Armed with a chart of locations, hours of operation, and brands sold, I dragged him to every decent furniture store in Sacramento. Secretly, I was most excited about Casa Bella Gallery because of the pretty name. So I saved it for last to avoid bias. We had basically found the sofa we wanted at Zgallerie. The Ventura. A deep sofa with a less deep chaise. Mounds of pillows AND modular for holiday rearranging. Expensive :( But I was determined to find the best price. Another store had a knock off in only one color choice that just wouldn't work with our house and the accent pillows that came with the sofa would have to be tossed after purchase due to the hideous pattern that cheapened the entire sofa. Then we entered the small urban Casa Bella and saw our sofa. Ok, a Zgallerie knock off that cost $1000 less for cushions with buttons instead of without buttons. And maybe the seat cushions weren't quite as comfortable sitting, but this is a couch for lying down (5ft deep) with down cushions behind you. The co-owner Rhoda explained about the company and said we could choose the color of the sofa and choose the fabric for the three included accent cushions. She showed us fabric samples in different lighting. She helped us determine measurements, fabrics (so very many choices), and configuration. The sofa arrived in about a month to specifications. Rhoda took pictures of the boxes and provided weights so we could plan transportation. Delivery to Reno was not possible, and I wouldn't have wanted to pay for it anyway. Rhoda and her husband offered to open earlier for our convenience on a Sunday. Shane, Rhoda's husband and co-ow and another man helped us load the massive boxes into our truck bed. Safely. And the boxes made it 3hrs down the highway. Customer service, product, and delivery were top notch! You must shop there to experience for yourself!

I was greeted by Sam but he didn't approach me aggressively, as I've experienced sometimes in larger furniture stores. He was kind and thoughtful and understood that I was in a hurry and listed carefully about what kind of furniture I was looking for which could fit in our reasonably sized house. (If you live near this store, the big furniture in Roseville and Rocklin won't fit in our houses) Sam was kind, thoughtful, and humorous while we talked about family. He showed me some catalogs to expand my inspiration and then I asked about the Murphy Beds he has at the back of the shop. Wow! I'd never seen anything so inventive for housing guests while being reasonably priced. My husband and I are waiting to use our tax refund at Sacramento Furniture Store. Sam won me over with his honest personality. He explained that the sign out front that states they are not going out business is in opposition to all the other shops. He explained that those shops that are not truly "going out of business" and "everything must go" places are lying to the consumer before we even step foot inside the store. I decided to purchase a gray sectional from the brand Ashley that was $780. He said he could deliver it the next day and and for free! (we were in Sacramento) He asked us what time we wanted it delivered and we told him between 10am and 11am, which was the earliest. The next day, he arrived during that time and was able to get the furniture into our apartment even though the railing was making it very difficult to get the longer part of it in. He called the manager and between both of them they were able to get it in. It was awesome how they really tried to make it work because he could've just easily said it doesn't fit and returned it to the store. I was super grateful they were able to get it in. Normally I wouldn't be this frustrated, but it's the principle -- I was lied to in order to prevent me from placing the order, which feels very intentional.
