It is difficult to have an accurate address for Matchbox, as Matchbox is a tiny little kiosk perched on the right side of Brockley Station. By right side I mean the one that I use. They used to be on the opposite side, but i think they figured that more people head into central London in the mornings, therefore they would have more buisiness on the 'right side'.
I love Matchbox. Firstly, it is very very cute and decorated. Secondly, they serve you tea/ coffee/ breakfasty things like pain au chocolats with a big smile, and make mornings more bearable. Thirdly, they have amazing homemade flapjacks and cookies (go for the lemon and poppy seed flapjack for a quid) which will set you up for the coldest day. AND in a recent poll, they do the best coffee in Brockley. How cool is that.
There is always a bit of a queue, but they are really cool if they are aware that a train is coming, that can be a bit of a bother sometimes, and I have foregone getting on a train in the past, just to ensure I got my hot chocolate and eat natural bar. Yes! They sell them too. read more
