I visited for the first time on Sunday afternoon, 26 April 2026. I was visiting family for the day from out of town and I came here with a college friend for a mid-afternoon drink. MATCHA DRINKS -- The price is fair as Matcha will be expensive at most places. I ordered the Einspanner Matcha Latte ($7.50) which has vanilla cream top, matcha, and milk. By the way, Einspanner is a German word that means vanilla or vanilla cream. I choose oat milk in my drink which is an extra 0.75 cents. So, I paid a little over $8 with tax for my drink. Tipping is optional. The Einspanner Matcha Latte is great - it isn't too sweet at all. I was worried that the drink would be too sweet but it was perfect especially with ice on a warm day. MATCHA TYPES -- There are various types of Matcha to choose from. They offer traditional Matcha with just water ($5.50), a classic Strawberry Matcha Latte ($7.50), a Lavender Matcha Latte ($7.50), regular Matcha latte ($7.00) which is Matcha with milk, Matcha Lemonade ($6.75), etc. The quality of their ceremonial grade matcha is good and it is sourced straight from Japan. They have 2 different cup sizes that you can choose from and both are the same price. I choose the bigger cup which is 8oz, I think. COFFEE -- Besides Matcha, they also offer a few coffee drinks for purchase such as a salted honey latte, a cinnamon maple latte, etc SERVICE -- Customer service was quick and efficient. There were 3 ladies working behind the counter and they worked fast. AMBIANCE -- Simple layout yet cute. The cafe itself is very small so it is more of a grab and go cafe. There are only 2 tables with 2 chairs on each table inside. That didn't bother me because I wasn't planning to sit in as I took my drink to go with my friend. It was a beautiful day so we took a walk outside towards OSU's campus with our drinks in hand. They sell some merchandise with a 'Matcha Me' logo on them (sweaters and hats). Cute quaint matcha cafe near campus. This is my new go-to spot for a quick matcha whenever I'm in Columbus. I always get the salted honey matcha latte with vanilla cream top added. It's simply delicious, the matcha is robust, the sea salt and honey combo takes this over the moon! The staff is super sweet and kind. They prepare everything with care which I love. Parking is on the street but available. There's seating but not much. No public bathroom which is fine for this quick matcha experience. read more

This is a tiny place, cute and clean. I ordered mine to go but I may not feel too comfortable staying only because the place is so small. Street parking is all over but when I visited (on a Tuesday around noon), most of the spots around the store were taken and I had to park about a block away-totally not a big deal though. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't try any of the pastries but they all looked yummy. I had a hot matcha latte with oat milk. It was small (I believe they only have 1 size for hot drinks) and OVER $10 (tax, tip included)!! I believe they use high quality matcha but I didn't expect it to be so much omg. They have a menu on the wall but no price - plus I didn't think it was so much so I casually ordered my drink and was surprised to see the number on the machine xD The drink tasted good but not worth the money in my opinion. This was a cute hole-in-the-wall place with a couple of seats. The matcha was meticulously weighed out, freshly whisked, and poured to order. The strawberry matcha latte was served with a strawberry sugar coated straw. The straw was a cute idea but it was a coated paper straw so it disentigrated as the sugar melted when drinking from it. The strawberry syrup on the bottom was overpowering the matcha flavor. The einspanner matcha latte was flavorful, and matcha really was the star of the show. I have been wanting to try this place ever since I saw it on social media a year ago and I'm so glad I finally had time to visit when I was back in town! It was a little difficult to find street parking since it's near OSU campus. The store itself is cute and relatively small with minimal seating (2 tables). The staff were friendly and patient. We ordered the seasonal banana bread matcha with oatmilk and einspanner cream top and a lavender matcha with oatmilk. The banana flavor paired so well with the matcha! The lavender matcha was also very good. I'd have to say the banana bread matcha was my favorite so I'd recommend that while it's still on the menu. Love how they hand whisk the matcha and make all the drinks in front of you! The only downside is that it was $17 total for both drinks, but it's definitely worth it for a treat yourself kinda thing! read more

We made a quick stop in Columbus for some matcha at Matcha Me, a cozy little shop right next to The Ohio State University. After seeing it all over social media, we knew we had to check it out. Pictured are the Banana Bread Matcha Latte and the Einspanner Latte. The matcha had a strong banana flavor that felt natural, not artificial, which I really appreciated. The Einspanner Latte was a solid iced coffee with great quality and flavor. The service was fast and great. She answered all of our questions and the matcha came out very quick right after ordering. I would have preferred if the banana bread had a little more sweetness to it, but still enjoyed my drink. This place is walkable from the OSU campus and had a very college-y crowd. Frankly I'm surprised that college students can afford close to $10 for a beverage, though many of them appeared to be accompanied by parental units. Ordering a strawberry matcha got me an aesthetically pleasing set of layers. I couldn't quite get the flavors to mix the way I wanted to, but it was interesting. It apparently comes iced by default, so I gave my leftover ice time to melt before I really got all of the strawberry at the bottom. This is some of the highest quality matcha I have tried in Columbus! My favorite drinks from here have been the Matcha Einspanner Latte, the banana bread matcha latte, and the strawberry matcha. They are a bit pricey ($9-10) compared to other shops in the area, but usually I will get a large and split it at home with a little milk since they have potent products. I like how you can get an extra matcha shot for $1! The cafe itself is very small and better suited for to-go orders. The lines can get very long, but the team is super efficient and measures their matcha on a scale to ensure quality. It is a great stop when running to do errands or go on a walk. read more

I added honey and it might be throwing off the taste because it wasn't blended in with the matcha. There's a sweet aftertaste rather than a sweet taste as you're drinking it. They've been on my list since I've seen posts about them on IG. My friend and I were walking around the neighborhood and stopped by. It's a tiny space. Two tables with a couple chairs but the register is right by the door so it can get tight if there's too many people inside. I ordered the strawberry matcha while my friend opted for the matcha with a vanilla cream on top, called the Einspinner. Pretty looking drinks! I didn't think my drink had as strong of a matcha flavor as my friends. So I did like hers a bit more but I'm glad both drinks weren't too sweet. They only served the drinks iced so I'm wondering if they could make them hot. They have a lot of info about their matcha on their website and IG if you're interested. It seems to be of high quality! This new matcha cafe specializes in lattes and handcrafted matcha drinks! You can choose from refreshing options like their strawberry matcha latte, which also came with a cool, edible strawberry flavored straw, or their Einspänner matcha latte. I wished the strawberry flavor was a bit stronger for the strawberry matcha but the strawberry definitely added more strawberry flavor to it. The Einspänner matcha was very creamy and not too sweet. I'm a bit of a matcha snob, I'll admit I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to matcha spots. I despise the light green lower grade matchas. I've had my fair share of matcha drinks in LA and NYC, so when I stumbled upon Matcha Me on TikTok and learned that it was here in Columbus, I had to check it out. To my surprise, this cute little shop offers some of the best matcha I've had outside of those big cities! The shop keeps things simple, but in the best way possible. The menu is full of unique and thoughtfully crafted flavors that still let the matcha shine. It's hand whisked, which I love to see. I tried the salted honey matcha, it was so good--perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness and saltiness. I got the oat milk sub and I need to know where they get their oat milk from, because it was dee-licious, so creamy and smooth. And the matcha color came out a perfect emerald green. I really wanted to like this place. The service was good. To my knowledge they use ceremonial grade matcha, and their menu looked unique and appetizing. I love matcha, so I was excited. I got the strawberry matcha latte, but it was disappointingly bad. The strawberry syrup/puree was way too strong and artificial, overpowering the slightly bitter matcha. The flavors didn't go well together at all. They also provide sugar-based straws, which is a cute gimmick for the first 30 seconds until it starts disintegrating in your mouth and drink. In the end I was finishing my drink from a tube of broken sugar shards. The quality of the sugar was also very poor and grainy, and did not go well with the flavors of the drink. This is a very small store with only 2-3 tables for seating and a very low ceiling. It was not ventilated very well when I went, but that may be due to how cold it's been and management trying to keep heat in. read more

It's so cute in this shop. The only thing is the matcha has no flavor, does not taste like real green tea matcha at all. I don't know what brand they use but it's not like a pure matcha formula. I really wanted to like it. Also the strawberry matcha is legit just strawberry syrup that tastes very unflavored as well. You would think they would use a real strawberry milk or even a flavoring. Im really glad this matcha bar is located just north of OSU campus, as there's a lot more street parking in this area and makes it easier for non-college people to get in and out. The inside is quite small, heads up. Two two-seat tables and space for a small maybe three or four-person "line" if you want to call it that. I really like how the matcha powder is mixed right in front of customers' view and I can see what's going into my to-go cup. And the matcha is legit grade, big bonus! I don't like espresso, but did want something more than just matcha and plain milk, so I tried their Einspanner Matcha Latte. I forgot to say hot, so it came cold with ice (I'm not an ice fan); the gals working gladly offered to make me a new one, but I threw caution to the wind and took it as is. Verdict? Mmmm mmm mmmm! Smooth, cool, just enough ice but as it melted the flavor was still there 100 percent. I think I got a hint of hazelnut too, so I'm not sure if the gal added a squirt of that too based on our convo; maybe that's what the cream top was...? At any rate, the drink was fantastic! This place is very hidden and you will probably not find it unless you hear of it elsewhere. It's unfortunate because it is very good. Inside is very clean but tiny with no ventilation, so it can get hot in there with a lot of people. There are a couple of tables inside if you want to enjoy your matcha indoors. The employees inside are very professional and take pride in their work. They made the drinks carefully and even wiped down the rims of the cups so they were presentable. They use authentic matcha and make it in front of you so you can learn how it's made while you wait. The flavors were fantastic. It is a little on the pricier side but that's what you get with authentic matcha. Parking is a disaster since it is around the campus area. read more

A teeny tiny little matcha shop tucked into High Street. I loved it! The strawberry matcha latte (modified with oatmilk) was delicious. The strawberry flavor isn't strong at all once mixed, but it mellows out the bitterness of the matcha. It's a very earthy, soft drink with subtle sweetness, unless you take a bite of the straw or drink some of the settled syrup at the bottom. The straw gets mushy and collapses after a long while, but I enjoyed drinking through it while it lasted. Having it sit in the bottom of the cup didn't seem to affect the flavor much. Note that the edible strawberry straws are NOT vegetarian. My friend's matcha lemonade was also delicious. Very refreshing and mellow. The service was friendly and appropriately quiet for such a tiny, minimalist environment. As much as I recommend it, I hope it remains a small, calm environment. Matcha Me is a real cute place located on campus that I think is fairly new. They're a pretty small location, but surprisingly were able to fit a decent amount inside. They're very nice folks and they put so much attention and details to yours drinks. They have non-dairy milk options too! They properly make and add their matcha by finely brushing it into the drink. We got the Strawberry Matcha Latte and the Einspanner Latte and they were AMAZING. The matcha tasted so fresh and clean, unlike many other places where can taste the preservatives. It's slightly more expensive than other matcha, but this is TRUE matcha made with much detail that tastes outstanding so more than worth it. read more

The matcha is delicious and there are a lot of different and fun flavor varieties. The first time we went here me and my mom both got a strawberry matcha with oatmilk and half of the sweetener. It was delicious and not very sweet at all. The next time we tried the banana bread and mango matcha's and they were both delicious. The oatmilk is also made in house and was really good. The place is really tiny but they made it look really cute and bright inside. There are a couple tables to sit and drink the matcha but very little space so both times I've taken it to go. Also the staff was very nice and gave great recommendations! I've I'll say it's on the pricier side, around $8.50 per drink so it's definitely a treat, and since it's on high street parking isn't the most ideal, there isn't a parking lot and you may have to find street parking nearby.
