Since starting at Josh, her mood has improved dramatically, which has been a wonderful change. Her teacher, Ms. Weaver, is truly exceptional and genuinely cares for her students. My daughter was struggling academically, and Ms. Weaver called us to express her concerns. We decided to have our daughter evaluated, and she was diagnosed with ADHD, hyperfocus type. Once we understood what was going on, we were able to support her better. Her grades improved significantly, and she received two awards at the end of the school year. Ms. Weaver supported her every step of the way and played a vital role in helping her succeed. While the teachers have been wonderful, the front office staff could benefit from additional training. We've also encountered some issues with bullying. I had to personally address a situation with a child who continued to bother my daughter. Ms. Weaver did her best to handle the issue and even involved the other child's parents. To the parents of children who bully others: please do better. Teach your children to respect others and to keep their hands to themselves. I saw child at the park bullying a kid and the other child beat him up because he was tired of being picked on. Please raise your kids right!

The first time it happened, my Niece contacted the school and the police. She told them that she would not press charges against the bully if the school stepped up and protected her son. A couple of weeks later, and my great nephew came home, HYSTERICAL with visible injuries AGAIN. My niece went to talk to the school and wouldn't talk to my niece because she was angry. This led my niece to report the abuse to the police. So my niece wrote a letter to the district requesting re-training of the administration on how to protect kids from bullies and guess what the school's response was? They actually "trespassed" my niece and her family and told my nephew in law that their children don't even have any rights in that school because they !! They ACTUALLY WORK TO PROTECT THE BULLY, while treating the bully like THEY are the one that needs to be protected! We are actually contacting an attorney in this matter.

They make you feel like part of a community or family. Like your children are in safe, capable hands and learning to be their best selves. Communication is an issue. A week into my children attending I start getting these emails telling me to pay. I figured Urban League pays on a certain day of the month so I was just getting the messages by default. Then I received an actual text from the school asking me to pay and I was so confused. Why hadn't someone from the school told me? Today, same deal. I'm told $220 is due next week for summer camp. No flyers sent home with the school. No outline of what summer camp includes versus what's offered any other time of the year. It's daycare. I didn't realize summer was outside of their normal business hours. It's not like it's an elementary school and I'm paying for the kids to attend outside of the regular school year. Naturally, I was pretty upset. I went to pick up my kids and asked about this random $220. I was told that it's $110 per kid and it covers the entire summer (but the regular weekly tuition is still due). They bring in a petting zoo and have other fun activities. I wish I would have been told this in advance. I don't have a problem with it, what I have a problem with is the lack of communication. What if I didn't have the money? I am, after all, on Urban league. The fees and the services that go along with those fees should be clearly communicated. They shouldn't just be requesting payment. Outside of the communication issue it's a very nice school. My kids enjoy it. The facility is clean. They feed the kids two meals and a snack and they even have a graduation for the kids that are on their way to kindergarten. I love the school itself. The communication aspect of it absolutely needs work because I don't think they understand nor taken to consideration the hardship that comes with charging people fees without notice.

As a mom, I was incredibly nervous about trusting someone else to watch him after only family has done so for his first year. But Emilie has been nothing short of amazing. She treats Adonis as if he were her own, always comforting him and making him feel loved and safe. The peace of mind I have knowing he is in such caring and capable hands is priceless.
