walked in and Marshal was busy listening to a news clip or something. It gave me a minute to look around, so I did not mind. He was pleasant enough to me when he acknowledged my presence. I will be honest, I was getting ready to leave. But, once he welcomed me, we got on just fine. Looking back, I was actually happy for the few minutes to just wander and get an idea of the prices at MW. I did the diagnostic test, which I have no idea whether or not it is legit or not, but what the heck. I got to relax on a very comfortable bed (been sleeping on an air mattress for three weeks). So, took advantage of the comfy spot. Ended up getting a twin set. I did have to go to another store for pickup. Marshal was courtesy and professional. At the other store (near Ross), they had an entire roll of white string, but the guy couldn't locate any scissors. Again, I am not complaining... I sort of hung out waiting for him to find pieces of string to tie together to make two long enough ones. I walked into the Mattress Warehouse 7520 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA on 1/14/2019, not knowing what I wanted in a mattress. I looked around briefly, became overwhelmed, and was about to walk out when Taylour called out to me. She took time to find out my personal body concerns, guiding me through a computer assessment, and had me leaving the store with more than one mattress, excited, a huge smile on my face, and continued nights of blissful sleep, (no aching bones the next morning). Be careful with what you buy, especially any ancillary items likes sheets, mattress covers, etc. they will not let you return anything, even if it is unopened. They say it is state law WHICH IS NOT TRUE. Once you walk out the door you're stuck with it. read more

I have bought 3 mattresses in the last 4 years at this store on Rt. 1 in Hybla Valley and have always had a good experience, Just bought another one and was impressed with Ms. Lucas, who was very intuitive to our needs as customers, and very knowledgeable about the products and what the best fit might be for my rapidly growing son. read more
