Reason why is that that guarantees that they will not have to give it back after the situation. They want you to send the full amount by e-transfer which is another red flag. I purchased 2 furniture pieces from the company Jan 4th and then had zero contact from them after…read morereceiving the invoice plus additional shipping invoice and paying both in full immediately. I reached out multiple times asking for an update after about a month without response. When I called the store on 2 occasions I was given conflicting information on delivery of the dining table. In my first call around Feb 4th I was told it had shipped. When I called a week later to ask for an update so that I could know when to expect it, I was told it would arrive a few days after shipping. When I prompted that a few days had already passed, I was then told that it would take a few weeks. In this same call when I asked for a refund for the out of stock and discontinued coffee table, I was told to pick a different item. When I asked again for a refund as I didn't want another item, I was hung up on. When I then emailed stating my intention to contact BBB, they sent an email confirming I would get my refund, then ceased communication again (and did not issue the refund). When I escalated the issue to PayPal, the seller then said we had been in communication about me choosing an alternate item for the coffee table, which was a blatant lie. I had asked for a refund multiple times at this point. Regarding the dining table, when PayPal became involved the seller now said it was "on order" and would arrive to their store mid March and would then ship to me. However PayPal investigated and determined the company provided a fraudulent tracking number and therefore refunded my full order. I think it's important to note that while the company I purchased from positioned themselves as "Sterling House", in course of PayPal's investigation the seller provided their email to PayPal as a Furniture Depot email contact. I specifically had not purchased from Furniture Depot due to the concerning online reviews, however it appears that they are the same company, and engage in fraudulent and deceptive business practices.

Gave us a 3 hour window... and still not only delivered it nearly a hour and half late. When my mom called to ask for delivery time and why they were so late they were giggling over the phone about being late as if it was a joke. Then upon arrival arrival, I asked if they could take the old one to make up for it they said no with the worst attitude I have ever heard. Then not only did they not bring in the mattress into the house they said "ok we'll take this new mattress back because it's our company policy to not complete delivery if the customer is not happy" Asked for the driver name to put a complaint in and he just walked walked walked back to his truck. Not only were they late... they were completely rude and disrespectful. They offered NOTHING to make up for their mistake. How they're STILL EMPLOYED is beyond me.
