One of our favorite restaurants in Discovery Bay. Small inside, with a few tables and Sushi bar. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is consistently good. The tempura is always tasty and the rolls are fantastic. They do a lot of takeout, but dining at the restaurant is very worthwhile.

This was a small, hole-in-the-wall type Japanese restaurant. We happened upon it for lunch and had a great little meal. The waitress was kind and attentive. I started with a glass of Coke, but something was a little off with the syrup balance, it was really syrupy. We started with the miso soup, which had a very miso-y flavor and was delicious. We also had the gyoza, which were steamed and very tasty. We split 3 sushi rolls, which were small and basic but appropriately priced and very tasty. We had the volcano roll, which had an interesting spicy sauce on top that had an almost tingly sensation to it. We also had the Hawaii roll which was very fresh, and the Rainbow which was also fresh but could have benefitted from some lemon to squeeze on top. Overall, a good place for lunch and good for the price.

Boston Roll and Caterpillar Roll

The food was very good but the service also set it over the top. I was greeted and well taken care of, even though it was a to-go order. They made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond. The sushi was fresh and delicious! I ordered the Boston roll ( had salmon avocado and tobiko) and the other was caterpillar roll (green onion, tobiko, salmon and avocado). I have a love for salmon! Lol I will be back again! Thank you!!

On the way to Bethel Island I went here for lunch. Place was clean decent, food was good, but the reason I gave it a 5 star is because of our server was amazing extremely friendly and attentive. Sometimes it's not always just the food, but the fantastic service changes everything

You walk in and you're greeted by Sophie and if you're lucky, there's a place to sit and dine with the six tables. The menu, tables, walls, windows, and floors are sticky and questionably clean. You kind of wonder and hope the kitchen is clean as well. But guess what? This is our closest neighborhood Japanese sushi restaurant. It's not the best sushi, nor the best bento box but service is always friendly and welcoming. We eat here at least once a week and the phone is always off the hook ringing for to-go orders. My go to are dragon rolls (golden, black) and chicken teriyaki and katsu. Tempura is always good here too. I know prices have gone up through the years but service is always good and everyone in there is working hard to prepare your meal. Give this place a try and make sure you tip them well. We need them to stay open.

Not the best Cucumber roll rice falling apart and the taste was off. It's like they can make sushi for a 7-11

I like their California rolls and the black garlic ramen. My husband likes their steak with garlic noodles. This place is always a hit! Just if you don't like loud places the acoustic can be a little loud on game days or if it's packed. But there's the option to take it to go and enjoy your food in your environment.

Of the entire night only two couples (high school age) same as the host had reservations and were seated immediately. No check-in on the iPad no confirming the name. Just walk in greet with smiles and handshakes and straight to a table. However, I was told to make a reservation it has to be made the day of and before 4pm. Find this hard to believe so I asked 3 different servers how to make reservations and they started, "unsure" "idk if we do reservations" "I'll have to ask" were the answers I got. Could be me but sounds like the host kid is lying. Service started off strong. We sat and within 5 minutes the server came by to take our drink order at which time we also placed our food order. Drinks took 10mins, food took over an hour. We placed drink and food at 4:44 and food came out and hit our table at 5:51 Anyway I'll never be back and this was my 3rd time here. With each visit the experience got worse.

This is a great sushi restaurant. As a matter of fact, this is now my favorite sushi restaurant in…read morethe area. My wife and I really like the quality and taste of their rolls. I am a huge fan of their sushi pizza which is a mix of spicy tuna and crabmeat topped with this crispy tempura nori and drizzled with this sweet and spicy sauce. Each bite is crispy and full of tuna flavor. I've had a lot of different sushi rolls in my life and this one in particular is different and special. I never had anything like it. I also love their Caterpillar roll; eel with avo. This roll is common, but they make it really good here. Another interesting and delicious roll is the Mango Crunch; Spicy tuna, salmon, and fresh mango slices with unagi sauce. This roll is sweet and savory, all in one. The sushi chef really takes his time crafting each roll. Our order does take time because everything is made fresh and from scratch. We love Neko Sushi and we'll definitely be coming back again for more.

I moved to the valley about 8 years ago and still haven't found a good sushi place. A few weeks…read moreago I was doing errands in Brentwood with no kids. My husband and I were hungry and honestly, just picked the first sushi spot that came up for us that was the closest. We have been so accustomed to mediocre sushi that we stopped being picky. We were just happy to eat sushi (our kids hate it). We showed up during lunch time the first time. We took advantage of their lunch menu. I ordered the sushi lunch special which came with 5 pieces of sushi and 1 California roll. My husband ordered the 2 piece Bento box: salmon teriyaki and California roll. We decided to also order a scallop shooter and a almon belly nigiri, along with the 49er roll When the plates arrived, I was immediately impressed by how thick the fish was. Salmon, Tuna, Hamachi, Mackerel, Albacore were the 5 pieces assorted to me. All were amazingly fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed the California roll. It was just the perfect amount of mayo and crab. The scallop shooter was such a nice surprise. In addition to the many pieces of scallop in there, it had masago, a quail egg floater, AND uni! For $10 each, I would say that it was well worth it. It definitely is a mouthful, but delicious. As for the salmon belly, what a treat! You can taste how fresh and fatty it is. I honestly dream about it. They put fresh wasabi on top and they sear the top juuuuust slightly, enough to give a little smoke taste. If I could, I'd probably order 10. I do feel that $12 for 2 pieces is also fair, especially for the quality. My husband also enjoyed his teriyaki salmon, he mentioned it could've been a bit bigger, but the flavor was good. The roll was also delicious. Perfect ratio of fish, rice, & toppings. We came back a 2nd time because I could not stop thinking about it. We decided to come for dinner and we splurged. We had faith and decided to try many items on their special's list for the day. We ordered salmon belly, hamachi belly, omakase, scallop shooter, ankimo, & salmon/tuna tartare. Lucky for us, the omakase which is 9 pieces also included some additional specials like the O-toro & albacore belly. Looking back, I think ordering the omakase as a personal item vs sharing would've been a better idea. Especially if you want to try all the specials, the price is roughly the same cost. We enjoyed every piece, so getting duplicates of items was more than welcomed. I would say that the salmon belly is a must, along with the ankimo (monk fish liver), and the hamachi belly. Take my advice, order the omakase for yourself. Try all the different nigiri and savor each bite. This place is about 25 mins from us, but it's definitely worth the drive! Annnnd I'm a cat lover, I love the simple decor and the cat themed portraits.

First and foremost, I'd like to give a huge thank you to Jeanette for being such a wonderful host…read moreand treating us like family. She is a key reason as to why we want to keep coming back; her attitude and enthusiasm is fantastic. Me and my family enjoyed our dinner and loved every dish we ordered. Their wonton soup is an excellent choice for a starter and can be shared up to at least 3 people. The wontons are fresh and tasty, the mushrooms are chunky and complement well with the bakchoy. There's even thinly sliced red pork which adds some taste and texture to the soup. We thoroughly enjoyed their spicy Mongolian chow fun. This had some sweetness to it but also some heat which was just right. The beef was super tender! It melts in your mouth. My wife ordered the Sun Kitchen sushi special which was delicious and had big pieces. The quality of sushi here is great! My son enjoyed his bento box which consisted of teriyaki grilled chicken, salad with creamy sesame dressing and then large pieces of vegetable tempura. This is an excellent deal with a good amount of choices to choose from. Jeanette and Tony frequently stopped by to check on us and made sure our meals were good and our drinks were refilled. They are so accommodating and inviting. The music they were playing in the background was on point! They were playing smooth R&B in which me and my wife were dancing. It's spacious inside the restaurant and can hold a good amount of guests. I will say, I wish the temperature was cooler inside; it was a bit warm but didn't really bother us. We can't wait to come back! We love this place!
