OMG Such a huge mistake!!…read more Whatever Nestrelda has stated is so true each and every word. I wish I would have read this before I put myself through that torture. I cannot believe since his first review in 2011 he is still same or I should say worse. We hired him for Negotiation deal with HOA instead of just sending a letter to HOA, as he claimed to be giving us a Discounted Deal and charged us 5 times more than just sending a letter. He claimed to be an expert and get us a WIN as this was a open and shut pretty easy case of HOA negligence but we LOST and the only reason was hiring an incompetent lawyer Mr. Mike ( Just Talk No Results) so we not only lost the case which he should be counting on his second hand (as he boost about how many cases he lost - which is exactly the amount of cases he has taken) but also our money and additional stuff he made us do to help HOA without our consent sent out email. As soon as HOA responded to 1st email he backed off and did not do no negotiation so we paid 5 times price because Mike cannot negotiate. And now he wanted us to file a lawsuit and this time he changed price 80 times more than initially quoted price ( I guess that's a discount too so he can sleep) And when we pressured him to follow through with negotiation agreement not only did he had a melt down on phone and asked us not to talk to him for rest of day but did worst job of mishandling our priorities ( making us lose what more can I say). He was tough on us but meek with HOA and it reached to a point where it felt like I paid him to yell at me on phone and stop asking HOA to do their job !!! His email was not only weak but lacked any legal content or research he was supposed to do before sending the letter. Do not get carried away by the number of cases he claims he has taken or how much ever discount he offers you, HE WILL NOT BE ON YOUR SIDE - as he is a weak and incompetent lawyer. All he is good at is filing paperwork for businesses , no people skills am not even sure if he gets to deal with people or cases on regular basis. Hopefully this review will help someone to not go through same experience as I went through , it is not worth losing a strong case , money and dignity ( HE LITERALLY SCREAMS AT YOU ON THE PHONE BEFORE HE HANGS UP PHONE ON YOU) by dealing with this guy!

My next step is filing a…read morecomplaint with the Stare Bar of Ariz This has been the absolute worst experience working with Matthew Schultz. Once he received my retainer he gave my case little to no attention and treated me terribly every time we met or talked over the phone. I felt stuck because he had my money and regretted using him after the first few weeks. He has messed up on just about every aspect of my case and instead of explaining why things turned out the way they have he has made up lies to explain them away. It takes multiple emails asking the same questions to get a response and his responses are one word responses and I am lucky to get a complete sentence reply. He has never once returned my call and to get him on the phone you have to call him over and over sometimes for days at a time. He is the most arrogant person I have ever met and has little to no respect for anything or anyone. When he found out my ex and I were Mormons he said "you know that's a cult right" In a harsh tone, and has referred to our religion as a cult on multiple occasion in a disrespectful way. I have had to ask him to please stop talking to me the way he does on several occasions after being personally insulted about my weight and other personal items and including getting emotional about loosing time with my daughter because of his lack of reading emails before responding to the other lawyer. Details of the case: The three things he told me he couple help me with during our first meeting were 1) dividing of assets, 2) child support calculations, and 3) parenting time. All three things he completely messed up on and just agreed to my ex's lawyers request even after Matt and I discussed otherwise. 1. He gave her 100% of several joint assets including a paid off car and a $10,000 grand piano even though we discussed these on several occasion as to why they should be joint 2. He admittedly gave her almost $100 extra in child support each month so I am paying almost $700 for one child even though the calculator shows it should be less. His answer is we can fight this in court afterwards if I want. And of course this will cost more money to do so. 3. He agreed with the other attorney to cut my parenting time in half and when I asked why he would do this he had no clue what I was talking about. I had to show him in the paperwork he agreed to without my permission. He then tried to blame me and I had to beg him to try and fix this error. It wasn't until I got upset and literally broke down to tears that he agreed to file a petition to the judge to set this for trial and of course costing me more money. Run from this guy!

In a Michael Douglas movie, Douglas's attorney said 'it's a game to them'! I hired Att. Tom Griffin because of a utility company. In arbitration the co. said 'we had the job listed under another grade'. Mr. Griffin said 'I didn't know that'. Griffin had all the info so he knew about it. Griffin kept saying the $20k was a lot of money. I told him, it's NOT! Later he agreed with me, but he got his thousands of dollars & he's not giving it back to me! Looking back, I should have demanded that the company attorneys be in the same room with us! I should have stopped the arbitration, but Griffin never gave it as an option, and I was emotional and couldn't think to stop it. He wants it fast and with no bumps along the way. Afterwards, I asked him about the other company issue with the contract company (associated with the utility co) & suddenly its 'I don't do litigation'. Went home & looked on Att. co web site & his bio didn't say litigation. So, the next time we spoke, he says 'I do litigation' but now he wouldn't continue with my next case. Griffin says whatever convenient to him! I say 'Griffin is a smart man, but what a waist as a peoples attorney'. He finalizes as many cases in one day as possible. He won't fight for you (your lucky if he likes you) and it appears to me that this is financial favor for companies. While we, the small people suffer, and can't get a job. Just another attorney that has put a nail in my coffin! 'it's a game to them'! Fighting for your truth to be heard and never giving up, has its drawbacks... you end up poor!
