One of my younger cousins go here, and he absolutely loves it, and from what I can tell, this is a really great school. All my little cousin talks about is about motivated mustangs and the different clubs to join. He also tell me about all the sports divisions they provide. Every time that I pick him up from school, he talks about what he learns. Yeah they are kinda learning things that could maybe be put off a year, but it's good because it's beneficial for their learning and if they're good at hard stuff now, they'll be a pro at it later. That's what I think the plan is here at Mater Academy Mountain Vista. The teachers are also very understanding and cooperative including coaches. Especially Ms. Shelton (2022) I believe she's the volleyball coach, and I hear she does a lot more than that. She's the music teacher, sports manager, elementary student council president. It's so many things that these teachers do to show they are committed into their job and they're willing to take the time to work with students and help them be the best they can be. Mrs. Carbajah (2022) is a wonderful lady and she makes this school great ! From what I hear she's been here at this school since the beginning and has helped it improve over the years. This shows even more how committed all the staff of Mater Academy is. I also love how they have socials to keep families posted on the daily of what going on. Commenting on alexus Ayala he's right. The school isn't that bad, but it could be better. The food isn't that bad the cleaness needs to be worked on, and some teachers, don't even have enough respect for students, and sometimes I even wonder how they got a teaching license, but some teachers really do take their job. Seriously and try to make it as fun as possible. Do not . I repeat do not take your kids to this school & especially let them play soccer for their current jv coach ( 2022) During the semi finals of our soccer tournament, their coach cursed out the whole entire team BOTH TEAMs & the opposing coach. When this concern was brought out to the current principal (2022) she simply stated " Thanks for your feed back" Mind you , the principal was there as well as what it seemed as the whole admin team . They sat back and tolerated this monstrosity. If you're okay with someone belittle your children , and cursing them out , and treating them like low-lives then is is the perfect school for you !! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. they are over crowded and do not pay enough attention to the children. Especially the little ones. I've had multiple issues brought to my attention by my child and everytime I try and bring it to faculty attention, I feel like I am being pacified and gaslit. The whole set up is wrong, the wait time for picking up is outrageous because you have to wait for all the cars to leave before you can pull off. I had one meeting with someone there bc I took my child directly back to school after he told me that another child touched him inappropriately. They still let my child go to the bathroom with that child. At the crosswalk, the one aid is constantly throwing out F bombs or other inappropriate words while kids are crossing. I've watched several times when at play, the kids are hitting and kicking eachother and the teachers are grouped up by the slides all huddled up talking to eachother.
