Cleaned and oiled my baby lock serger. Made a big difference in the way it stitches. Runs a lot smoother and quieter.

Wow! could not have had better service. Called and within an hour I had a used dryer installed…read more My dryer wasn't running, he diagnosed that the motor was out. I could wait for a part or buy a used one. And yes, my new to me dryer was installed. Great Service!

Am i the first to write a bad review? I hate leaving bad reviews, but i feel like i need to share…read moremy experience. I called in to schedule a time for them to come look at my washer as it was not working. He came 5/30/22 and told me that i needed a new washer motor. He told me i just needed to pay for the part at that moment so he could order it. The part was $213. No big deal, i cut him a check and he told me he would call me when it came in. He called me on 7/9/22 (10 days later) and told me the part came in and asked if he could swing by around 1pm. He came over put the new part in and turns out that did not fix the problem. He told me that my door lock wasn't locking, and that he thinks that will fix the issue. He could tell i was frustrated that it didnt fix the issue and that he will order the part at no cost to me and give me a call when it comes in. Which was awesome to hear. 8 days goes by and i still haven't heard from him. Its now 7/17/22 and i call him to get an update. He answers and said he thinks the part came in but he was not at the shop so he said he'd call me when he got over there to double check. The whole day goes by and i didn't hear back. The weekend passes and I call him again Monday 7/20/22 and he lets me know that he has my part in, but he was all booked up for that day and asked if he could come tomorrow around 11. (now 23 days without a washer) He comes over Tuesday 7/21/22 and starts putting the new door lock in the washer. He has success with getting it started and working properly. He then proceeds to tell me that all i owe him is $126. I kindly reminded him that when he was over last time that he said he would order the part and put it in at no cost to me, and he replies "oh yea i did say that." and then says that he didnt think the part was going to be as expensive as it was. He then asked me if i could pay for $80 of it to cover the part. I said F it and told him okay, i'll write a check. (which i don't think i should have paid for after he told me he wasn't going to charge me for it in the first place) but i did. After i paid him he never filled out a reciept for me, like he did the first time when he ordered the motor, so that was a bummer. It makes me question if my washer even needed a new motor to begin with, as my washer turned on and wanted to start a cycle but it had a clicking sound like it couldn't go. Which could of just been because the door wasn't locking. (so did i waste $213 on a motor that didn't even need to be fixed? i guess i'll never know) But hey, at least my washer is working now. I can't say that i'd recommend this repair shop to anyone as he was very inconsistant with getting back to me and keeping me informed. And also going back on his word when stating he'd order the door lock at no cost to me then making me pay for it in the end. I will not be using Alaskan Appliance and Repair again, and hope that others don't get the service i recieved. As a mother of two kids and a family of 4, being without a washer for 23 days was not what we were expecting.
