A small selection of baked goods on counter. Menu consists of wraps, burgers and a handful of brekkie items. Despite being a small menu it caters to all tastes. My friend got the small victories sandwich which is bacon fried egg tomato in slices of bread. He inhaled it and liked the freshness from the tomato. I had the lamb wrap with pulled succulent lamb, refreshing pieces of cucumber and tomato, delicious undertones of the sauce and complementary sourness and crumbly texture from the feta. The wrap itself was a thin white wrap. I devoured mine too and the hot crinkly cut chips were a bonus Our coffees were robust yet creamy. Great value for money. Good friendly service.

My daughter had been telling me about the steak and eggs since she landed a month ago and promised me she would take me as soon as I arrived. It's all I could think about to get me through the terrible airplane food. Worth every uncomfortable minute of poor sleep and food deprivation. The flavors are impossible to describe in these dishes but are absolute perfection. She got the eggs Benedict which is placed on a base of yuzu instead of the traditional muffin. We scraped the sauce up using the lotus root and lettuce until nothing was left. The steak was tender and flavorful with a mushroom gravy that wasn't too heavy but perfect for dipping the fries and eggs into. It's all I think about now, day in and day out until I can go back and eat it again. It haunts my every waking minute. I don't know what I'll do when I have to fly home and can't get it back in the states. If you find yourself anywhere near Melbourne...or Australia...make the trek to Humble Rays in Carlton. It's worth it. Everything on the menu looked amazing. The banana matcha cloud and Orange espresso are both unique and unexpected plays on the traditional drinks that will change your mind about all sorts of flavors. The service and ambience also win! We were lucky and got there right before the line stacked up down the block. It is recommended you make a reservation even for brunch. That line was looooong. But worth it!

It's fluffy, creamy, and just a little sweet. It's mixed in with their house blend which is one of the best I've had. Their coffee is on point! The cafe itself is a sleek and modern affair with hardwood timber countertops and a neat and tidy decor. The staff are friendly and with an open window bench top and street-side sitting, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sunshine during the warmer months. Annoying Brother loses some points due to their menu. I'm not the kind of vegan that demands that cafes cater 100% to my needs, but the menu here completely lacks diversity. I can only see one vegetarian option, and there is nothing that could be made vegan. Considering the number of great breakfast places that cater to all diets in the area, it is a little disappointing. If I'm looking for a caffine hit while I'm in the area though, I will definitely find myself sitting by the street, enjoying the rays.

They take their coffee very seriously here at Wide Open Road, so much so that there is a coffee menu, which makes me feel like a total dork when all I order is a skinny flat white. But for me, it's all about the food. I always tend to go for the healthier option when it comes to breakky (I tend to get less healthy as the day goes on) so on past occasions have treated myself to the Bircher Muesli and the Cauliflower Quinoa Fritters. Both delicious and filling. Sometimes, yes, you will be asked to wait a few minutes for a seat but PLEASE don't leave in a huff of disgust. I have never had to wait more than three minutes even when they've threatened us with twenty. The staff here are so bloody efficient and friendly I basically want to move in.
