But not at this Mattress Firm! I mean, our salesman (who actually doesn't usually work at this store) had some of his salesman jargon and smooth mooves but all in all, I would almost say buying a mattress here was fun! The "fun" was getting to try out the SLEEP TO LIVE system, which sounds so so dramatic. But all it is this kinda freaky space age diagnostic bed thing you lay on that measures how firm a mattress should be. I thought it was pretty cool, I don't know if it really saved us that much time but it is a fun gimmick. I was able to weasle myself some meager savings with the bed frame and delivery but they made damn sure I would spend in the higher end of my price range. Also, I wouldn't suggest writing a check here as it was a fiasco, he had to actually call it in which took forever, maybe they'll have it fixed soon.) One of his salesman tricks was to choose three beds in our prices range -one very nice, one nice, and one okay but cheap. Of course, you lay on the other two first and the cheap one isn't even on display, it's a twin they just pull off the wall to have you try. After all that, it's hard to settle for the cheapo one, even if it would save a couple hundred bucks. But as Omar from The Wire would say, it's all in the game. Whether your game is drug dealing or mattress selling, people trying to make money off of you and I can't really fault them as long as they aren't all up in my face.

Saw the ad for the Onyx set at Zoe Furniture and took the drive down to Euless. Man, it's the real deal. The black leather feels premium, and it's firm but incredibly comfortable. What really sold me was the customer service. The staff answered all our questions without hovering or being pushy like at other furniture stores. It looks real sharp in our space. Staff is outstanding, personable and friendly both times we've come here. We had come here pre-shut down, so around 2018/2019 to get the bunk bed my oldest had wanted. We hadn't needed to shop for a bed for my youngest due to timing working out that we had my nieces crib/mattress, a friends car bed for his toddler stage, and my in-laws moved out of state in 2020, they gave us their guest room twin bed so they didn't have to haul it with them. Though that twin bed didn't come with a mattress for the pull out. We finally decided to find a 7' mattress for the pull out this year and remembered Heavenly sleep shop when we were pricing out our choices. They had two options that worked for us at $100 & $80, both good options for a mattress that won't see regular use but not as thin & uncomfortable options that we had seen for similar prices at places like Ikea. My 8 year old has been obsessed with the fact he now has a bed under his bed, and has regularly been pulling out the pull out to hang out on when playing video games or watching a show. (Even though his regular bed is still right there!)
