They would place me on a strict schedule based on the number of sessions I purchased and were so caught up in writing what they thought college admissions boards would want to read that I ended up submitting personal statements that were not so personal. With that said, Sean is not your typical college admissions counselor. He treated me like an actual person, not just a paycheck. At our first session, Sean took the time to simply talk to me and figure out what drove me to this particular career path. He then helped me channel my passion into an eloquent, interesting general personal statement that was later tailored to four different graduate programs. In working with Sean, I did not get just a personal statement, I got complete application support. He gave me his cellphone number and encouraged me to text him with any questions between sessions. He was always quick to respond and would also text me to check-in on my progress. This type of regular communication allowed us to get the small details out of the way and focus on the more important aspects of each application during our face-to-face meetings. Applying to graduate school is overwhelming, but Sean made the process nearly stress-free. I believe his genuine interest in my success was key to writing a personal statement that stood out in a pile of cookie cutter essays. Due to his diagnosis, learning to read, understanding the alphabet, phonics have all been an uphill battle for him. Throw in covid and unfortunately he got further behind. So, in steps Sylvan. (He had a private tutor, who was a substitute teacher), who tutored him once and then quit because she didn't feel she was a good fit. I met with Ms. Gabrielle, the Center Director who was so welcoming and really understood a lot of my concerns. She addressed one of my concerns regarding my son needing accommodations to see and hear letters and sounds and she was able to make this accommodation for him and if not, it was a deal breaker for us. Second, Our private speech therapist had a 40 minute conversation with Ms. Gabrielle about how my son learns, where he's at with his language and what not to say because he honestly doesn't understand what that means. She has proven herself to be so instrumental in my sons ability to learn. She has also communicated this to my sons teachers. In about 4 months, my son has almost closed a years worth of learning. His teachers, Ms. Jen, Ms. Heather, Ms. Mimi And Ms. Rachel are treasures!! They really know how to teach and having them at sylvan is an asset and I'm hoping the directors notice this. These teachers truly care and I can see my sons self esteem and confidence surge! Thank You So Much Ms. Gabrielle and to my sons teachers!

We purchased 8 - 2 hour sessions to prepare her for the Mar and June ACT. He came once a week initially and then we moved to every 2 weeks toward the end. He was prompt, encouraging, thorough, and did not waste any time once he arrived at our home. My daughter really enjoyed her time with him and felt it help to prepare her in ways she could not have done on her own. He identified areas that she needed the most help with and helped her to use her time more wisely. She increased her overall score by 6 points. We were extremely please. Mr. Kelly is fabulous!

Michael Jordan refused and proceed to email me, blaming me for not reviewing a map on his website. He was flippant and rude to the point where I had to ask him not to email me again. The person that referred me to him said they would NEVER recommend this company to anyone ever again. If I could rate "zero" stars, I would. Found the most amazing SAT tutor later.
