I am not sure what the staff/teacher there do with the children but they sure like the place & even their weekly homework. Give them a try and see. It is really nice to see that your children will actually sit at the table to do some study other than school work. Lesson is once/week (45 min) for each subject. They go with Allen school holidays so they do have few school closing but I think it's nice (we can take vacation)... My kids have been there for over 8 months and it's always pleasure to drop them and pick them up. There's always place to park and the staff there monitors my kids from running out of there before I'm there. They also have security camera in the classroom & throughout the facility. Overall, it's a nice, friendly & fun place for my kids to go afterschool once/week to get extra help on their English & Math. Check it out!

As in any school or establishment individual experience is going to be different, depending upon the teacher in classroom in with your child is placed. I picked my child up today only to hear her screaming at him through the door. I arrived early to pick him up. As I approached the classroom door I heard her yelling at him to go to sleep calling him a baby and telling him he needs to go to the baby room since he won't sleep. My son was crying telling her he didn't want to go to the baby room saying "I'm a big boy". This was not a stern or firm teacher voice, this was screaming and berating my son in front of his classmates during their nap time. My son should not have had to go through that, the other children in the class should not have had to hear that. As a former teacher myself this is NO WAY in which to speak to a child, especially for not napping. This "teacher" does not deserve the title and should not be working with children. Once she came to the door, her tone completely changed, she became extremely soft spoken and sweet. The hypocrisy was ridiculous. I mentioned the experience to the front staff as the director of the school was not there. They apologized.

He started Reading Ranch, 2x a week, in the spring semester of Kindergarten and has continued year round; he's now in 2nd grade. When he started he was at the bottom of his class, and now he is among the top readers in his class. I attribute much of his success to tutoring, encouragement, and advocacy from Dr. Kim and the teachers at Reading Ranch. My son really enjoys time with everyone at Reading Ranch, and especially loves Ms. Debbi; she is his constant cheer leader! We have gone to both the Frisco and McKinney locations, and both are great!
