Touring an empty facility with zero online reviews would make any parent hesitate, but talking to the owner, Rick, changed our minds on the spot. Its really easy to see that he isn't just running a business. He genuinely cares about the kids and poured his heart into building this place. The leadership sets the tone, and the director, Ridhima, runs the school seamlessly. She is hands-on, deeply caring, and always on top of daily operations and communication. The teachers are phenomenal and have been central to Mohini's development. Since starting, she has hit so many key milestones: mastering solid foods, picking up baby sign language, building her balance, and learning how to play alongside other kids. Seeing her grow into such a confident, independent toddler has everything to do with the daily care and encouragement she gets here. The best indicator is Mohini herself. She literally runs toward the door every morning to leave for school, and she even gets upset on weekends when she realizes she cannot go. We could not ask for a better daycare community, and we cannot recommend Rick, Ridhima, and the entire team highly enough.

The first time I stopped by to ask about pricing and possibly take a tour, the woman who answered the door was very rude and dismissive. She told me to call and schedule a tour and then added, "We don't offer financial assistance," even though I had never asked about financial assistance or mentioned anything about my financial situation. I decided not to judge the entire school based on that interaction and scheduled a tour. When I returned, I was warmly greeted by the owner and introduced to the director--who happened to be the same woman from my first visit. I came in with an open mind and explained that my baby was already enrolled elsewhere and that I was simply exploring options for the future. Instead of starting the tour, she asked, "Are you looking at prices? I can show you the prices and then you can decide if you want the tour." I cannot say whether her behavior was due to bias or simply her personality, but I can say that I did not feel welcomed, respected, or comfortable. As a parent, that matters tremendously to me when choosing a place for my baby. The owner was very kind, and I truly hope other families have had better experiences. Unfortunately, based on my interactions with the director, I would not feel comfortable enrolling my baby here.

They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive we could find, but the descriptions of the camps sounded like we'd get a good value for our dollar. Our kids were excited about the different themes of each camp week that we ended up signing them for two weeks each instead of one because they liked different themes. We booked the "It's Elemental" and "Animal Adaptations" camps for our twin boys and "Castles and Catapults" and "Explore Hawaii" camps for our daughter in February. They were thrilled about the summer camps, and we glad to see how much they were looking for to them. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic took over everyone's lives. Like many parents in the Bay Area, my wife and I had to juggle not only watching but teaching our children as well as juggle work. My wife and I are both healthcare workers albeit working in different hospitals and different fields (radiology versus nursing). We hoped that things would go back to normal, but that was quickly dashed away when the school was closed down for the remainder of the school year and the lockdown was extended. We knew that they'd need the summer camps more than ever. Unfortunately, Camp Captivate had to cancel their physical camps. The owner of Camp Captivate, Ildiko Stennis, helped me with the refund. We received gift cards that we could use for future camps because we hadn't notified them that we wanted to be reimbursed. I spoke with Mrs. Stennis about our situation, and she was very understanding. She removed the funds from the gift cards and did a full refund to my credit card. She was empathetic and friendly, and I really appreciated her help. I know for sure that my wife and I will be signing up our children for Camp Captivate when things go back to normal.

Barrenechea called our 2 year old spoiled after 2 weeks of starting at Little Einstein's Montessori. Note that we were coming out of a pandemic and interaction with others had been very limited. And he was two!!!! During pick up he would be crying hysterically and would cling on to me. There were other off handed remarks made by her. What sealed our decision to pull him out was when I arrived early to pick him up (I had notified Mercedes, owner, of this), and he was in the front lobby by himself crying hysterically. No one in sight. NO ONE. I rang the doorbell twice and tried my best to calm him down from the other side of the door. After what felt like an eternity, Mercedes E. came calmly walking down the hallway. Her comment was "oh. He's here by himself?" I asked "you didn't know he was missing from the classroom?!" She said "I was changing a diaper. He was supposed to be with the other kids in the playroom. He's really good at opening doors" I said "do not put this on him for your lack of attention" We spoke to the owner, Mercedes, that night and we made the decision to unenroll him. There were too many red flags with staff. However, Mercedes did inform us that the teacher that was responsible for looking after my son was fired. Hence the two stars.

My son attended ATLC from Nov 2025 until April 2026 when we removed him from the school after he…read morestated that a teacher had hit him more than once. This was the final straw after we had a few red flags in the short amount of time our son attended this school. A few of these red flags include the following: - Another student hit our son in the face with a stick on the playground. We received a phone call around 2:55PM, approximately 15 minutes before we were scheduled to pick him up to tell us he had a minor scratch on his face and is okay. When we picked him up, we found out he had a large cut from above his eyebrow, down across his eyelid, and then down his cheek and was more severe than presented over the phone. That night I wrote an email about my concerns with the supervision on the playground and asking what their protocol was for sending kids home. Our son had previously been sent home for not taking a nap, but this child who hit our son was not sent home. I never received a response to this email. The following day at drop off we received an incident report that stated this incident occurred around 9AM, even though we were informed about hours later. It as well was framed as it was our son's fault for the incident since he took a toy a separate child was playing with. - Our son had begun to be sent home frequently as he had started to not take naps anymore. They would usually call us right before naptime and tell us to pick him up as he was 'disrupting naptime'. One morning I dropped him off and within 30 minutes I received a phone call saying that they were understaffed for the day and asked me to pick him up since he was their 'active' student. - We found out from our son that they played tv prior to naptime when we were never told that they do screen time as we limit screentime in our own home. It is also proven that screentime prior to nap or bedtime prevents restfulness. - If a child does not nap, they will single them out and make them sit by themselves in an empty room. - Our son went from absolutely loving school/daycare and never having disciplinary incidents to weekly being told he was a problem child and singled out constantly. This led to him crying and never wanting to go to school as I believe he felt the dislike toward him from the teachers. - He began to tell us how he only liked his one teacher and that his other teacher was mean. This led to him telling us how on the playground one day this specific teacher grabbed him by the hand, dragged him over to forcefully pick up a toy, and open hand slapped him on the knees/shin area. He told me that this teacher previously sat on him during nap time. He then told me that this teacher called him a naughty word. When pressed further he ended up telling us that the teacher called him "a little shit". Following this incident we immediately pulled our son and removed him from this school. When my MIL went to pick up his belongings, the same teacher laughed in my MIL's face when the situation about hitting our child came up and yelled at her. It was extremely disappointing and disheartening that this woman was supposed to be teaching my son and making him feel safe when she ended up doing the complete opposite. - Lastly, our son has an IEP for speech, and it makes me very concerned that they singled out a child who may not fully be able to communicate what was happening to him. His speech teacher that is employed by the Cambrian school district, conducted an observation of him in class and stated how he had an amazing morning with no incidents. I was elated by the feedback, but of course once we picked him up at the end of the day, we were met by the teacher who told us how unruly he was *right* when the speech teacher left the classroom conveniently. I do not think this woman should be working in any environment with a child moving forward and I hope no other child is hurt physically or emotionally by this preschool. Our son now goes to another preschool and has been thriving since starting there. He has many friends, loves his teachers, and comes home every day with something new that he learned in school. He never had that at ATLC. Instead, he had mean teachers and another student telling him "No one likes you. You have no friends" at THREE.

The teachers are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They seem to have an endless trove of creative activities, multiple options set up every day. They do a group snack time where the kids learn to serve themselves. They help with potty training. My son LOVES the sand pit, mud station, pretend room, and all his new friends. It was intimidating for me to join a new group of families, but everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable and supported as a Mom, and I love being able to spend time with ALL the kids here, a bonus I didn't anticipate enjoying so much. Parent participation is a huge and important part of the experience, and it worked out awesome for us.
