The system was all color screens and could do things for our home like turn on lights when we are away like on a timer. They were able to install within 2 hours which was important and did not pressure us in any way to sign up. They also gave us a 30 day no questions asked cancellation if we didn't like. We have had nothing but problems with our Vector Security system since we had it installed in our…read morenew home. We thought the system in our previous house had been canceled but we continued to receive alarms for several weeks. When that was finally resolved we had problems with the display panel in the new house and were told it needed a new backup battery even though it had just been installed and since it was past 60 days we would have to pay a service fee. Then the problems with the medic alert pendant started. We received the first call on Oct 31st while my husband was in the hospital after a minor stroke and the pendant was at home on his nightstand. Apparently it needed a new battery also even though we were again assured that such failures were very unusual. We were told the earliest a repair tech could be scheduled was November 21st -- 3 weeks later. Because of the repeated problems and shortage of technicians we have asked to cancel the account but Vector refuses because we are trapped in a 3 year contract.

If your equipment is malfunctioning and they come out right away it's gonna be about $400 however, if you have a service plan and come out when your appointment is it's only $35. So if you get this equipment and you ever have an emergency, example, your alarm is going off at all times of the night and day, even when it's bypassed, even when you don't have the security armed, you're out of luck. I do not recommend this company at all. It's all about the money for them.

Project took about 3 weeks from order to completion. The team came out and did an estimate, measurements, and got their proposal back within a week. After the deposit and items were ordered it was fast - like two weeks and they were calling to schedule the installation time. The team that came out were great - and over two days they got everything done and managed to do it in the space without damaging anything inside the room - you'd never know this didn't come with the home. Really really happy. So far so good, everything works perfectly and the room has great sound and the large screen is amazing. They have a really nice show room on Laskin Rd where you can see their custom lighting, sample the sounds and screens, and look around.

On the morning of the 26th, I received a call from a Kaboom Tech representative who said a glitch in the system scheduled the appointment on a day they were closed. The appointment was rescheduled to December 29th. The morning of December 29th the same representative called and said he had a family emergency and asked if I would be willing to reschedule again. I agreed and a new appointment was set for January 4th. The morning of January 4th Kaboom Tech called and said they would have to cancel again do to an unforeseen problem. I was asked to reschedule for a third time. I declined. This company is very unreliable. I would look elsewhere for service.
