Bible is a regular subject and there are daily prayers and a weekly chapel where all grades gather for worship and then to listen to an age-appropriate Biblical message. It's comforting knowing that our values and beliefs are being reinforced at school by like-minded adults, most of whom see their job at Excel as a ministry. Another aspect that I really appreciate is the small class sizes. There is only one class per grade, so my daughter has been with the same group of kids throughout her school career. This has allowed her to form deeper friendships than she would be able to having to start over with a new class each year and it also means I am familiar with most of her classmates and their parents so I know who she is hanging out with and what kind of homes they are from. Each teacher so far has had his or her own teaching style and personality, but I have no complaints about any of them. They have all been very loving and caring in their own way. Excel is non-Denominational and not sponsored by any particular church or denomination, so there is a diverse mix of students and teachers who attend many different Christian churches in the area. While it's a small school, it is still relatively ethnically diverse for its size. I expected that there would be a trade off with diversity when we chose to send our daughter there, but have been pleasantly surprised that she has never been the only person of color in her class and our interracial family has never once felt out of place or discriminated against in the slightest. Academically, I have no complaints. The curriculum (besides Bible, obviously) seems pretty standard and similar to what you'd find in a public school. My daughter is on part with her grade level. Yes, it is a private school. Yes, you have to pay money for something that the government is willing to give you for "free," but it's money well spent, in my opinion. We aren't wealthy. We are a working class family struggling to get by, but we are happy to go without many things to know that our children are growing up being taught about the redeeming love of Christ at the place they spend most of their waking hours because at the end of the day that's what will give them the best shot at being happy in life.

I went to the school to check and the lady at the front office was kind of kicking me out of the school saying: if you didn't receive a phone call from us this mean that there is no spot for her. I asked her to check for my daughter's name and she kept repeating the same sentence loudly in the most rude way without even bother herself to check the name list. Many activities are seasonally related and planned ahead, she always gives us the schedule ahead of time. Not only the curriculum, but also they learn how to be kind humans to each other, to the world, to the planet in general. Kids become sweetest humans. She always send you pictures of the kiddos so you are aware of what they are up to, also feel like you aren't missing out much. School and Ms Becky is the cleanest. She follows the state rules and guidance throughly, I'm confident kids are in great hands once they are in her school. She is a great communicator as well, she reports everything that matters to the families even if it's such a minor thing. She is also the most patient human ever. Many of the parents are amazed how she directs and navigates these young children who sometimes get out of control. She is fair, and treats every students with so much respects and I believe that's why every kids respect her back. Our youngest is graduating this spring and we are very saddened about how we won't get to see her regularly.
