It caused damage in the downstairs bathroom ceiling, flooring, and the upstairs bathroom. Kurt came out and we ended up doing a complete shower remodel upstairs with the pipe repair, and replacing all the downstairs flooring. The pipe burst occurred in February and the work wasn't completed until November because getting him to come out was extremely difficult, and he often showed up late or not at all. Even getting him to do the work for the estimate on our insurance claim took forever so we had to deal with constant adjustments on our claim which was a pain. We thought that after the work was completed everything was fine, and it was for about 18 months, but then we noticed water spots on the ceiling of the downstairs bathroom. We called Kurt (several times) and eventually he came back out to look at it. He determined there was an issue with some sealing and added some more. That did not fix the issue. We have called and texted Kurt with no response since then, at times reaching out more frequently than others, to absolutely no response from him. He has completely ghosted us despite knowing that his work was not up to standards. Fast forward to June 2026, and the shower is still leaking. We broke down and finally had a plumber come out and find the source of the leak, costing $400.00. He determined the issue was water escaping the shower between glass and the wall. We reached out to Kurt again to let him know what the plumber found, to no response. We reached out again to give him an opportunity to make it right stating if he really didn't want to come fix it, we could find someone else and send him the bill. At this point, it looks like Kurt is wanting to settle this in small claims court. Our upstairs shower has been completely unusable for about a year. And yes, it is our fault for not escalating and hiring someone else sooner, but he should have actually fixed the issue back when it was first discovered. Kurt is unreliable and unprofessional. It is extremely frustrating that he just doesn't want to deal with fixing issues with his work and would stoop to dodging our calls and texts rather than doing the right thing. Don't use KPL! They do not stand by their work!
