We were a group of seven, so our options were their tritoon or motorboat. But since we waited 'til the last minute, only the 'toon was available. But all good - we had a great time. You can rent for a half day (4 hours) or full day. We did a half day (1-5pm) with the option to extend it a few hours for extra $, which we turned down. Book and pay online; and show up early for waivers (every passenger must sign). They rec' showing up 15 min early for that, which we did, but after my beau did the test drive, we didn't hit the water until 15 min past our res, and then we returned 20 min early because we're unfamiliar with the time/distance to return... so we lost a half our on the water :/ Next time, we'll remember our noodles or ask about renting some water toys.

The claim to fame is that the whole thing runs on batteries and thus, is green and clean. The boat owner and operator (Andrew) was a real hoot- he took great pride in all that is Greenport, the boat, the harbor and the environment - we had a great time out there with him as we motored around Shelter Island and the bay in general. The cost is extremely reasonable - $15 for adults and if you are nice, you'll get a lollipop. The boat leaves from the rear of Prestons Marine supply. The trip is about 45 minutes and a great way to see some nature - Osprey's in particular but plenty of other birds... Parking around town.

The cruise had 3 offerings of their specialty wines, a nice red, white and sparkling wine along with all you can each shrimp and freshly shucked oysters. If you couldn't consume shellfish, they offered a charcuterie box from Mamma Lombardis. Pretty nice offerings Bedell! Parking was easy peasy, the train station lot had plenty of available parking. Once we boarded, we each grabbed a wine glass and headed to the upper deck. My wife, looking so elegant in her summer dress, it was just a perfect night for a romantic cruise on Long Island. You don't have to call me late for dinner, I saw the crew carrying the oyster aft (that's the back of the boat for you non sailing Yelpers) I grabbed a plate and loaded up with a nice amount of shrimp with cocktail sauce as well as oysters. Ever try sail while trying to keep cocktail sauce off my white silk Tommy Bahama shirt? I did it because I have mad skill. I noticed the couple next to me, I made small talk with the guy. This woman, she must of eaten 2 dozen oysters! And I dig that! Enjoy yourself, don't hold back. I had about 6 oysters, a good amount of shrimp and a quite a few glasses of Bedell wines. The captain of the boat did something very cool. He brought the ship very close to lighthouse for a perfect picture spot. Could this night get any better? Here's where and I hope Bedell reads this review. You have the perfect opportunity to talk to all the guests and sell your winery! There should of been bottles of the wine we tasted for sale as well as baskets filled with wines & cheeses, raffles to come back to the vineyard for a tasting, shirts, glasses, Bedell things for sale. It sounds like you need me to take over this area of responsibility. ABC, always be closing. Wine is for closers! The guy pouring the wine was swamped with everyone at once saying: Gimme! Where do I begin? Lets start with the winter storage of the boat. The boat had a canvass cover…read morewhich we secured with great care. During a storm it opened. It was not attended to by the crew who are suppose to be overlooking these boats during their storage. Not to mention the boat was parked in tall grass and reeds so- hello mice. The open canvass allowed water to collect inside; and because the boat was not stored at the correct pitch - the drainage system which would normally be effective- was not, the water remained in the hull and ruined the carpet and various other areas. Then they threw someone elses folding chairs into our hull - NOT our chairs - which were in sleeves, infested with ants. That was another clean up for us to embrace on top of water damage. Upon leaving this wreck of a marina we noticed our canvass boat cover in their dumpster with garbage thrown on top of it. What an interesting decision to make on behalf of someone elses belongings. What part of this sounds like professional or we care about your business. Zero. One star is not what I would choose but ZERO stars is not an option. However ZERO dollars is what Strongs Marine will be getting in the future.

Recent visit show me how great their marine services are. Had damage on the way to Greenport. Didn't know how I would get it fixed and my boat back home. The service manager just stepped up and made it all right in one weeks time. Way beyond that normal customers service I would expect. Make a bad situation into a easy repair.
