As a doctor she is very methodical and gives very clear explanations about any issues that may arise. She communicates clearly, and her staff is nice. You can tell the office is well-run. The location is good on the mid/west side of Carmel, and the parking is amazing (can always find a spot right outside the door). The reception area is a shared big area with about 20 other businesses so it is roomy and during Covid especially nice because I could easily stay away from others. Everyone who I mention her name to says the same thing, "Oh, I hear she's good!" She is associated with Community Hospital but has her own office she shares with another doctor or two and two NPs who are also very nice. Looking for a doctor? You'll be happy here.

It is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Dr. Romero-Cortez does a great job managing my care. He keeps up-to-date with medical information, and he is knowledgeable on a wide range of conditions. He never seems like he is in a rush and has great bedside manner. Dr. Schulte is the best pediatrician. She is great at answering questions and making a first time mom feel confident in her abilities. My son loves Dr. Schulte too! Both doctors, nurses, and support staff do a great job answering any questions I have through the portal. The portal makes it easy for me to feel like I can trust my care providers and reach them in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is that it can be hard to get an appointment at times. However, knowing this, I do my best to schedule in advance. In the case of an emergency, there is also an Immediate Care Center in the same location for such situations.

I have tried to call and never gotten through to my doctor for weeks. They use phreesia check in system and I always feel the devices are dirty. Discussions for patient check are not personal nor friendly. The receptionist is curt with patients as she tells the to stand in line. The waiting room his clean and remodeled. There is a slim selection of magazines and no television or music. And I just got yelled at for not returning my phreesia. Yikes!! It is a good thing I love my doctor or I would never come here. They have online checkin that circumvents much of the checkin.
