Better than average home decor store…read more
I popped my head in here last week to check out what new stuff they had in stock. As is customary this time of year, a lot of spring merchandise had already started to roll out, so it gave me a few ideas for home and garden decorating for the coming season. I must say, the stuff was very nice and better-priced than I would have expected, in both the regular merchandise and the surprisingly large clearance section.
I was pleased to see so much nice stuff- not broken, chipped or missing a piece from a larger set- and few castoff junk items in the clearance section, which I always make it my mission to hit first in any store. There was plenty of really nice Kate Spade, Cynthia Rowley and Ralph Lauren home goods at super low prices to make me giddy. I'm from Flint and the clearance sections of these types of stores are always picked over like a swarm of vultures hit them and left nothing but bones behind.
Here, I found cocktail shakers in the clearance section for $3 and $4.50, respectively, still bearing their original price tags of over $40. Elsewhere, there were wine tubs for $5, serving trays marked down to $4 and so on. The prices were amazing and the selection was first rate.
Throughout the store, decent prices on really nice merchandise abounded, even on the new arrivals for spring. This store had a decent selection of small furniture pieces, including chaise lounges, side tables and breakfast bar chairs, but mostly it catered to kitchen cookware, dishes and glassware, bed and bath essentials, like towels, sheets, pillows, duvet covers, and bath ensembles, plus small decorative accessories for the home.
Elsewhere, I found a nice selection of gourmet teas, spices, coffees, chocolates, cookies, oils, and spreads. The prices on those items were hard to beat and most of the items stocked there were exotic/imported.
It was a decent-sized store, bigger than I expected. Everything was well-organized and displays/end caps were inviting.
Customarily, I tend to shop more often at stores like T.J. Maxx and Marshall's (Home Goods sister stores) for decorative accessories, but I actually liked the selection of goods that I found here. The prices and selection are what did it for me. As for customer service, who are we kidding? There really wasn't any, but I honestly don't expect much of that in a store like this. All I care about in regards to the service are if the lines are short and if the sales clerks are within earshot if I actually have a question (which I usually don't).
Will I be back? Sure.
