Dr. Stanford is always on the cutting edge of the science of new equipment. They have massage chairs and you get to choose your music genre. They have also just added a state-of-the art teeth whitening system, which I experienced yesterday. It was painless and easy, only 25 minutes at a great price. My teeth whitened at least 2 shades, and they send home a whitening pen.

The technology is good and there are TVs set up at each chair where a nature documentary plays and you can choose your own Pandora station to listen to in the background. More importantly though, the staff knows what they're doing. My regular dental hygienist is an absolute angel; she lets me know what I'm doing wrong (grinding, not enough flossing, etc etc) without scolding and is so nice that I feel really comfortable conversing even with things totally unrelated to my teeth. Dr. Stanford himself is also very nice and knowledgable. I never feel like they are suggesting procedures that are unnecessary or expensive. Nobody likes going to the dentist, but Stanford makes it much more bearable.

I recently started SureSmile treatment here, and the whole process has been so much easier and smoother than I expected. I first went in for a consult and scans that were sent off to SureSmile, and during that appointment they really took the time to listen to what I specifically wanted to improve. Then I went back in to review the 3D model and treatment plan, which was actually really cool to see. That appointment felt very conversational and relaxed, and they were happy to answer all of my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed or pressured! About two weeks later all of my trays came in, and honestly I started noticing improvements after just a few trays. The pain/discomfort has been very minimal, and my teeth are already looking so much better. Just like other reviews, he was humming a tune nearly the entire time, making funny comments and his staff genuinely also seemed to enjoy their work and were so very nice! The office is bright & fairly modern in the exam areas, and I really like that they have computers right there to show your x-rays right away. But sorry, no TVs like some of the other dentists in the area, but that's OK with me. They do have music on speakers, though. The cleaning and exam were very thorough and I didn't feel like the Dr. was rushing off to another patient - he took his time and talked to me and reviewed everything, making me feel like a valuable patient.

I was able to fill out my new patient work from their website, which saved me time. I don't think I waited a whole minute before they called my name. Once I was in the chair, they started right away.....There is a lot to be said for a doctor's office that you do not have to wait...at all! I am not sure how they do it, but it was the most comfortable dentist experience ever; my mouth/lips did not feel weird after wards, because they were so gentle....more so than when I floss my own teeth! They explain everything they are doing, what they are looking for etc....although you are in and out in a timely manner, they do not rush. I now have insurance as well so I researched dentists on the insurance website. I located a dentist in my plan and called the office, only to learn that this dentist had retired and Dr. Burgdorf was now practicing in this location. I scheduled my new patient appointment and was able to get in within 3 weeks. I read the reviews the morning of my appointment and found them to be quite favorable so I was feeling very comfortable with my choice. After arriving and being greeted very warmly by Amy, Linda, the hygienist, walked me through the initial portion of the exam with a very thorough explanation. When Dr. Burgdorf arrived in the exam room he greeted me in a very warm manner as well and explained every step of the way in a positive and supportive way. He was very gentle and made me feel very comfortable. I had told him that it has been a long time since I was seen by a dentist and it was largely due to embarrassment of the condition of my teeth. He assured me that this was a judgment-free office and his job was to help me achieve my dental goals. I have a lot of work ahead of me but I feel very confident that it is going to result in amazing dental work in place and a lifelong dentist. I even brought home information to my daughter to encourage her to schedule an appointment for her needs. When I got it done I didn't feel a thing! The people at the front desk are friendly although I miss crystal. She was the best. If you need a dentist in Arnold I highly recommend tourkakis.
