Calibre Marine Body Shop and Paint

The previous owner of our 2001 Lund boat slammed it into a dock and tore about a six inch hole in the aluminum skin. He fixed it with Bondo and put a sticker over it. The paint on the hull had the worst case of dock rash I'd ever seen. I asked Les to fix the damage and we worked together to save as much money as we could, while making the boat and trailer presentable and safe. . . . But before he did the work, he pulled my boat over to Best Marine to have it winterized, saving me the trip. He said he was shuttling boats back and forth for them, and it wasn't any trouble for him to do that! After it was prepped for winter, and back at his shop, Les had his team strip boat and trailer down to bare metal. They welded in a patch to close the hole, and carefully smoothed out the sides and transom, then painted the boat to match Lund factory colors. He worked closely with his paint and body guys who were so imaginative! The trailer was repainted silver with matching red accents. Lund wanted about $1300 for new OEM graphics. Les suggested that we just stripe the hull, and use vinyl graphics that I found on Ebay for about $25. When he was putting the trailer back together, he replaced the old funky fenders and rewired the trailer with completely new lights and parts. . . Everything matches, and looks fabulous. I'll never take my boat anywhere else if it needs repair work.

Kleen Tank of Northern Colorado - Cleaning the black tank on a RV

Kleen Tank of Northern Colorado

As the proud new owner of a used travel trailer, the one thing I'd been dreading learning/doing…read moremost was emptying & maintaining my gray and black tanks. I knew my tanks were in bad shape--the prior owner had left them 2/3rds full over the spring and summer--and I was not at all confident of my ability to get rid of the horrible smell. Kleen Tank to the rescue! Not only did Dusty get my tanks so clean that they all came out clear water (& given their state, that was a miracle in itself), he also educated me on how to maintain my unit in the future. Without his experience & familiarity with units like mine, I never would have realized that I had 2 gray tanks, not one, and that there were two additional gray shut off valves hiding way underneath the unit. I can't say enough about Dusty as a tech, either. He was friendly, patient, respectful, kind, & very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Kleen Tank to absolutely everyone who has an RV & I fully plan on having Dusty back every year to clean mine again.

You may worry that you'll be taken advantage of, that they'll take their sweet time getting your vehicle out, and charge 3x what a local shop would charge with the promise of "getting it done right". While Stewart and Stevenson may be the only producer of Allison Transmission parts in all of Denver, make no mistake they have absolutely no intention of abusing this power. When I brought my truck in, I worried that I would need at least new sensors and a new TCM; (VERY PRICEY). The mechanic, one of the coolest I've EVER met, met me outside, plugged his computer into the truck, walked me through everything he saw wrong, and assured me it was just a wire shorting somewhere. The clearly experienced gentlemen was right, go figure. I think we can all agree dealing with electronics is ridiculous and timely. But these folks finished the repair, AND serviced the transmission itself (fluids, filter, magnets, etc.) in ONE SINGLE DAY... FOR LESS THAN $1K. WOOOOW!! All in all, my total turn around was 48 hours. This is VERY important for those of you running businesses with these vehicles. My truck runs seamlessly, I couldn't be any more confident in it. A few name's I'd like to shoutout for making the entire process so amazing: Tyler, either Mike or Mark, I believe Jim might've been the mechanic. Thank you so much. This is folks livelihoods, and you treat it as if it were your own.

My husband and I are not mechanics but we knew it wasn't getting fuel for some reason. We kept reaching out to the service department during the week they had it but could get no one to return our calls. Finally we got a service tech that told us it had simply lost it's prime. Whew! we thought--nothing serious. BUT when we went to pay our bill they charged us $1300 for six hours of work to reprime the machine!! They also never called us with any estimate for the work. We paid in good faith and wrote a letter asking the manager to contact us. She never did. Here's the real kicker--the next day--same thing --it wouldn't start. Being the non mechanics we are, my husband and I filled the fuel lines and discovered there was a hole in one of the lines. We replaced the lines and it started right up. It's been fine ever since. They didn't discover that in 6 hours work?? Really disappointing. Don't trust these folks and don't expect to get what you pay for.

For instance, I didn't need a hitch for 3,000# or greater, just something to carry the trike. Even after we agreed that I should look elsewhere, Robert continues to discuss my needs and offer suggestions, such as contacting my bike shop. Robert went above and beyond to assist me, even after it was obvious that there'd be no money in it for them. Based on my experience, I'd return to them for a quote next time I needed a hitch for another reason.

I specifically said that the cab AC was not working and that I thought a rodent bui a nest in the intake. The rear AC probably needs a new compressor. 3 weeks later I got an estimate for $800 and a note that said there was no house battery. I called and said that I knew there was a house battery under the chassis on the driver side. They said they didn't look there. They said they needed to order parts. After another couple weeks I wanted to take the van camping so I went to the location and the business was gone! I called and they said they moved. I decided not to go camping. A few weeks later I called to say I needed the van in early October and they said the parts were on the way. I called every day and the day I was to leave they finally said the van was ready. The bill had grown to $3,500! When I went to pick it up I discovered that they only serviced the house AC Which was working fine. They said they didn't work on the van's AC. Be sure you are very clear on what the are doing and do not let them proceed with work without an estimate of both costs and time. Buyer be aware !!!
