You will wait at least one or two weeks to get your car back then you'll find out it wasn't fixed properly . They will also fix things without giving you a proper estimate . One time they didn't even tighten the lug nuts when they put a wheel on and the wheel almost fell off . When I bought it in to get checked they couldn't even figure that out . Told me the car was old and that's why it was making a thumping noise . As it turned out the wheel is ready to fall off this happened after they rotated the tires . Another time they installed a timing belt it fell off after 1 week and I had to have it towed into the shop . He fixed it but refuse to give me the money for the towing when it was his fault the belt fell off . Put on a new AC compressor for me and when I went to pick up the car all the freon was leaked out . After that the freon would slowly leak and have to be recharged every so often . I never had a leak before he replace the compressor. Another time he replaced the valve covers and then they were still leaking had to bring it back again to get it fixed properly . read more

This review is long overdue! Don, his team of technicians and his wife are amazing. I love supporting local businesses and this is a gem, as far as mechanics go. Don is very patient and very honest. I have an older car because I don't believe in buying brand new cars every 5 years or leasing every 3 years, so that I can impress people I don't even like - I rather put that money towards retirement. At any rate, I've been going to Don for over 2 years, and I can't complain about his service or his rates. He is also very good about calling me to remind me that my car is in his garage - I tend to forget when I get sucked into work. He is always super booked up, so it you don't have an emergency, please call him in advance to reserve your spot. He is also good with emergencies even if he is booked up - I once had to get my car towed to his garage on short notice, and he squeezed me in; we couldn't fix the car the same day, but at least my car was in a safe place. read more

Anthony (supposedly owner of son) refused to accept car for conventional oil change, saying it requires Synthetic. Told me the dealership and other auto repair shops lied to me all the times they've serviced the vehicle because they want my engine to die. My owners manuel even recommends conventional oil. Had my 8.1 l suburban down there a few years ago. The AC compressor had blown. Don replaced it and while recharging it, noticed that the pressures were way too high. He did a little digging and found that that engine cooling fan clutch was shot causing the engine temps and pressure to the ac to go too high. Even though the engine temp never showed high on the dash gauge, fact is if he hadn't caught it, the engine would have burned out within a year. Some mechanics wouldn't have worried about it, but don called me when he found the problem and with my permission fixed. Don's a friendly guy, seems very straight-forward and honest (you won't get any sly salesman talk from him!) and he had me out the door all fixed up and with an oil change for under $150 and about 6 hours. (I didn't wait there; that's why Uber exists.) I will definitely be going back to MasterTech and Don again. My repairs weren't covered under warranty according to them. The charged me, tried to sell me another $400+ worth of maintenance, and the car still didn't work. Took my car to Don. Don is an honest guy which unfortunately is hard to find in a mechanic. He replaced my radiator and when my car started to have issues again about a year later, he gave me a deal to put in a new radiator and do some other work that may have been causing the problem with the radiator. Well, I took my 1990 Isuzu Trooper (with 217,500 miles) for a routine check up and to fix a few things before a long (2,800 mile) road trip up the east coast. Don greeted me upon my arrival as he was checking something out in another car. I told him my situation about not being in town for a long while and about leaving for a road trip the 31st and needed to pick it up that morning. "No problem, see you Thursday Morning". I don't usually write reviews but this time wanted to share my experiences at Master Tech. I thought I had a bad wheel bearing on my car due to the sounds it was making and I had called around for prices. I spoke to Don when I called Master Tech who was very helpful over the phone and quoted me the best price by far I had found for that repair. I bought him the car later that day and he immediately went for a ride with me to hear the sounds. He wasn't sure if it was the wheel bearing but asked that I leave it overnight to be looked at the next day. When I called the next day he told me it was fixed and I was pleasantly surprised to be told it was only a cover under the car which had come loose and was flapping at high speeds. He saved me many hundreds of dollars and also told me that even though my dealer had said I needed new rear brakes, they were actually fine and didn't need replacing. Originally brought my car in to get new rear brake pads installed because I had previously went to my dealership and told me they needed to get done ASAP because they were about to be scratching metal to metal... They were going to charge me $350... I setup an appointment with Don and dropped my car off. I get a call from him and he says that I still have 50% wear left on my brake pads so they didn't even need to be replaced. I came to Don because of all of the great reviews he has and they are spot on. He was upfront with me and honest. He could've easily still replaced them without telling me they weren't really needed but he called me and told me otherwise. I will come back to Don for any future car issues I come up with. Don was great at Master Tech. He was reliable, on time, and offers fair pricing. I had my oil changed first, then needed a new timing belt/water pump and a new oil pan gasket to stop a small oil leak in a follow-up appointment. For the oil leak, I was told by another garage a few months earlier that I needed a new oil PAN and they couldn't find that part for my car (old model), so it never got fixed. Don and his mechanic were able to correctly identify that it was just the the gasket. For the timing belt/water pump 2nd appointment, Don was waiting for me first thing in the morning at 8am, as promised. He showed me all the parts he ordered that would be used in my car and provided a little explanation of what each thing does. Because I'm allergic to Don's (cute) office cat, I went over to Whole Foods market to do some work since it would take several hours. Otherwise, there is a place you could sit and wait with internet inside the office. (Don was super nice to drop me off at Whole Foods, but it's close enough to walk). The car was ready on time after both of my appointments and no more oil leak! Everything was great from start to finish both times.
