My father-in-law, whom I consider one of the smartest men I've ever met (attorney and real estate mogul), encouraged me to sign up my daughter for Kumon. He said it's all about repetition, and he was right. Kumon has been a trusted math and reading tutoring system that has been around for 50 years. My daughter started when she was 3 1/2 years old, and she has already exceeded my expectations 100 percent. Kumon is an after school program too, so a child or teen any age can benefit from it. Each center is individually owned, and I really like this one on Silverado Ranch. The lead instructor is Michael Morrison, and he runs the center. The first step is to call him at the center and he will set up an appointment to assess your child. When Grace was assessed, he does at when the center is not doing any tutoring, and he can meet with my daughter and myself. You can choose either math or reading or both. We chose to do both, there is a monthly payment plan, but we choose to pay 6 months in advance and received a discount, coming to $1500 total. We are finishing up our first 6 months and will be signing up again. It is totally worth it, I feel my daughter has a huge academic edge already. We plan to complete the entire course over the years to come. At this tutor center, I am pleased with our tutor. My daughter goes to Kumon twice a week for 30-50 min, and always sees the same tutor Ms. Freya. We love Ms Freya! She is very professional, friendly and keeps the little ones on task in a nice manner. My daughter seems to learn a lot from her and listen to her. Overall, this center seems to have consistent tutors with very little turnover. That says a lot about Micheal, he must be a good leader to his team. Parents can wait in the lobby, there is a glass so we can see our kids hard at work and keeps everything done with our kids in plain view. that means a lot to over-protective moms like me. Lastly, I would like to point out that us as parents have to be involved with their Kumon work. There is homework, and if your Kids are as young as mine, you must be with them to help them through all the homework. If your kids are older, they are more independent with their homework. Fun, Child Friendly…read more We just finished the three week program with Shannon. It was super easy to sign up for the class and Shannon e-mailed me right away about the classes. We received flash cards and a sign language book as part of the class, which are helpful to remember the signs after learning the correct gesture during the class. My mother and wife attended with us as grandparents are invited to attend, and we all practice our signs with each other so we use consistent signs with the baby. I supplemented the class by watching some YouTube videos, but I enjoyed the live class because we could ask questions and get the repetition of the signs through songs and practice. Definitely recommend!

She had D in all 3 subjects and a C in Math. So in January of Jan/Feb of 2016 I enrolled her at Sylvan. I knew it made a huge difference from seeing how she was even reading complicated medical terms about a month and a half into the program. Yesterday she received an A-B Honor Roll for Semester 2!!! I am so grateful for Ms. Debbie for all her words of encouragement and also her teacher for staying in contact with Sylvan working as a team. What an excellent program!
