I am taking a moment to update my review given over a year ago for Garden of Joy Montessori…read more I am still beyond grateful for the dedication and support that has been given by Miss Sierra Tan and all of her support staff at GOJMIS. My son has continued to thrive and excel at SO MUCH, since being under the care and instruction of Miss Sierra. At just over 5 years old, my son is reading with ease and proficiency. He is able to grasp and understand a variety of mathematical concepts, and shares anecdotes of many other things he has learned throughout his day at pick-up (and throughout the week!). We speak only English in our home, but the exposure to Chinese and Spanish has brought the recitation of stories and lessons taught into our home. My son sings songs in Chinese (and can explain to me what they mean and what he is saying), and does the same in Spanish. I am in awe that he is becoming a tri-lingual speaker, and hope to carry on the exposure once he enters grade school. Miss Sierra's techniques and execution of the Montessori Method is a testament to how well this educational approach works, when implemented by a dedicated and unwavering instructor. I know that I have given my son the best start on the journey of learning, and I have Garden of Joy Montessori to thank. We are still enjoying the wonderful sense of community and involvement by parents and caregivers on park outings and holiday celebrations, looking through adorable daily photo updates and pertinent school communication via an app (Playground), and opportunities to be involved in the classroom (parent-led cooking projects, story time, etc.) This school is truly a gem in the South Bay.

I sent her to different preschool before she cried and her face see very intense so I thought it's process to go to school but tigarfish bring a lot of joy to her, teacher/owner is very nice and her method is loving and caring and guide kids to learn which I like the most, the owner is in education field for many years and teach/student ratio is good, I think it's 4:1 or 6:1, owner loves kids and she will lead teacher and everyone to do a lot of activities, including sport, game, learning, kids got busy everyday and my girl is very looking forward to go to school everyday which I feel very relieved to send my kid to tigarfish, Ive been heard a lot and went to couple preschool, I can't find any preschool to take care of kids like tigarfish, they also have special teacher prepare meals, snacks and take care of diaper, backpack, and clean the environment, the school is in owner house but it's very nice, spacious and clean, for young's kids i highly recommend going to tigarfish they will feel like home and environment and atmosphere created by owner is very loving, my daughter already made couple good friends in couple days she went. I highly recommend to visit this preschool and if you have kids start from 2.5 years old and before K, that's best preschool in evergreen !

My kid is enrolled in this program for a while. Overall, I feel my child enjoys to going to see the teachers and the friends. Every morning the child is excited to go to school. There are four teachers and less than 10 kids with different ages. I believe the teachers have enough capacity to take care of all kids.

After two full years here, he has truly blossomed and learned so much. Every morning, we dropped him off with complete peace of mind, knowing he was in a safe and caring environment. Ms. Yvonne always greeted us with a smile, and my son constantly shared wonderful stories about her and his other teachers. He also made great friends--including a best friend he couldn't stop talking about at home! We are sad to leave Play 'N' Learn as he moves on to TK this year, but the foundation they built for him has prepared him so well for this next step. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Play 'N' Learn and its amazing staff. We are already looking forward to sending him back for summer camp next year.

What I love most is that they provide a warm, nurturing school environment that reminds me of the wonderful, supportive community I personally grew up in. She came home with wonderful memories, and I'll always be thankful for the love and care she received there. She has been an incredible teacher and has cared for our son as if he were her own. He absolutely adores her--to the point that he asks for Mrs. Catalina even on the weekends! As parents, there's nothing more reassuring than knowing your child feels that loved and safe. Her patience, kindness, and genuine love for children shine through in everything she does. She even gifted our son a copy of a children's book that she wrote herself, which meant so much to us and speaks volumes about her passion, experience, and dedication to helping children learn and grow. We took our 2 years old son with us on the visit as we wanted to include him in the process and help make the transition to school smoother for him. The school is part of a church but the preschool curriculum does not appear to be focus on religion. We started with a p/t schedule for about 1.5 months then transition him to f/t. I would say it took him about 2 months to fully transition. However, I did not have any worries as Ms. Jenny and the other teachers/paraprofessionals are very kind, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable of child development. I like that they did not pressure my son with potty training him but encourages him daily to use the toilet. They understand that every child's development is different and that my son is ready when he is. He eventually sat on the toilet but did not do his business and everything clicked when he turned 3 as he is now potty trained. :) Now that my son is used to preschool, he is excited to go to school every day and happy to share with me his classwork/artwork whenever I pick him up. He leaves the school smiling and saying bye to all his friends and teachers. Further, he is always singing songs and talking about things he has learn from school. I am so glad that he is having such a positive experience here and I know that he will definitely be ready for Kindergarten when the time comes. The door to the preschool can be easily opened from inside as it is has a push bar. Any child can open it and of course, any one can come in. I think it should be locked and a doorbell should be installed or some other steps to take to prevent a child bolting out or a stranger coming in. Does not hurt to be too safe.

I love the facility and the way the rooms are setup. There are 4 rooms connected to each other so it's easy to separate the classes during curriculum and free play, and it's also easy to teachers to hop between rooms as needed. The school provided excellent lunches and snacks, and posted great pictures of the children eating together on the Procare app. Also the outdoor play area is excellent. There are many cars, balls and toys for the children to use. The shade structures are expertly set up, and the playground equipment is fun and safe.
