I brought my son in for an evaluation test two weeks ago. The location seemed nice and wasn't too crowded at 3;30. However as an hour went by there were many more students and only 3 or 4 tutors for over 20 children. Not a great ratio and most students were just doing work on their own. As we finished our evaluation, the director had left for the day. I was told by a rotor that they would grade his test and that the director would contact me. However I never got any follow up from the director. I got ghosted by a business I was going to spend money with. That plus the unbalanced ratio of tutor to student is the reason for giving this location a low review score. read more

Our daughter during COVID joined Mathnasium at Redmond, WA. She was motivated to attend and started working harder when their reward system was introduced to her, the staff was incredible supportive all the time. Now she can't wait to earn points so she can save for some cool items. She was proud of herself every time she completed the math work and understood the importance of doing and learning all the concepts correctly as instructed. I was hesitant to do this because the cost is a little expensive BUT it is well worth it! My child and a bunch of her friends (all second graders) go here, and she feels like this is a play date. I thought that would be distracting, but Franky makes sure the kids are head down into their work. Chris has a very chill attitude and the kids just love him. All the tutors here really care--I mean, really care. My son had a huge entrance exam coming up and the tutors and managers gave him extra time and helped him with work that differed from the Mathnasium curriculum but which he needed for his exam. They are thorough and focused and have helped my son gain a new confidence in math. His elementary school teacher noticed that my son speaks up more during math hour and participates more in the discussions and demonstrates the fundamentals and calculations with more clarity than he did the months prior to his Mathnasium sessions. He wanted to do another math session the day AFTER his grueling exam. He feels safe and happy at Mathnasium and enjoys the atmosphere here. Imagine your child wanting to come do more math the day after a 3-hour exam! We try to come 3 days a week and even 4 or 5 times when he was prepping for his exam. It would be great if Saturdays were available too because sometimes during the week, it's difficult to make the afternoons with so much going on. Over the last three years, my daughter began attendng MAthnasium of Westwood. It all started when her 6th grade math teacher refused to explain key concepts to the class and didn't want the students to ask questions. With this teacher's attitude came my daughter's new attitude: "I HATE MATH!" One day at work after passing down Mathnasium of W I called and made an appointment for the same afternoon. We met the Director, he gave her a placement test and from then on we were hooked! She finally was able to ask questions, and not feel bad doing so. This place is amazing. My son first started going here 2 years ago and was not a very good student in Math. Within a couple of months, we noticed a marked improvement in his performance and now he pretty much gets almost a 100% on all math tests. First Chris and now Dan are super attentive and run the center so efficiently. They tailor the instruction based on your child's needs, like focusing on an upcoming test prep or homework help. When I was having trouble with geometry and was almost failing the class right when I got to Mathnasium they helped raise my grade to an A.
