We went to Mattress Firm first and they felt pushy, overbearing, and really trying hard to get us to buy whatever they could. We learned Matthews Mattress is local and started by the Matthews family back in 1991. Great to know we're supporting local and Jason was able to give us a great deal! Our mattress even arrived a week earlier than expected. Their own delivery staff was great. They removed our old king mattress and bunkie board with ease and quickly replaced it with our new box spring and mattress. They even had a third party come out a few days ago and measure the sags with his laser beam which revealed deeper than normal sags. I had difficulty picking one. They were all very beautiful bedroom sets and exactly what I was looking for according to the color . I ended up picking a bedroom set . The delivery was very quick and very sufficient. The guys built everything for me in a good timely matter. They picked up all their trash. Everything went great. I am in love with my bedroom set. I was still in the hunt for a couch and I found one that I really liked and I sent a picture to Daniel and I asked him if they carry this one and he said they do so I ordered it. I went back inside and ordered it. My couch got delivered with in the next day. They set it up for me same experience and I got the couch that I really wanted. They navigated a tight, difficult stairwell efficiently and without any issues. They were fast, strong, and clearly experienced, but also very respectful of our home. Purchased two leather sofas less than 2 years ago (Aug 2023) from previous owner (Mike) for over…read more$4,000. They had lifetime warranty on them for certain things and the new owner (Adam) had the couches picked up because the issue was covered under it. During pick up, his movers did not handle the couch with care at all. They drug it down the metal screen door and scratched the front of my couch and they dropped my couch on the cement and drug it across it trying to pick it up again. It ripped the entire underside edge of my couch. Scratched the entire front part of them. Not once did they admit to it or anything. They tried to pretend it didn't happened until I reached out immediately with video recording of the incidents. The same day, we went by the store to check in on the repair of the couch, and the manager said that he would personally thoroughly inspect the couch for any damage that could've been done. He said the couches would be returned to the house in an hour or so. They arrived with the damage caused by his employees is still there. When I called and spoke to him, he said he did not see any damage which was a lie, and I sent the images to him again he said that he would reach out to the owner the next day and call me with an update. The next day the owner called and he said that they could paint the leather. Which to me is not a sufficient repair of $4,000 couches that were blatantly damaged by his employees. He proceeded to argue with me and said that he was doing us a favor by not charging us for the couches to be picked up and transported back-and-forth. In my opinion, I would have rather transport than myself because I know I would not have damaged my own couches like they did. He never offered any discounts, MIKE, the owner mentioned that to us, not ADAM the new owner. Also, he said "we are doing you a favor " by not charging for pick up or labor which this information was never disclosed to us at anytime until AFTER we spoke to ADAM. Adam has not been professional or customer focused. He was argumentative and lacks customer service. Just like his response to the review. The original owner, Mike called us personally because he knows us and he came out to look at the couch and did a small glue repair to it. He was friendly about it, but the current owner did little to nothing about the situation. He still has yet to reach out to us after Mike came out to take care of it. I still feel that even with the repair the couches are not in the same condition that they were prior to them being picked them up. And he did not handle it very professionally or customer based. I would not buy anything from here. I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be telling my entire family who has bought from there, since the 1980s, to stop going there. Spending all that money on couches to have them damaged and not being taken care of is very concerning. He could have replace the couch with another one of equal value, given a cash value for the cost of repair to have it reupholstered, or anything but instead, he just wanted to take the cheap route and paint over damage. Instead, he wanted to try to argue with me and tell me he was doing me a favor. The only favor he did was show me his poor business and customer service which will keep me from referring or returning to this place ever. A lot of business will be lost because of this.

1 Star - Extremely Disappointing Post-Purchase Support…read more I purchased furniture from 916 Furniture on Tuesday, December 9th. The purchase itself went smoothly. The bed frame was delivered and, while basic (think Amazon-quality furniture), it was decent for the price and visually nice. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I also purchased a TV stand, and when I went to assemble it, I discovered that the furniture is missing required holes, making it impossible to put together or use (photos attached). This is clearly a manufacturing defect. I reached out to the company on December 24th to report the issue. I was informed they were out for the holidays until January 5th, which I understood. However, I did not receive any follow-up until I messaged again on January 5th to check on the status. I received a brief reply--and since then, I have been completely ignored, despite multiple attempts to resolve this. As of now, I have a piece of furniture that I am actively paying for and cannot use. To make matters worse: The phone number previously used to contact me, (916) 223-9440, is now no longer working, despite the fact that I was called and messaged from it prior to reporting this issue. The financing app lists the business under a different name: "Sams Sofa And Mattress LLC." When calling another listed number, (916) 305-1967, a man named Amir answers. When I explained the situation, I was told, "I wrote everything down and passed him the notes," yet nothing has been done. At this point, the lack of communication, the disconnected phone number, and the inability to get a resolution is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I gave this company ample time and opportunity to fix a clear defect, and they failed to do so. I would not recommend 916 Furniture unless you are willing to accept the risk of receiving defective items with no customer support or accountability afterward.

It gave me plenty of time to walk around and try to select which items I liked. You could buy a bedroom set sets or just pieces. The prices were absolutely amazing especially for the quality that you're getting here. Abraham was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. He listened and showed me a few beds available and answered all my questions. There's a recliner that swivels and rocks and made out of corduroy. You're so very comfortable! He also has no interest purchase programs if that interests you. I think this is one of those best kept secrets.

He was kind and thoughtful and understood that I was in a hurry and listed carefully about what kind of furniture I was looking for which could fit in our reasonably sized house. (If you live near this store, the big furniture in Roseville and Rocklin won't fit in our houses) Sam was kind, thoughtful, and humorous while we talked about family. He showed me some catalogs to expand my inspiration and then I asked about the Murphy Beds he has at the back of the shop. Wow! I'd never seen anything so inventive for housing guests while being reasonably priced. My husband and I are waiting to use our tax refund at Sacramento Furniture Store. Sam won me over with his honest personality. He explained that the sign out front that states they are not going out business is in opposition to all the other shops. He explained that those shops that are not truly "going out of business" and "everything must go" places are lying to the consumer before we even step foot inside the store. That statement made a real connection to my spirit and I can imagine I will be a repeat customer for the foreseeable future.
