I saw Dr. Yousif in March of 2021 after a terrible slip and fall. My femoral head was shattered and I'd never experienced pain like this. I arrived early for my appointment, terrified what may be wrong. They did an X-ray and Dr. Yousif came into the room, looked at the X-Ray and said you have a torn ligament and will need 6 weeks of physical therapy. I asked for an MRI because my sister is an MD and told me before my appointment. He said no need this is a classic injury, I see it every day. He seemed hurried, however this was a 3-minute interaction. He gave me a shot of cortisone in my hip and Motrin. He told me I was fine to walk and it would be better soon. I went to PT for 2 weeks and was in tears every session because the pain was so bad. Walking on a femoral head fracture causes so much damage it can be irreparable. My physical therapist said I need to get a second opinion immediately because something was not right. I then had an MRI which revealed the shattered femoral head. I tried to heal it on crutches for 8 months with no success. I had a core decompression surgery in February of 2022 that was unsuccessful and a total hip replacement in June of 2022. I didn't walk for a year without crutches. My other orthopedists were amazing. I was their youngest patient ever at 40 years old because this never should have happened. I called Dr. Yousifs office of course very upset during the course of this and the receptionist said verbatim "sorry we weren't required to give you an MRI, good luck" Doctors are human right? If you knew this had resulted from your hurried carelessness, wouldn't you be a human, pick up the phone, and call me to apologize for effecting my livelihood, costing me medical expenses, and not allowing me to do my job for a year? His office used to be in Warren back then. It's now in Troy and I work across the street. So when I drive to work every day I have to read his name on the sign. It's honestly haunting. I also think this is the first yelp review I've ever written so I assure you it's sincere. I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. If you choose to see Dr. Yousif, I certainly hope you don't have to get a second and third opinion like I was forced to. read more
