Quite expensive but terrific. Try the Korean speciality Bibimbap. Love it.

    e. Be warned that this isn't a place you should go for a quick lunch (the sushi is freshly prepared to order), but with the quality of food on offer, you really shouldn't be rushing it anyway

Bayee Village has been producing reliable, tasty Chinese food in Wimbledon for decades and there is a sister restaurant in Putney. The decor is great, from the 2 stone lions guarding the entrance to the large fish tank and Chinese lanterns inside. You are also always assured of a warm welcome and better service than in many Chinatown restaurants. The food is a mixture of Peking (north) and Szechuan (southwest) cuisine. The house speciality is seafood and if your budget can stretch, you won't be disappointed with the lobster and spring onion on a bed of crispy noodles, steamed whole sea bass with ginger and spring onion, kung po king prawns with sweet chilli sauce and garlic and soft shell crab with fresh chilli pepper and garlic salt. The other non seafood dishes are also good. A good solid local Chinese restaurant.

It was fresh, full of flavours and it even felt as though i was eating healthy food! I had a gorgeous aubergine dish that was gorgeous and their crispy duck was really tasty as well as their cashew nut dishes. We had some really nice wine here as well. The decor is quite strange, with a classic piano and aquarium in the restaurant but i guess it gave us something to look at while we waited...and we were waiting for quite a while...maybe this is a good sign as it made me think everything was being cooked freshly from scratch, otherwise they were just being really slow. The service of the waiters was a little on the slow side but luckily we weren't in a rush. The prices were all pretty reasonable as well. I will return if i'm in the area.

The lassi was runny and insipid, the prawns were chewy like they had been microwaved, the tandoori dishes were cooked in an oven not a tandoor, the other friends curries were warm at best and lacked a flavor. Two stars because the stuffed paratha was good and the staff themselves realized how poor our experience had been and apologized. Afterwards all four of us said never again.

It wasn't pay day yet and I was digging out pennies from the bottom of my bag in the hope that I could treat myself to a meal. So the premise is simple at the Viceroy. Every dish is half price. It's like the food is on sale! The menu basically reads like this; the dishes are listed at their original price, and each price has a red line drawn through it and then the half price written next to it. Its an ingenious idea- I doubt the food was ever actually at the full price, but it makes gullible people (like myself), think that they are cleverly saving themselves a small fortune. The meal that I had was great. I am not going to tell you that it was the best Indian that I have ever eaten, but it certainly was the cheapest. I had about 3 dishes, and that came to £10.00. I am on a mission to find a meal and a drink for a tenner in London, and this has edged me slightly closer to my goal. The restaurant was also very full, so clearly I was the only person in Molesey who hadn't got the memo about the Viceroy.
