His meals are invariably nutritious, delicious , and attractively presented. There is plenty of food for a filling dinner for one. It is like going to a good restaurant each night. All I have to do is go to my refrigerator, pick out what I want and heat it up in the microwave for about 2.5 to 3 minutes right in its own container. There is a menu of 4 different dishes for each night, and the menu changes weekly. He offers touchless delivery at no additional cost right to doorstep each day M-F. I have tried a number of the national meal delivery services like Freshly. Chef Mike beats those by a country mile. Try them for a week. I am confident you'll be hooked.

It is the off season and very slow, which made us the only customers during our visit. Friendly people, interesting place. I like collecting things, for example restaurant visits, so I was particularly impressed with the old vinyl records and photos covering the walls, and a small beer can collection. 50's music was playing. They offer both sandwiches and dinner entrees, I went with what they call their Big Ass Cheeseburger. It was pretty big at 9 oz, and came with 2 sides. The sides were also big. All my food was very good and only took about 10 minutes. Unfortunately there was a kitchen smell we didn't like. I got used to it, my wife not so much. That threw off her desire to eat so we brought most of her food home. Poki Joe's has mainly been a catering business for many years, only infrequently operating as a café. That changed a few months ago. They are definitely still a catering business but also operate the café. The café is open every day except Sunday, and on Sunday is open for special events.

I stopped in this morning for breakfast just as they opened. The restaurant is large with an open layout and a very fresh look. French instrumental music played in the background. I had a relaxing visit. For breakfast I tried their Broccoli Quiche, a personal sized serving, and I chose a salad as my side. It was a good breakfast, the crust was flaky, the filling tasty. At the moment they offer 5 different types of quiche, including the classic Quiche Loraine. I hope someday they expand the breakfast menu to include my favorite, Croque Madame. I wish them well as they continue to get established in the restaurant scene. They also offer catering.

Instead of being open to the feedback, the response was immediately defensive. When we spoke, I was also surprised by how expensive the pricing was. While everyone is free to charge what they believe their services are worth, customer service should still be professional and welcoming. Unfortunately, I was met with an attitude from the very beginning of our conversation, which made the entire interaction uncomfortable. Because of that experience, I decided not to book. My family has hired private chefs for every vacation we've taken in Florida, and we've always had wonderful experiences. First impressions matter, and this one left me feeling completely turned off before we even had a chance to discuss the menu or the event.

We chose this venue because of it's location in proximity to the wedding (Baker's Ranch), the price, the menu, and mostly because of the room itself and the views of the sunset over the Manatee River. We choose an open bar, appetizers, and a menu of about five entrees. The food was all very good, but I wouldn't call it excellent. The mahi-mahi was a tad too done. The brisket was close to excellent. I didn't have the island tacos, but heard they were a hit. The coconut shrimp was perfect. So a mix. Appetizers were generous. We selected "premium level" beer and wine and liquor for the bar. Mostly I was happy with that choice - good beer and liquor, except I felt that the Chardonnay options brought it down a notch. We asked for a slightly better Chardonnay, and the best we could get was still not so great. Wine lovers need a little more value in an event like this, and a better white would help to improve the overall value of the premium selection. The venue and the staff are the reason the rating is high. Cindi was very helpful and accommodating from the time we first met in the fall, but really showed her professionalism on the night of the event. She and her team were friendly and helpful, paying attention to detail and flexible in meeting our needs. Big kudos to the staff!
