TL;DR: Dr. Pride is amazing. He and his colleague Jennifer are a rockstar team and I can't think of one bad experience I've had under their care.
Long version: I'll be leaving two reviews: one based on my prenatal care thus far (I am about 37 weeks) and the other after surgery (repeat c section at 39 weeks, two weeks from now) for any other mamas looking for c section specific feedback.
I transferred care to Dr. Pride after the OB I was originally paired with told me that she was also pregnant and going to be on maternity leave during my 3rd trimester. I loved her too, but my first pregnancy was a less than thrilling experience so my husband and I decided that we both would be more comfortable seeing someone who would get to know me, and my case, and be present for my surgery. I made the transfer at about 12 weeks. From the beginning, he was kind and informative. No question I asked was ever too dumb, no had I ever been made to feel like a hypochondriac for emailing and/or calling to ask about a new symptom. I'm a plus size mom, and weight wasn't even talked about until I brought it up about 4 weeks ago. I went home crying that day; I had been so afraid of being judged by my weight and he completely blew me out of the water! His exact words: "Of course, we wouldn't want you to gain too much, but I would say the same thing to any lol asking about her gain progress. So long as you are eating healthy and continue to give me good results I think you're doing a great job!" Even today, during my appointment I was due to have a GSB screening. I have no qualms about him performing whatever needs to be done cause I trust him, but he went and grabbed Jennifer to be in the room with us while he did the screening, just to make me more comfortable. Also, at my request, he made a call to L&D scheduling to get me on the books for my desired date of surgery.
I could go on and on about him, but I think I've made my point lol. I'm choosing today to leave this review because although I'm scheduled for a repeat section two weeks from now, I may not last that long! More to come after surgery... read more
