We came to see the Sculpture "The Awakening" which is a massive sculpture of a giant who is struggling to get out of the ground. It's not a single sculpture but five separate sculptures that make up "The Awakening". Great park to visit - not only for the sculpture but for some peace and quiet.

When we first got here, we noticed the park is in a pretty secluded area, and not many people were around unless they were going to the library that is connected to the parking lot. There are so many different parts of this park, including "The Awakening" sculpture, an amphitheater, a walking trail with a waterfront, and a Veterans memorial. The park was very clean, and we loved everything we experienced. The sculpture was so cool and is basically a steel man broken up into different separated body parts, who looks like he is trying to free himself from the ground. It's unbelievable how big this is in person, and we loved it. The Veterans Memorial was gorgeous and included significant quotes, a fountain, and American flags with every branch of the military included. The waterfront and trails were gorgeous, and we saw many HUGE ducks, cardinals, and wildlife. We loved the isolated walking trail because it had such beautiful views. Homes are being built around there, too, and the water would be such a gorgeous view to have every day from a home window. We weren't able to go to the amphitheater because they were getting ready for a summer night free concert event, but when we left, many people were gathering to go to the event. You can bring your own beer as long as it's in a can, so that's awesome and unlike many other public areas! Overall, if I lived in St. Louis, I could see myself regularly coming to this park and the surrounding area often. It's definitely a tranquil place where you can be one with nature and enjoy the views and entertainment.

Zachary's Playground is the main feature and main reason for this park. A small water spray pad is next to the playground. Two pavilions are available for picnickers, the park has restrooms, and a half-mile path provides a short stroll.

It took us 1 1/2 hours to complete the trail. Looks like you can fish on the dock or by boat at the boat ramp. There is a swimming cove for the other side of the entrance. The trail is quite easy and is clean of debris. I would like to come back in the late summer/ fall to see the tree leaves!

The cabins were of filth, and the showers there are mucky and there is rust, splotches of?? random muck everywhere in every corner of the bathroom. Not to mention the ants everywhere plus other bugs. Not even during night time. Don't even think about testing the theory yourself, just stay away from the camping experience. Other than that, I would reccomend this park to those who want a nice afternoon maybe enjoying the cool breeze, staring at flowers and other wildlife outside or go biking. It's pretty beautiful!

Park development was a partnership between O'Fallon and the MO Department of Conservation. Because of that O'Day offers more natural settings and omits athletic fields. Features: -O'Day Lodge, a rental facility for business conferences and other activities. -Amphitheater for free community concerts and plays. -Adventure playground with unique items like a ropes course, group swings, and climbing logs. -Paved and natural walking and cycling paths. -Picnic pavilions. -Splash pad. Park developers also retained or added natural settings such as meadows, prairies, and woods.

Weldon Springs City Park is a little gem hidden in Weldon Springs with nice walking trail around a…read morepond, some ball fields, plenty of picnic tables and pavilions, and a large playground with some shaded spots. The playground has lots of swings and two large climbing areas. It's easy to get the stroller onto the playground and walk around, even in the woodchips. We can't wait to go back to play!
