The images used to promote this hairdressers are rather misleading, do not be fooled by the modern and stylish models, this does not represent the service you receive. Think 80s barbers rather than modern salon.
Inside the shop you can admire the posters of Ferraris and Lamborghinis, or perhaps some of the framed football pictures on show. If you are looking for a style to emulate, perhaps the photo of Leonardo DiCaprio circa 1998 will provide you with some inspiration.
As you can expect from the pictures on show, or from the barbershop pillars adorning the shopfront, this is a 5-minute male haircut-focussed shop. I don't think men require reading material during their short, back and sides, so if you are a female with a lengthy appointment time, you can be sure to entertain yourself with the free local adverts magazine, or well that's all the reading material on offer. Maybe that's where the glass chess set comes in, afterall, nothing says elegance like a glass chess set. If you are still looking for something of interest to absorb your attention then you can watch those coming in for teeth whitening sitting only a few feet away. I'm sure both they and you will enjoy admiring the sight of their stretched, gaping and drooling mouth clamped open for 30 minutes.
As you enjoy your relaxing appointment you can take in the sounds of staff effing and jeffing within earshot, before you get moved to the sinks for your wash. The sinks are front-wash sinks, so you have the pleasure of curling forward to tip your forehead onto the sink edge, an experience which I'm surprised isn't used by more hairdressers, as it avoids that awkward do I keep my eyes open during my rinse moment, as instead you can examine your shoes whilst cricking your neck. I suppose the surroundings and the staff and the experience are just some of the more superfluous reasons to attend a hairdressers what is most important is your cut and colour. So perhaps this place offers a service which far outweighs its surroundings? No, no it doesn't. The haircut was not good, there was no time taken for those small but vital details like making sure your ends are level, and the colour was awful. I wasn't asked how I wanted the hair dried and finished. If you are going for highlights then don't worry, I saw they had one of those swimming caps with the holes you pull strands through, for that authentic sun-kissed highlight. I expect that was how Leo got his 90s blond tips and I don't think the salon hasn't moved on since then. read more
