I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

I visited this café on a really cold day. I was disappointed by a coffee shop around the corner…read morethat ran out of coffee beans and had a horrible snobby attitude, so I wanted to check out what they had at Old City Java. Not only did they have a great selection of espresso beans, the barista was happy to educate me on the different options. I also got a dark chocolate bar made in Asheville that was absolutely fantastic! My hot Cortado to go was delicious and high on the caffeine side. (My favorite!!) There is adequate seating for studying, working, or chatting with friends and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing with good WiFi. They have several family style restrooms that are easy to access. The only challenge is that parking can be difficult, but it's inner city....what did I expect? The barista was super fast and had an amazing attitude. I will 100% be back!

It has nice large windows that overlook the street and seems like a great place to hang out and get some work done. Parking is a little bit of a struggle but it's to be expected in a denser area like this. I got their speciality honey bear latte iced. It was prepared quickly and was super yummy! The cinnamon and honey flavor was sweet and strong and it had a great ratio of coffee to milk. Would happily order again! My one complaint is service was kind of...icy? I dunno, the barista never approached or asked if I had any questions and just generally gave the vibe that she'd rather not be helping me. It didn't feel very welcoming, but she wasn't outright rude, either. Still, coffee is the most important thing, and in that regard they absolutely delivered!

I always add an espresso shot!

I sat in a big soft chair and was very comfortable! They also have two clean bathrooms, i changed in there after hiking. There weren't enough hanging pegs but they were spacious so still good enough. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full. Not sure where else you could park in the area. Overall, if passing and needing a rest I would rec this spot! But I would try ordering something else besides a London fog ;)

It's a comfy space though a little small and by 10:00, it was starting to get crowded with laptop folks. I took that as my cue and headed onwards. But first, there was coffee (a cortado that was more like a flat white) and a bunch of time on their wifi. There is a parking lot in the back. If it's full there, it will be full inside. It is so fun to walk around and see all the selections they have. I wish there were more locations around me.

Don't hate me for saying this, but I'd rather drink coffee from the Keurig than dish out the $15 I paid for two lack luster beverages. Don't shoot the messenger, maybe it's better on other days.
