Called set up first meeting with a very qualified tutor. Duc the director told me every tutor is very skilled in math and the one my child needed help on was a easy one. I was told no time will be wasted in tutoring and they knew the material. This was a lie, the tutor had to look up the problems and figure them out first before showing how to do them. Time wasted when you are changing $75 per hour. A lot of kids teaching kids. I did not get a skilled teacher. Waste of money read more

My son loves Mathnasium, he says it's fun and he wants to keep going there. The staff there helps him with problem solving, revisits past grade level math and even have problems of the week where they can earn punches that lands them a treat or gadget. So far this is our third week, my son attends 3x a week with additional intervention at school which helps us a lot and also motivates curiosity and learning. Tutoring can be fun if you allow it to be! This program will definitely help engage his brain and prepare him for higher level math. This is a very good place to sharpen your child's math skills. From elementary until high school, they have very competent tutors who makes learning math easier and interesting. Their curriculum is very well designed which helps the children stay engaged. Their little reward incentives keep the kids motivated. My son loves Mathnasium. According to him " Mathnasium has helped him in school". I have noticed the same. Mathnasium has made him love maths which was not his favorite subject before. They give him individual attention and make learning fun with a good reward system. It's not like Kumon which focuses on repetition. They are not exactly common core either. They teach them concepts differently and it seems to work well. When I observed 1 or 2 of his online sessions, i wish I had something similar when I was growing up. read more

She does all the work at the center and gets help there when needed. There are always several instructors on hand, who from time to time check in on her work, as well as respond to her when she asks for help. The center director is friendly, helpful and informative. My daughter and son went to Mathnasium in Evergreen Village Square. They both score below average in math at school. They were in Mathnasium for 2 years. I see improved in both of them. They liked math more and not afraid when he come to math now. The teachers are fabulous here. Our favorite instructor are Patty and Tram. They are so friendily and patient with my kids. They are very flexible with my schedule and keep me up to date with my children progress. I like the attention that my children received at this center. My kids were going to Mathnasium at The Plant Shopping Center for a couple years and although we liked the tutors, once Mathnasium opened at Evergreen Village Square, I transferred them there since it was so much closer to my house. Ray the director and the head tutor Christopher are very nice. They care about the students. The days/times that you go to this Mathnasium are by appointment so that they make sure they have enough tutors per students. After each session, there's a summary form of what they worked on. They have hired more tutors as their enrollment increases. The kids work on worksheets on areas they need to improve. If there is a test or homework you want them to help your kids with, they will also do that. There are no additional worksheets that you take home. The place is spacious and clean and my kids enjoy going there for tutoring. read more

It has been about 3 months since my daughter started tutoring at Mathnasium. I have seen a drastic improvement in her attitude about math. Her confidence level has significantly increased and she looks forward to her sessions because she loves the environment, the staff and learning is made fun! Our son is very positive about it. He is part of several activities and pointedly ask him if he enjoys going to Mathnesium. He likes going there. We can also see that he is getting better at math. More importantly we feel the location is run by people who are diligent and sincere. Every time we have spoken to the owner or the supervisor lady we have come back reassured that these folks have the best of the student in your minds. Even though they are a for profit outfit, to me, intention and volition matters. Because I feel in the end, that is most important because then we know that over time they would overcome any temporary shortcomings and do right by the students. In particular, I want to mention that the staff is firm but also kind to students. At this tender age both those traits matters. In tomorrow's world perhaps the only thing that won't be outdated is mathematical skills. So it is important to not discourage young minds away from learning math. But at the same time they need persuasion and discipline to put in the hard work needed to move ahead. It is hard to get this mix right and these folks seem to have it. read more
